From an English professor: Don’t skip your first day of class. I’m enjoying your vlogs. You’re a fantastic cinematographer. Would like to know when you’re going to restock some of the items in your store.
Thank you! New collection will be out in a few weeks (:
@@MaxReisinger Thank you, Max.
I really enjoyed watching this video because as a college freshman, I have gone through the similar thought processes as you when I ask myself: "What is the balance and the limit, where do I cross that line?" You seem like a deeply emotional person and someone who strives to be completely honest with themself. I definitely think we would get along if our paths ever cross.
To an extreme degree. Not healthy for a young man.
Holy smokes !!! Did I just watch a full short film up for an award ???? The amount of work, filming and editing are awesome !!! You are doing a fantastic job on your videos !!! You have a huge amount of talent and are gifted to share it on this platform !! No matter how your education pursuits evolve you have the talent for all of the aspects of the film industry !!! Add to that the gift of telling a heartfelt story that is deeply personal !!! You are appreciated by me and many others !!!
Max, I love how your videos have such wisdom and emotion in them. They carry a weight. A weight that’s not bad. Its like a weight of emotion that makes you feel both happy and sad at the same time. Happy and sad, an emotion that is almost impossible feel, but is felt all of the time. Thank you Max, your videos are a true masterpiece that truly enlighten me.
Beautifully articulated. Thank you, that genuinely means so much to me
Such an incredible video Max, you keep outdoing yourself!
Thank you! Means a lot coming from you (:
i find myself watching this video and reflecting on how it feels like max is a little brother to me. like watching his videos for so long, since high school, graduating, visiting many countries, meeting subs and cool people irl, videos reflecting on life, the porsche, getting sponsors like crazy, going to school in other countries, saying bye to mom, stuff on college applications and now actually going to college... like the glow is crazy when i think about it on the long term. can't wait to see this guy reach 1M subs and more, making more collabs and all of that yt stuff. all the best for u maximilian
Hell yeah! Thank you man (:
You got the whole room to yourself!!!! Love the way your brain works and how you express your inner thoughts.
I left my parent's house last year and the first weeks were great but I did miss them and I've felt sad and nostalgic too, thinking about my mom missing me was just heartbreaking and it's just like a duel process both you and your family have to go through because you are in a transition state between those two phases of your life.
That is life and you get used to it and everything is the same after, your family is still there for you and you will visit them and it all will be just the same and you will enjoy those moments with them a lot more.
Loving this genuine content, thank you, Max!!
You're already way more social than I was my entire four years at college, so good for you!
Ok you’re getting WAY TOO GOOD at this Max!! Thank you SO MUCH for everything that you do to share your life with us! It’s not just refreshing and fun to watch your videos, but it’s also strangely therapeutic as well, I think mainly because you’re so passionately authentic. Keep on keeping on with just being yourself, while simply having a total blast sharing it all with us! :))
Yes! Decorate that dorm room. Good experiences all around Max. Be well and stay safe. Absorb everything you can. 💜
your videos are an absolute masterpiece. the way you edit everything, combine them with the color grading, music selections, and the cinematics is outstanding! i truly admire work like yours. you're undeniably amazing!
18:20 to 20:10 has never depicted my opinion and feelings about college better. Just one big fever dream you question every day, but don’t have time to fully think about what’s happening in the present. In a constant state of thought as you go from class to class until all of a sudden it’s over.
This is literally my everyday life and I'm still in highschool, worried that it might become even worse when i go into college next year
as someone who just got done with their first sem in college, i can very well relate to this feeling of being away from family and trying to absorb new surroundings...it was a roller coaster for me..meeting new people with new perspectives can be fun but sometimes a lil scary too but i am glad to have you going through the same phase and documenting it..these videos are really really comforting Max..thank you so much
You were able to put feelings I’ve had for years about balance into words so well. Freshman year is a HUGE adjustment period, sending hugs
Your videos are like a short film. They look amazing. Well done, Max
Max’s videos always feel so nostalgic and I feel so many emotions watching them. This is the only channel I watch where I experience this so Max what I’m trying to say is your a very interesting person and I am very inspired by you.
