@@weswheel4834 I thought the joke was that it's such a bad thing to say that it's funny that Jez thinks it's a good thing! Maybe everyone in this thread is being sarcastic?!

One of my first jobs was a clerical role for local government. There were a lot of older, technophobic people there, si i'd often get their equivalent of a weeks work done in like a couple of hours simply because I was aware of the existence of CTRL-C and CTRL-V, after which I'd spend the rest of my week playing flash games. I feel sorry for clerical workers of the future - when the younger generation is doing the hiring in 20 years time, they'll actually be expected to do some work.
@@Christian-rn1ur Lol that's brilliant. I remember doing mainly clerical stuff in some work experience and spending most of my time playing minesweeper.

I love how sincere Mark is when he says "I literally have no idea what that means", he's forgotten about his magazine and can't believe Jeremy would say such a thing.
I love the acting in the early seasons. Barbara's face when they wink at each other, Mark's reaction to Jez's grimace, in fact the performances as a whole were outstanding.
In his defense, when else would you be professionally "sorting things" in a lower income environment than an office? A library maybe? Thats pretty much it though, stupid question really.
The scene before when they're talking about the interview while drinking in the bathroom. Jez's little laugh to himself after he thinks "but I don't think I'll be getting the job". So good!
It's one of the rare shows that managed to do many series (nine of them) and not start copying old storylines. It is one of the most well-written TV Shows in history.
I'd argue that the show went completely off the boil towards the end and bordered on boring. I think about when they introduced Dobby as a character was around the time its began to lose its charm and started staling.
Oh man I remember interviews like that! Going for a dead-end data entry/call centre job and being asked what you can bring to the roll and why you want to work with them. IM BROKE AND DESPERATE!
I love that TH-cam shows us the section people have rewatched the most. There's a spike the size of Venezuela's inflation rate just when Jez pulls the face.
@@SpaceMissile Earlier in the episode Jeremy went into Marks room to look for porn. He didnt find any, but he found a bunch of fantasy RPG-type magazines and decided to toss off to a picture of an elf princess thing. So this clip is double hilarious because it was Jeremy who wanked off to it, but Mark has, as he said, literally no idea what he means.
Peep Show The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Territory, on the morning of December 7, 1941. i have to admit, i was skeptical about this show when i started it, then i watched this scene, and when he pulls that face, i laughed so hard i couldnt stop watching...ive watched the entire show 4 times now
The funny thing is when he finally joined JLB in the Series 6 premiere, he was in fact doing really well. He was even invited to go to the pub with his colleagues, a privilege Mark never even found out about until Jez told him. Too bad JLB shut down in the same episode and everyone lost their jobs haha.

This is such a crescendo of hilarious moments all firing off together, and then comes the moment where Jeremy turns it around and starts pyramid selling, only for the finale of mark *literally not knowing what that means*
Jez pulling that face is the moment that Peep Show stopped being just that weird post-pub sitcom that I occasionally caught on Channel Four, and instead became one of the pillars of my 20s.
What makes me laugh most about this scene is that the only reason he does the "face" is because he thinks she is being charmed by him
+isonic Too funny... such great writing
hahaha it's brilliant XD
Yep, you might almost say it's ironic.
No shit sherlock.
Well she was being charmed by him.
I swear, that face that Jeremy makes at Barbara is one of the funniest things that's ever happened on Peep Show.
Yes absolutely agree. That's why I couldn't resist clicking on this video, I had to see it again!

I think it was in character, jez mentions sleeping with guys regularly throughout the series
I love how Marks denial of fancying elves and pixies makes him look 10x more guilty haha
Fancying elves and pixies is no crime!
I feel the question of my fancying Orks and Goblins has already been answered by my "I do not fancy Orks or Goblins" t-shirt.
I actually thought his denial was relatively convincing, given how poorly he lies under other circumstances
I think he genuniley doesn't hes just a fantasy enthusiast. Mark seems way to embarrassed to actually wank to that sort of thing
@David Nash season 1 Mark and season 6 Mark are not really the same character imo
Honestly that lady nails the HR/interview role. She reminds of all my failed/ unsuccessful job interviews and the women that conducted them. Watching this scene almost gives me anxiety.

she is such a vibe I'm serious
"More like doing a crossword than a tracheotomy"
That's actually brilliant bullshitting.
Yeah it's a clever analogy. Jez wasn't really wrong that he could have been swinging it there
It's so good, it's almost worth stealing it and hoping that the interviewer doesn't remember seeing it on Peep Show.
It may also be a reference to a TV show called 'The Smoking Room' which starred Robert Webb and crosswords.

To be fair, what more can you say for a clerical role? "Yes I have a PhD in filing and I'm passionate about getting administrative systems in order."

The writer who came up with that face twitch deserves the key to whatever town he lives in.

jesse armstrong and sam bainer or something

Such a shame Peep Show finished, each of the series was just funny and witty.
It's one of the rare shows that managed to do many series (nine of them) and not start copying old storylines.
It is one of the most well-written TV Shows in history.
Except from all the times when they copied their old storylines.
They only started doing that in season 9, which is when the series does start to run a bit stale for me personally.
