Simply stupid to call something so boldly and uniquely designed SUV "ugly". This dude doesn't know anything about designs, much more about cars.
Dude is hire by the Chinese to bash anything Japanese.
UNSUBSCRIBED! You can literally become a retard watching this video
Ah right, just because you dont agree? It is my opinion and the opinion of many others that this is very ugly. And I'm free to say that. And I'm totally with everyone who doesnt find it ugly. What is the problem if people have different opinion on car design? Actually this is what it is about. Fine to have a discussion.
I agree that the front grill looks very ugly like many BMW with grasshopper like looks. it reminds me of Prius 4 ugly and almost all Hyundai these days with weird looks.
@@autogefuehl Which one is better compared to the new Mercedes-Benz V?
Finally, someone outside of Asia is reviewing the Lexus LM seriously.
The LM is officially available in Europe now.
This car was only avaible in Asia until 2022
@@marcoadamberger4456 I know that this second-gen LM is the first time it's available outside of the Asian market, I've been following this vehicle (I'm a fan the Alphard models too) closely ever since the LM originally debuted in 2019.
I'm in the US and this makes a lot more sense for American buyers compared to the three-row TX (Grand Highlander) SUV that's currently sold in my region. Too bad we'll never get it.😞😓
Actually, it is a pretty good idea using Minivan as a luxurious business car. It's definitely roomy than any sedans or SUVs.
The ones saying minivans are terrible as luxury car are westerners, we Asians have been enjoying Toyota Alphard for the last 15 years 😂
The great things about alphard/lexus lm is that they are build exclusively as a luxury vehicle and not a commercial one like the merc v class for example. So you wont find a commercial version of the alphard anywhere in the world
@@rhs_0938yes. They don't get it at all.
This style is very common in Japan. a lot of families using this style
Plus for "city" driving / getting chauffeured around it's MUCH better. You clothes get all messed up in Sedan/SUVs while in this you can just "get in" without messing up clothes.
Finally they realized what I have always been saying. Limousines are crap. True comfort is in a minivan. Large TV lie flat seats, perfect! So much more room in this than in a stretched limousine. Perfect. I would 100% use this if even if I can afford a Rolls-Royce
People who don't get this, are all looks and no substance. And there are many of them amongst us.
Agree this is the best as a luxury car.
@@TsLeng luxury SUVs and minivans always ride much worse than the comparable sedans... you do get more room but that's about it
@@BrianHYX not quite. SUVs give a bit more room than sedans but still less than a van type body.
For the ride, it's just engineering. Nobody is complaining about the bentayga and cullinan SUVs. Don't forget, ride not handling is the key here.
@@TsLeng handling does affect ride tho. No matter how you engineer the suspension the SUVs and vans will always lean more when cornering and the back end will inevitably twist more which results in passengers feeling less comfortable. Sure they are still very good but my point is they will never match what a sedan feels like
@@BrianHYX have you ever seen what suspension do to combat pitch and roll nowadays? An active system like the Range Rover's will corner flat. They can even be set to roll to the inside of a corner. Partner that with image based road sensing suspension and really... It makes no difference what vehicle it is.
Granted the Lexus has none of that fancier stuff but you comment is generic I assume.
But I digress. Any type of driving prioritising passenger comfort (the point of luxury cars) it does not matter, not in the Lexus or any other luxury vehicle engineered to a sufficient level.
It looks great, in the Uk, already 200 preordered!!!!
The 7 seater version actually looks amazing
Never mind the front end - it has REAL buttons on the steering wheel!
hashtagcapacitivebs 😀
Way better than an 'S' class for the target market. Which is ferrying around VIP's, CEO's, High politicians etc on their work/corporate assignments. The front is not ugly at all. Well done Lexus for redefining ultra luxury transport.
Redefining? Not quite, atleast for the Asian regions. Everyone in Asia is already enjoying this for tens of years
Classic Alphards, Lucida, have been doing its job for a while. Good if you have a large cohesive family, which is a factor for Asians but never for Westerners.