i'm starting college this monday, for me is scary, meeting new people, having new teachers and classmates, making new friends, it's a whole new experience to me since i been in the same place for almost four years, but seeing your videos going to different places gives me hope that i can get used to it, so thank you max, your experience really inspires me to be a little more chill about it, hope you're having an amazing time :)
You've got this! Let me know how it goes (:
Everytime I see Max cry in a video my first thought is “why” and OMG I began to tear up when he explained seeing your mom cry. Because I definitely cried during that part in the last video.
I watched that video, and I was also in tears, I'm going to college this year, and the analogy to a child looking back as they run ahead to make sure the exploration is ok... that hit too.
The “balance talk” really resonated with me, since it’s already basically back to normal here in the Philippines, with full on face-to-face classes. I’ve been trying to balance company and solitude, and it’s been pretty hard. I'm still navigating, but I’m glad I’m not the only one. Thanks Max.
Forget the Frat world. You are way to smart for that and it will screw up your studies. You are 30 minutes from TH-cam HQ, good place to meet people with your skills.
I love how you show us so many sides of yourself, Max. You're totally aces at this. You show us all the 'perfect' shots... all the shots you knew were going to look really good in your videos... but you also show us the stuff that didn't go quite as planned - and it is SOOOOOO refreshing! Like YES! I love your vulnerability. Your channel is one of my faves. Keep up the great work!
Hii
The part about partying and losing progress really resonated. I almost never party because of that same reason and hearing your perspective changed my framework slightly. Loved the video man.
I totally love how vulnerable you're with us and it inspires me to be more vulnerable with my friends and myself ❤️ It's comforting to see how you analyze the balance thing because I'm kinda struggling with that too (I'm in hs and idk how much of it I need to spend doing things to make me look good for colleges and how much fun I can have with no guilt). Your videos are always so amazing and the editing is great ❤️
I think it’s really about finding the right group of people, even when the party is shit your group is what makes it an experience. Just see things as an experience and when you don’t want to go don’t go :). That is how I do it ✌🏻✨
Your cinematography/editing/storytelling is truly amazing, I'm in awe. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
Thank you, Grayson!
I think following the intuition is important. I just made it through my first year of college and I realized that the environment is not for me. I recalled what I wanted for myself when I was younger and thought back to core interests, things that have been there all along. I'm following my gut that's telling me the traditional college life is for me. because it's not-the partying, the drinking, the classrooms-it all makes me feel more trapped than anything (plus I don't value those experiences as things I would regret missing). I'm rerouting to a different path that's more suited to the person I want to become and change I want to make in the world .
good luck with everything ! :-)
First time I actually hear someone else saying it, I've had times where I was super productive and feeling amazing, but after going out I always felt unmotivated and tired the next couple of days (especially if I had a couple of drinks).
Ofcourse it can be fun and worth it for a lot people, but you need to determine if taking fun away from the next day(s), to have fun now is worth it for you.
So far my whole senior year I have been extremely anxious about what is to come. I wasn't sure if I was going to be good enough to survive college without any of my friends or family, and I'm still sort of unsure, but this video has helped me so much in reassuring me that I can handle it. Now, I'm actually kind of excited to see what happens and to meet new people. I guess it is about time since I have less than 3 months until the place I have spent the last 13 years of my life is officially gone.
I've never had a close friend but your introspective videos make me feel like I know you even though we've never met. Makes me wonder if the feeling I get when listening to you is what having a friend feels like. Just wanted to say thanks for continuing to post even tho you're probably busy with college. Also appreciate the bravery it takes to be so transparent to so many people. Thank you :)
Max actually went crazy on the editing for this video! Very well done. Your thoughts remind me of my own feelings from my freshman year of college. “Fever dream”is a great way of describing that experience. Excited to watch more!
