It's Mia. Look, don't hang up. You can't go back to any of the safe houses, Cross knows about them. Head over the old bridge, the location is on your GPS. Your car is fast enough to make the jump. It's the only way. Later.
Made me smile that you didnt forget about the transmission. Most people completly forget about it... For me it was the SOUND, LIVERY+BODYKIT that made the car THE CAR evrr since I was in elementary
The devil is in the details, and I'm going to hell for being thorough. Driving any car is a unique experience, and the M3 GTR has a lot going on, and if even one little detail is missing it won't feel genuine
You need either M3 GT2 engine the P65B40(it is identical to M3 GTR sound wise and better perf wise, but its hyper expensive) or TVR Cerbera AJP V8 that sounds indetical to ingame car, some decent straightcut gear setup, rest is what Andre was about to do with bodykit and side exhaust which is tons of fabrication and and welding work you need to do by yourself.
Scottsdale Motorsports can handle a lot of the cutting and duct work for you in order to prep it for the exhaust install, but you need a roll cage to keep the car rigid
If you are looking for a v8 swap, i would prefer the 1uz with a single turbo, stock internals can take above 800hp, and its a 4.0 just like like the original.
they didnt even make a 1UZ with a manual, so you're adapting something, and its 15 years older with heads that flow half as much as any of the BMW V8's, even M60', with no aftermarket support as anyone wanting a performance motor just uses a 2JZ. yeah awesome.
I think that the straight-cut gears is why they don't have to use the clutch on up/downshift. Without the angled teeth, it allows the gears to slip together much easier, so "floating" the gears is not nearly as precise of a thing as it is in a normal street car. The primary reason we don't see them in road cars is the excess noise, followed by the fact that they wear quicker.
This is a very, VERY well made video. Finally someone who talks nicely about this icon. However, as a long-time dreamer of the E46 GTR, I need to point out something I learned while looking for the car itself: 1) S54, S65 and S63 (with their relative racing versions) are NOT the most economical versions. M60 and M62 engines are 4.4L (and even 3.9L) versions of BMW V8 engines which, sadly don't make more than 347HP stock, but sound amazing, and they're really affordable. The redline is about 7500 RPM, basically the same as the original P60B40 engine, but they don't go over 6,000$. You can easily put some custom injectors, new headers and ECU remapping to get the notorious 440 HP. All this for half the price of an M3 E46. 2) The original wheels which 2M Autowerks offers, the BBS E88 Racing, were used in a different version of a GT2 M3 E46 (also present in some Gran Turismo games), but sadly are not the one used in NFSMW's E46 GTR. Those are the BBS RE594/RE595, and fortunately, they can be found in Scottsdale's website. However, a cheaper alternative can be easily acquired from Rogue Engineering, who made a pixel-perfect replica of those, and you can have it for 389$ each, which leads to a total of less than 1600$. Other than that, covered every meaningful point of the video. Subscribed.

This is a lot more informational than the other videos about this replica car! I do have one question tho... Kenji's Mazda rx-7 from Need for Speed Carbon. How can one build a replica of that car? I tried finding the body kit but I couldn't... (also i thought of the nfs carbon intro supra, but I'll feel like the body kit there is unique to nfs)
That’s a great question! How’s about I make a video about it and I cover how my buddy Van did it on his NFSMW M3 GTR replica? He retained the stock headers, and section 1 parts of the factory of the exhaust, but the section 2 portion is the side exit.

Get an M3 E46 or a 330ci 1999-2004. Find a 90s hipster kitcar guy. Weld in a roll cage. Get a red sparco seat. Paint it like the game. Get an exhaust shop to weld on some piping for a side exhaust. Cheap Done
I suppose that's one way. I've gone the expensive route, just not the MOST expensive route. My bodykit is 13k and the engine mods are just over 10k. Exhaust system is over 10k in parts as well and the wrap will be over 5k. This doesn't include extra tuning and wheels and tires as I have not 100% settled on my current wheel and tire setup yet (I might go for bigger tires)

@@TheRacingJoker why not supercharge or turbo
@@letsgowraith4152 depends on what you’re trying to build. I personally would love a twin turbo S65 V8 in my M3
@@TheRacingJoker so what do you think which will sound like m3 gtr supercharge or turbo
I want to build a replica like the original one
This could be the key i need to race to earn cash. Just need to get the car, install the parts and enter the nearest racing league that allows this car. I feel like im risking my college money by putting it in to my own m3 and making a living.
P.S. thanks for the info! I'll put in to good use.
So now i know that not only i need to learn how to drive a manual but also how to drive a car with a racing transmission because i can breake it if i dont... oof, i always wanted to get one of these for fun and maybe use it as a daily but it seems like a hard thing to do with the trans, i love the sound it makes tho so it wouldnt be the same without it.
Did the GTR’s actually use Holinger gearboxes, or is that just a feasible option?
The GTR's used hewland gearboxes, xtracs and holingers depending on the rules and engine configuration
This might be a stupid thing to ask but could you change the SMG to use paddle shifts?
It’s a thought I had for a while
Absolutely, I’ve real E46 race chassis cars with paddles and P65s
Get an M3 E46 or a 330ci 1999-2004.
Find a 90s hipster kitcar guy. Weld in a roll cage. Get a red sparco seat. Paint it like the game.
Get an exhaust shop to weld on some piping for a side exhaust. Cheap
Done
I suppose that's one way. I've gone the expensive route, just not the MOST expensive route. My bodykit is 13k and the engine mods are just over 10k. Exhaust system is over 10k in parts as well and the wrap will be over 5k. This doesn't include extra tuning and wheels and tires as I have not 100% settled on my current wheel and tire setup yet (I might go for bigger tires)
you forgot to mention TVR's 4.5 V8, which is a Flatplane V8 out of the factory and was the car recorded for MW 2005's M3 GTR sound, though since it's a TVR engine it will break down more often than the average 14 year old girl on Facebook
What about the gtr wheels where can I get those
You can’t, but the Rogue Engineering GTR wheels are basically a streetcar version of those wheels
@@TheRacingJoker there is this thing in the rear fender.. What is it?
@@TheRacingJoker and also, 2m autowerks have a weird hood..
In a rhd car can the exhaust still exit through the right?
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO BRO THIS IS SO HELPFUL TO ME AND I CAN EARN MONEY TO MAKE ONE
*nice pinstripe *guess who’s back*
Can you get the same bbs wheels from the race car/ the ones used in the game.
(Edit) I just seen your comment stating that you cant get them anywhere but I have seen them on the Scottsdale Motorsport website or they just haven’t taken them off and the website needs updating.
The ones on Scottsdale Motorsport are in the company owner’s personal collection. He told me he wouldnt sell them for less than 60k USD and he wouldnt sell them at all unless if he knew theyd be going on a real M3 racecar
The Racing Joker ah I see, thanks for clearing that up.
