Just found your channel... I saw a comment of yours on rhetts channel and just the name of your channel made me look ya up... I read the description of your channel and subscribed without even watching one second of any of your vids... your attitude towards music is exactly the same as mine.. it’s all about the journey, and the joy of learning to play. I’m a 60 yr old that’s basically just now getting started w music... and having a blast sharing my journey on TH-cam! I’m glad I found you, and I’m gonna check out all your videos now... ! Starting w this one, (great playing here by the way..)
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing. Love the lifelong journey that is the guitar and music. And grateful for TH-cam to find like minded people! Hope my videos can be of service and thanks for subscribing - hoping to get more consistent releases out here shortly! Cheers 🤘
Excellent! Pointed me to where I may want to go next in my Micro journey. And it may be the BB15 Low … very jazzy. I’m using a 1/8” to a 1/4” cable into a George Benson Hot Rod Deluxe when I want to ditch the headphones.
@@CameraLaw I really love my real bass breaker for the low setting - I’ve had it for 5 years and still go back to it for the clean all the time. Glad I could be helpful!!
@ If I recall correctly, it was what you used when you played a quite lovely rendition of Autumn Leaves. Honestly, wasn’t aware of this series of Fender amps.
Some of the standouts to my ear: 6:27 Vibrato Drive 7:54 Harmonic Tremolo 9:50 Stereo Delay 10:40 Tweed Sugar 11:55 70s Rock 13:06 90s Rock!!!! 14:16 Broken (90s Indie interlude sound!) 16:36 Year 2290 19:02 Tweed Blues 21:54 BB Low- so good! 22:10 Cranked Prince!!!! 34:39 Silvertone Evil Bassman! All relatively basic sounds but pretty great
Thanks for putting in the work on this one - looks like a lot of effort! Was thinking of picking one up, but other than a few samples, hadn't seen the presets anywhere.
That’s because most of TH-cam is influencers doing infomercials. They aren’t doing actual reviews where the real pros and cons are discussed along with the concept of ‘who is this for and who is this not really for?’
I think your excellent demo is a bit of an eye opener compared to many of the other obviously ' paid for ' reviews. I love the likes of TH-camrs like Leon Todd and The Studio Rats but they make tin cans with strings sound like Fractals and you do wonder how much post production there is? Out of the box presets are notoriously poor but if they are indicative of what a unit is Caracas of I'm not that impressed. Some of the clean sounds were fine as you might expect with a fender product. However, many of the overdriven and distortion sounds sounded very samey and with that infamous hint of fizz. What I do love is the graphical user interface which looks very user friendly and intuitive. Ultimately, I think I may wait and see if Boss can pull their finger out and put out a new version of the Katana Go which died an early death due to supposed parts issues. They will be losing ground in the headphone amp market so hope this pushes them on. And let's hope they change the interface.
@@michaeldean7220 I like this take - I agree the heavy distortion tones sound pretty fizzy - you can see my heart sink when there back to back Eddie sounds towards the end because I was just over it. But I’m not a heavy distortion player usually, so I’m not bothered by it too much. For practice sessions with light overdrive or edge of break up or clean sounds this works just fine. The purple fuzz on this sounds pretty good too, was pretty surprised by how good it sounds. But yeah, this is right of the box, no extra post-effects, so what you hear is what you get. Thanks for the comment.
@@thegram9207 Ha! I know - Fender has no idea I’m out here hustlin’ their product so hard. But honestly, prettty rad piece of kit. Hope you enjoy it! Cheers 🤘
@@paulfield6815 Yeah - it’s on my list of things to do if I can ever get my kids to go to sleep at a normal time! Hopefully before the end of this month! Any kind of tones/artists in particular you’re interested in?
@dadtimejamtime yeah man, I've got three kiddos and they always seem to need something ha ha. Any ambient, atmospheric, shoe gazey presets would be awesome. I just want to write songs like Explosions in the Sky :)
@@mattmalec2415 hey, I have a few different sets of headphones I use. Honestly with the onboard EQ you can use this with most anything. I’ve used it with basic wires EarPods and it’s usable. But usually my go to are either a pair of shure 215 in ear style monitor or a pair of marrantz over the ear monitor headphones. Usually I’m not too picky as I use this more for just quiet practice than anything else, so the best headphones are the ones you have nearby.
I had the first version of this! I had two ‘complaints’ 1. ALL of the supposed clean amps/settings had a touch of overdrive- they could never get 100% clean. 2. Was worried that using headphones even at supposed reasonably low volumes would damage my hearing long-term. Aside from that it’s great to see they upgraded it significantly.