Literally found your channel today. I've seen three videos and holy crap I'm blown away. You're about a year ahead of me (I move in for my freshman year of college this August). Your storytelling, authenticity, passion, wisdom, and maturity are everything I hope to bring to my career in music. I've subscribed and I look forward to venturing into adulthood with you
Your editing and shooting skills are insane it´s so fun to watch your videos and your videos always get me to think about myself since I am your age and a Uni student. Your videos are really helpful for me and surely for others as well, so thank you and keep it up. Looking forward for more videos.
I just started school and I’m not a super social person. I like being “around people” but not talking and stuff🤣 I love hanging out with you here bc I get to be low energy and you’re a deep thinker, so I can continue the conversation in my head, talking circles.
Also I’m getting notion bc of you, so now I have to check out the water bottles bc water is quite expensive here lol. Thanks for being my virtual friend. I wish you much success on your journey. You’re already doing big things and you’re only going to get better, no matter how your journey goes❤
You remind me so much of myself in college and I was WAYYYYYY too in my head and that closed off opportunities too. Find people that not only can be friends but nourish what you love and push you to grow and you will be very fulfilled. Big hugs
You are asking the right questions. 😊
Just remember that life is a collection of small beginnings. Change is the only constant.
Max, you definitely have a gift for storytelling and editing. Your honesty and openness is really refreshing. When you mentioned $80,000 for college I'm assuming you have wealthy parents.
After high school, I ended up joining the United States Air Force, and have absolutely no regrets and zero debt. I think I learned more in the military than I would ever of learned in college, and I got to travel quite a bit.
Max keep up the storytelling you've got a special gift and I wish you the best in college 🫶🏻✌🏻
I'm a freshman too and your video was so motivational. I thought about the exact same questions you did. it's just a good feeling that more people feel the same about a particular thing and that you're not alone. Thank you for sharing this piece of art.
I could see you're putting a lot of effort in your videos, this video is inspiring to get back into filming my college days before my college days are over forever. Your video editing style is so unique, and enjoyable. Definitely love this video already. Wish you the best in college Max
i still remember watching your videos in highschool 4 years ago🥺 now I'm in college too! keep up the good work my man, i love all of your videos, keep making good videos as always! you gave me a lot of motivation for college, and mostly about life :) thanks!
sorry for my broken english haha!
This video is honestly therapuetic and relaxing. College is full of self discovery and different emotions that come along with it. The way you capture these moments are really unique and beautiful. Great video Max and hope you enjoy College.
This man deffo stays hydrated
This ain’t no video…this is a film.
Luv u Max!
Listen Max, me too have been through the same phase, in fact many of us do. The emotional burst is of course the one of the hardest thing you've gotta deal with. It's because our parents, our friends all of them care about us and they very well understand what we need at any instance of time, but when we are away from them it is us who has to create our new identity in front of others who are completely strangers for the sake of that particular moment. But it's life bro, Nothing is permanent, you must keep rolling and just as the chick has to leave the nest someday, we too have to leave our dear ones someday and explore life and ultimately our reality. This sudden change for a moment affects us, but trust me, Nothing is permanent, you won't see how time flies and one day you'll have to leave the college and then you'll go through the same phase again. We can't really do anything regarding it, so just cheer up in the name of life and keep going as you never know what's in for you there. All the best buddy, keep going. ~ One of your fan from India 😃
❤❤❤
Oh my god! Have fun, live in the present. You have the rest of your life(hopefully) to worry about little things. A few late nights are worth the memories.
wow love your videos, the way you articulate yourself is very clear and reflects your maturity. keep it up!
That intro narration summed it up pretty well :’)
Two weeks ago I woke up at 6 to watch this video while getting ready for the first day of school. I'm almost in my senior year now. I had forgotten to comment on how great this video turned out, as always!
nah this is just crazy. you and Cameron have been working some magic.
Fun fact: Your videos are truly incredible!! The moving into college one was legit top Tier!!
Bro really worked hard for his life i will always support u bro.
The last 5 minutes hit so hard. Breathtaking
One of the most touching TH-camr on the platform.