@@PlatinumNath You do realize that the video is from an European perspective? :3
@@mottom2657 Yes, I do. Just wanted to imply from my statement that it's a missed out experience outside of most Asian countries
OMG you said WAY BETTER? just go to carshow in asia next time and you feel it by yourself and then compare it with the s class, im done with that for me s class is still the king for the seat and comfortable maybe RR the king but s class one of those
17:40 in a hybrid vehicle you don’t have to turn off the power to save fuel like you do in a normal car. Just leave the car on and the engine will stay switched off. Accessories use power from the hybrid battery which will easily keep those things running for around 15 minutes or more without turning on the engine. I’ve waited to pick up people in my hybrid Auris/Corolla with the power turned on and the engine stays off for up to 15, sometimes 20 minutes. After that the engine may switch on for 2 minutes to top up. So no need to put it in accessory mode and drain the 12V. Just a tip four future filming 🙂
Yeah you have to keep the main power on indeed!
@@autogefuehl I have the latest generation RX and never had any battery issues. You start the car and the hybrid system will begin the automatic battery management, starting and stopping the engine as needed to charge the batteries. The "problem" you are mentioning is non-existent since the vast majority of toyota hybrid owners know how to correctly use the system.
I little research on your part would surely help to correctly inform your viewers.
The level of luxury in this LM is how it should have been for the LX600.
Well said
Truly. All Lexus 'L' models should be on the same level of luxury.
LX600 has a 4-seater version in selected market
It has LX 600 VIP
Exactly!!
im the one who likes the exterior 😊
probably the best looking minivan
Hehe you re welcome 😎 interesting to know, didn’t expect that!
I do too, so you aren't alone lol
Literally the best looking ❤
Will probably be the best cross country tourer out there. It just isn't trail ready so trips into national parks will require being extremely careful.
The front end has grown on me, especially in that pretty red. Not awful, but lexuses old design language will be missed, because that really was distinct, and even pretty in the lc, es, rx and ls
I, for one, like the front end 😅 It's much better than the spindle grille/body treatment in the new TX three-row crossover, and it's more bearable than the new 7 Series' front end 😄
Much better than BMWs 😁
Lol I love Lexus and BMW grilles. Even when they're "in your face".
@@TD1237me too. Moreover, isn't that the whole point?
@@Solotocius I suppose so lol
It’s ok that you have bad taste. Looks like a fucking puffer fish
We’ve been running the previous gen LM 300h for a few years now. It’s a good MPV overall but a more refined engine (more torque) would go a long way. It’s a heavy car and it just doesn’t like being accelerated too fast.
Personal experience wise, Toyota/Lexus don't seems to have "sleep mode" & the car itself often draw itself dry if you accidentally left it "on" too long.
Yeah seems so
How dare you leave your car for long time...
i love it! looks super cool.
Your image quality and cadence have evolved. I noticed you are trying new things and as a long-time viewer, it's magnificent to see. Happy to witness your growth!
I enjoyed watching the Video. I actually quite like It 😊
Ideal car for big family trips. And looks are 🔥
We want more Leah content in the videos I know she barely said anything but she was awesome 🙂👌
Great job Thomas. What a unique and interesting vehicle. Not my cup of tea but I bet it's built superbly. Lexus have done a great job with the dynamics and ambience. 👍
The Front is the best looking part of this car in my opinion
Yes it’s super cool 😂
The base version (Toyota Alphard) is popular in Asia because for Asian, you basically get the maximum amount of car for the money. And yes, the captain chair gives a commanding feeling. As for the driver, it felt halfway driving a bus. Despite that, Toyota Alphard has a bad rep because most drivers are assholes and the passengers always felt entitled.
It’s imposing, not ugly. Like a Great Dane. Experience this car as a passenger, and it truly is beautiful.
They somehow managed to beat BMW on the dimension of the front grill
they started the whole huge grill thing, so it's okay I guess.
