Overland Expo West - 23 Zero Armadillo Roof Top Tent Debut!

- Early Friday morning while setting up the booth and delivering a DirtCom “TrailSwing HD” rear hitch tire carrier to 23 Zero, I had the honor to be the first to see the Armadillo roof top tents!
Please note that these series of videos are not my typical type. I just want to bring this Expo to the people that weren’t fortunate to attend.

That Armadillo X looks fantastic. I've talked to the 23Zero guys a number of times at their shop out here in Utah about their "upcoming Armadillo." They were pretty hush-hush and now I can see why.

Awesome man if I had the money to buy all the good stuff I’ll buy it but since I’m on a budget I’m making my own tire swing with a Yakima bike swing to carry my full size spare tire
Waiting for 23 Zero to come out with sidewalls with windows and screens for their 270 Peregrine awnings with LST !

Would be nice if Fox decide to design an off-road-worthy suspension for the Ridgeline/Pass/Pilot. I understand that due to the lack of demand, financially it is not a good decision.
I agree! There’s other companies too, like Bilstein. Eibach finally released springs, but they’re “lift springs”, which should limit wheel up travel 😢. If they would make standard height overland springs, that would be awesome.
How well does it fit on a GFC topper on a power wagon?🤩
Can the 23 zero storage boxes be mounted to a roof rack " prinsu" with sherpa mounts ? I have seen videos where sherpa mounts can be used to mount roam boxes to the prinsu roof rack

I had a 23zero 180 awning w/ the LST. It was destroyed in a fire before I could use it on a trip. He mentioned that the Armadillo is going to be a series of products? Does that mean there will be an awning in that series, too, that works with these tents?
Oh bummer! Sorry to hear about your side wall. The owner said Armadillo will be a line of products, I just don’t know if that will extent to anything beyond roof top tents (or swag).
These looks awesome. What rail would work well with something like this on the Passport?
A flush rail would probably work the best. Yakima and Thule make them. I have custom Front runner bars that are very very strong, but they’re too wide, so we had to custom mount the tent.

How wide is the soft shell armadillo closed? Also the weight.
I was meaning to take a tape measure to the tent, but I got so busy at the expo. I contacted 23 Zero, and hopefully they will hop on here and answer your question. It’s a nice tent! As cool as the aluminum hard shell is, the storage pocket will be game changing.