You deserve the world
7:45 In my first year of college I prioritised "the fun" and felt like a zombie because I thought otherwise I wouldn't make any friends. Three years later I am now way more comfortable with staying in and prioritising my wellbeing. I now also surround myself with people that are more understanding of my needs. I still regularly find myself in situations were I try figuring out which of the two options I should go with. I am also still searching for that magical formula to help me get an easy yes or no. Let me know when you find it ;)
This man just kills it everytime!
You get over homesickness in time and remember it’s also a time for parents to reconnect with each other so as sad as it feels they also have to get on with their lives beyond having kids
15:23 I am just in a loss for words. This video is an emotional roller coaster, and I love it keep up the great work man.
i just want to say that the editing and quality of this video really stood out to me! your so creative! also good luck at college!
this is so calm and inspiring to me everytym i watch your videos 🤎
im watching this video the night before my english literature exam. i do think you're the most true person I've ever seen online. Go break a leg with ur college life Max!!!
Oooh I feel the topic you talked about around 9:40. I'm now 25, going to college but still living with my parents, but this has been a topic for me since people started going out in highschool. Early on my mom indoctrinated us, that going out isn't good. Of course I eventually caught on that that's BS, but different to my sister I didn't start endless fights, I just stayed at home for the the first few years. Of course not having many friends anyway played into that but it also withheld me from changing that easily. And I kept not really going out to this day cause now it's even like that the few times I did go out, I felt sooo out of place. I think I can remember only about 4 times when I actually enjoyed it, found the right people, the right vibes, the right amount of alk, the right time to go home etc. And adding to that my first 1.5 years of college were like 98% homeschooling due to Covid so there wasn't this phase of "meeting new similar people during during legendary nights", I just found a few good college friends online. But yeah I'm still trying to change the way I handle going out and trying to find the fun parts of that and all so I can only wish for you to find a good way and balance in how you'll handle that part :)
A "good night" seems like a very difficult recipe to perfect. I'll keep you updated if I make any progress, haha. Appreciate you sharing - best of luck to you as well (:
Your convesation about balance is something that I have now just started to deal with in my second year of college.
Im used to doing things by the rule book. I dont stay up late , never skip a class, dont go to parties late at night, and I study from the begining.
But now, I've realised that as an "adult", I have the freedom to make desicions that hat are not necesarilly the "rule book".
"I can skip a class, just to hang out?"
"I can stay up late binging a show?"
"I can do that? I know I probably shouldn't, but I can do that?"
Thats just mind boggling to me.
It's so weird to see you guys walking around Santa Clara...I grew up in the area but I didn't go to college there, so I've never seen it from this perspective. And I wish I had had this level of self-awareness when I was in college!
Going to college for the first time along side u max. This is soooo relatable and I've been feeling the same
thank you so much for this video max!! your skills are amazing and it means a lot for us to be a part of your journey!! thank you so much !!
I DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL READ THIS COMMENT
i am 16 year old and i am still in high schoo from morocco honestly the college in our country is so bad than your colleges in your country ;i try to find a videos that shows how life will change in college and i find your videos very good ; you are such a wonderful man who are honest with others and honesty i really like your personnality
that moment when i saw you cry i started cry too because i really love my mom and i can't leave her, but your words is so majestic and realistic and what i really find attractive is the relation between you and your mom and hope you will get a good grades in college and i hope to your mom good health
this was beautiful. i wish you the best luck on this part of your journey
I really like your vidoes. Thanks for sharing your unique experience of life. Your videos make me feel that my life can have many possibilities instead of just following the life paths of most people around me.
I'm so glad my videos make you feel that way. That's all that I hope for!
Best of luck on your unconventional journey, shoot me a dm if you ever need something (:
Those last few scenes were straight out of a movie holy cow epic video Max!!
These videos summon a lot of nostalgia, but I can't really pin point where this nostalgic feeling stems from.