I loooooove the look of it!! It’s the wild Japanese design that makes it completely
This is stunning !! ❤
Thomas!! Hope you had a nice little nap time while waiting for someone to come jump the engine 👀
👍😂
All of a sudden at @8:47 the front end of the BMW on the screen looks a lot better!
Speaking of front ends, not a fan of the one on the Lexus. I think it looks OK from sides and rear, and the interior of course is amazing.
Tbh I'm in love with the design❤.
18:35 Thomas!! you dog!! 😂
Thanks Thomas and Lia! 🎉
I don't think the design is weird/ ugly since Lexus LM or Toyota Alphard are very common in my area (maybe I'm used to see it) but it's very interesting to hear how European perceived Van as Luxury Car.
This is a luxury van though? It's not like a Ford Galaxy or some other cheaper vans with standard comforts. This is luxurious.
I think it looks good. ❤
Lea has a nice smile :)
This in Asia is extremely pretty.
Was lucky to ride in the new GL8 few times and also in a Vito Maybach. But the Lexus is just the best
Stayed in HK for few weeks, and saw more Alphards (the Toyota version of this car) than S classes, A8s or 7 series.
People in Asia love luxury vans. Cant beat the legroom in a 4 seater 5+ meters van.
The front reminds me of the cowcatchers. You used to get on steam trains in America.
YES I LIKE THE DESIGN
This is beautiful, well designed
18:44 Thomas you baaad boi! 😈😀 Amazing review as always!
Great review Thomas, thank you!.
I think the full lay flat configuration is kinda weird. The perfect application for this is 4 seats in the rear, facing each other for business / vip airport transfer.
Your idea reminds me of the newer MB-Maybach Pullman limousines.
@@mottom2657 Yes I think thats who Lexus are targeting tbh. Whether Lexus is considered full luxury is another matter. Imo they are good, premium if you will, but not luxury, in the same category as BMW 7 series, MB S class etc.
The front looks amazing.
looks fantastic
I love the design
wow! ,What a beautiful Van, love it
I cannot say I love its looks, but I could live with that. Anyway, I think this vehicle is aimed at hotels and similar establishments. I would not mind one picking me up at the airport and taking me to my hotel. I am thinking od Dubai and the likes.
5:07 the wooden toilet in the background really makes the vibe full-fledged.
i like it its not ugly :) but i would change the grill to full black
I think the front is strong looking, not too bad. I'm surprised they're selling it in Europe; they'll sell three in the whole of Europe.
No. The company has already placed an order for 200 units in the U.K.
Nah preorders have already exceeded Lexus' expectations
Already plenty of privately imported Alphards on UK roads
@ddnn974 If 31 registered Alphards in the whole of the UK is plenty to you, then yes, there are plenty. This figure also includes the old models. I live in the UK, and have seen maybe two or three old Alphards ever, so to me these are extremely rare here.
lm design is so beautiful and flawless, you cant say a things is ugly when you just see that things few times
I went to the local car show in my area in February, and I sat in a Mercedes S class with a reclining seat, and you know what also had reclining seats? The Toyota Sienna. Toyota sienna is higher up, has 2 reclining seats, better gas milage, a TV, more room, you can bring your friends too! Safe to say that the sienna is the best vehicle ever made 🤣
Dude stop embarrassing yourself, the sienna is an inferior product to the Toyota Vellfire, Alphard, Noah, Voxy and especially this LM, there's no minivan that's offered in America that on the same level as these true Japanese minivans, none.
@@deet4895lmao the LM sure can be better but the Alphard is just a narrowed Sienna.
@@lexus3983 The LM is based on the Alphard, the Alphard is an luxury minivan, the sienna isn't built to the same standard as the Alphard, they are NOT! The same vehicle and don't share any commonalities.
Bold decision to bring Lexus LM outside Asian markets. It very popular in Asian, they have a plebeian version called Toyota Alphard and Vellfire in Asian.
Those "plebian versions" are also very luxurious, especially the Velflfire that I looked at
Love it ❤
Love the carrr so much
lol the face you made to match the front end was hilarious
Awesome review as usual with Thomas. As for the vehicle, there is nothing really new or groundbreaking tech in it. Its a combination of stuff we already seen. Realibility would be good tho.
U have seen another vehicle give u a 48 inch split screen and fully configurable? U have seen any other vehicle give you fully flat reclinable electric powered seats? U have seen another vehicle give you two detachable smartphones to control everything in the rear? Stop with the hate or negativism, this is top notch luxury not available on any of its rivals simple fact
It's common to see a Lexus LM in Malaysia, Thomas.
There should be a rear shade, especially for such reclining seats
I like the look / design.
Need this in the US. It would do so well.
Thomas you are the BEST !
Great sense of humor for a German guy 😂
😂
I love it.... much better than its German competitors
I don't see this front as ugly. Because I'm used to this dimension of grille which is typical to Japanese Vans... But yes, it is maybe a bit too much. 😊
Definitely think it’s beautiful
If the badge was European everyone would say its beautiful.
See for urself if thats true: th-cam.com/video/7T1SY5-j5mw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Hv38vTw1jejnfcKv
I don’t think so , it’s ugly wherever you live .
Not true. How many people have you heard calling the new BMWs beautiful? An oversized grille is an oversized grille.
@@colingarner6175it's not ugly for us Southeast Asian.
@@Zim___You Southeast Asians are wrong. BMW is ruining it's design for you.
The front looks like Klopp when he grimaces
The pursuit of perfection 🏆
Welcome to Cracow 😊
hey Thomas, what car do you personally own?
it's beautiful 😻
Medusa would be an appropriate name. I turned to stone looking at that face.
Thankfully, seeing Lea smile restored me back to good health. Phew! Grazie, bella 👏🏻
😁👍
The Honda Element had rear seats that folded much like the 6/7 seater shown here.
I love that grill and the over all design.
The only thing those reclining seats are missing is a complimentary dentist!
Nice box.
So, how was that little break that you had ?
In Asia many executives get driven around in luxury minivans like this. It’s like being in first class on a plane. I love it. Unfortunately I’m moving back to Canada and can’t buy one in canad
Thomas, the rear seat folding mechanism, is the same as in the Toyota Fortuner. Has been like that since the 1st Generation Fortuner...
And same setup as my old 80 series Land Cruiser.
A Cylon , from 80's tv show "Galatica"?
This vehicle looks comfortable AF!!
Please also review the New Rolls Royce Phantom Vlll EWB series 2
As mentioned. A rare review outside of Ausralasia. A very cool whateveritis.
18:40 didnt find the OF link, where is it
Most definitely is not ugly. It is truly a special car. Clearly the Germans are loosing the against the Japanese and other Asians car brands.
1st, great video, good car
العزل ممتاز باللكزس 👌🇯🇵❤️
Dude-the front end looks great IMHO. You should also see the 2024 Alphard and Vellfire
I thought just one second at 2:46 'What the??' and then totally understood LOL kkkkk.
👍😁
As always
I watched this at 4k, full width and full length.
Lexus needs to bring some of these design elements to the their current line up including that unique grill, rose gold trim, and that beautiful non shiny wood.
👑 THE FIRST CLASS QUALITY 👌😎👍
It looked like Thomas was in a hearse, laid, hands position and all. Only the coffin was missing.
I have to disagree! Out of all the minivans this is one of the best looking in my opinion. To each their own!
I like it Thomas. Why? Because it is different 😉
🙏😎
Honestly, I love the exterior design. But like you said, everyone has their own preference.
Beautiful Toyota
wil lexus lm come to norway
This kind of car (body type) has been originally designed for tight old streets of Tokyo and other cities of Japan specially the slide doors! idt the in the US it’s been needed except for nightclubs/hotels concierge 😜
Tbh if i was driven around i’d totally love this rather than a 7 series. Yes it doesn’t look as “cool” but pretty sure you’re gonna get way more interesting conversations