5:20 close knit fraternity
5:33 congregate around = gather
5:48 sanctuary: nơi trú ẩn, bird sanctuary
7:48 par’take in: take part in
8:37 stubborn: difficult to change bướng bỉnh
10:26 head out to work: go somewhere
14:10 flex: khoe khoang quá mức
Your editing was incredible, and its really injoying in the video, you got a new subscription and fan.
Epic video, it is so cool to see college portrayed in this way. I can't wait for the next video. Great Job Max!
The FILMING, the EDITING! CHEF'S KISS REALLY
loving these college docs max!
Thank you ((:
Love your videos Max! It feels like we grow up together and that we're on this crazy journey of life together. I started university last year here in Sweden. It feels like you're a friend from school or something that I can share important moments and feelings with. I think that being with someone else and experiencing similar things and feeling similar things is a fundamental human need, the need to not just do things but to do things together, to experience life together.
bro is just living the life which most people just dream off.. So yeah 😊 good job max
I love ur vidéos so much !! The atmosphère and thé storytelling are incrédible 💫
I hope you are having a nice second week at uni! don't be too hard on yourself and keep up the good fight against existential dread!!
You are doing great ! Thanks for the videos.
Watching him for years now ❤😃
Your editing / creative style is rlly cool
I can't wait till you hit 1 million subscribers. I love your content so so much :)
Having just finished my first year of college I have never related to something more in regards to college realities and the aspects no one talks about, this was beautiful
I really like all the cinematic shots you put in your videos, you really know how to make nothing look like something.
Edit: I’m referring to the shots of him filling up his water bottle.
it's so amazing people can do that, a superpower, turning the mundane into magic
@@keiarna yh, it’s astonishing.
I was crying while watching this due to a multitude of reasons and then, by chance, the next shot was of you crying while you watch your own screen. I think that a nice circular narrative.
I was homesick to when I first lived in my college dorm. I didn't get invited to any parties, nor people accepting my invitation. I'm alone most of the time and I'm kinda used to it. Plus, with the never-ending assignments and workload, I barely have time for myself. That's college life for me.
These videos are so dope and bring me back to my college days. Glad you are settling in well and hope ton continue following on the journey.
This fast footage take my in your world, I got feeling that camera couldn`t catch up moments of life. Life, activities are faster and bigger than you can show it. I feel this during the watch you video. All so fast. I can`t normally collect and express my thoughts and feelings. I wish u adaptate in new reality and be calm and peaceful and save activity growth mindset
good luck !
Dude decorating dorm room like he gonna be living there his whole life.
Gotta build my world, haha
wooow I really really appreciate you, your point of view, your vulnerability, your consciousness. Just you! this was so deep and meaningful but fun and easy at the same time. I love your content, though its just the 5th video or so that Im watching :) love to you Max!
Thank you!!
so cinematic !! the effort is so top tier in your video log, love! cant wait for more soon !!
Thank you so much!!
Fantastic video, I think you did a great job at showing the world what you see rather than you you think the world wants to see…college is incredibly stressful, and balancing between hanging out with your friends, school work and your own time can be arduous at times…sleep definitely takes a hit (as you’ve stated). However, once you learn how to balance everything, it becomes quite a bit easier…just remember that you shouldn’t do anything because you you want to please others, you should do it because you as an individual wants to. I hope you find this to be a positive experience overall, and I hope you find yourself again.
Thank you for sharing your honest experience with us
Man, I'm in love with cinematography especially in this vid. You're like Wes Anderson of the world of shooting yt vids. It would've been super cool if you made a vid about how you shoot.
Max i have lost the ability to frame sentences now. i don't know any words to express what i feel. Youre incredible
Take your time Max. Breathe
I'll tell you rn, I went through all of college NOT clicking with people, not making many friends, not experiencing the college experiences i dreamed about,. I didn't go to those amazing college parties , clubs, or moments. I didn't meet that amazing group of productive friends. I left as alone as I started. Consider yourself lucky,. I am saying that as a creative film maker. Sometimes the environment just does not work. You on the other hand are super established in many spaces, so you will not have a problem, I am almost jealous of what you have accomplished and achieved. Seeing how successful you are in highschool
