"Oh piss yourself, stop pissing yourself. It's not that simple" That's just amazingly funny writing. Webb's acting in this this scene is just top notch too and helps to make it so brilliant.
This is probably the best scene across all of Peep Show. It feels like the moment the first four series were building up to and nothing after it ever quite reached these urine-soaked heights.
The look of utter defeat and dehumanisation in Jeremy's face and his voice when he says "you're telling me to piss myself", is just so perfect and hilarious! He nails the line between funny and sad so perfectly, as does the whole scene.
that look from Sophie at 3:32 is honestly heartbreaking. That's the moment her character was essentially broken and she never recovered. Complete alcoholic by the end of the show's run
Olivia Coleman is that good of an actress, she made A complete tosser loveable, then made herself into A complete tosser, and somehow went on to win an Oscar
I’ve got a mate who always eats chips and Mayo on a night out. We always make him sit on the edge of the wall far away from us & just shout “piss yourself” at him until he’s finished.
At 2:28 that perfect look of betrayal and despair that not only is his best friend telling him to do something horrible and humiliating but knowing that he's definitely going to do it
That coin flip thing is actually a trick if you're having troublw deciding between two things. Assign one thing to one side of the coin, flip it, and then dont look at it. You'll be hoping it comes up one way or another when you flip it, and that's what you go with cos that's what you really want
Marks coin thing is how I make desisions a lot of the time honestly, it's the result that brings clarity, in the moment of being beholden to a decision you instantly know which one your truly wanted. And in the rare instance you're still unsure, just go with the coin.
Yeno what I enjoyed most about this episode is the build up to this point for a few episodes. I knew as soon as he got engaged he wasn’t gonna go through with it.
There's many a great scene in the series, but when I first saw this moment, I laughed so hard it was painful. It's up there with Ted and Dougal writing their Eurovision song, The Prince Regent's scene with Edmund, clucking 'luck luck luck..' and Jay coming off Neil's motorbike. For me anyway.
At 0:07 he says "shit, there's mum and dad" and then the camera proceeds to show people who are clearly not his parents if the Christmas episode is to be believed.
I love how this show you start by feeling bad for Mark and the fact he never seems to get what he deserves. But by the end instead of developing and learning from his mistakes, you just end up thinking he's a piece of shit loser who learns nothing haha
“Oh shit, shit, oh my god, this has got to be a dream. Nothing this bad could ever happen in reality!” The funniest line in all of Peep Show delivered to perfection by David Mitchell.
Tell them I’d doing a Steven Fry, we’re in Brussels I’m eating chips with mayonnaise, I’m on the edge! You’ve found a blanket under the garage door and I’m wearing an overcoat. 🤣😭
UGH. I don't think there's anything else in this entire world which ever made me cringe-laugh as much as this, holy shit. This show NAILS the cringe humor better than any other show aiming for it that I've seen
It was a joke everyone. A wedding joke.
What a... brilliant joke!
A simple wedding lampoon
"that wasn't very wedding-y"
@@alanparker9898 No it wasn't... I apologise.
It was a stag thing. And It really REALLY worked

Webb’s comedic timing is impeccable
SURPRISE. IT'S ME.
The break in his voice is hilarious.
What a... brilliant joke!
I’ve surprised you
Sounds like Blackadder at the end
This is probably the best scene across all of Peep Show. It feels like the moment the first four series were building up to and nothing after it ever quite reached these urine-soaked heights.
The Moroccan Dinner Party was pretty damn close, though.
Agreed, there was the odd moment afterwards but if this had of been the finale it would have been a fitting one
The Barney sucking off super hans episode was hilarious. As was the paintballing one.
This should've been the series finale
Eating a burnt dog scene.
Jez totally could have got that prayer bucket without anyone seeing.
Tom Esteves I always thought that, or mark could fucking have done, I'd help a friend
Tom Esteves there's no such thing as a prayer bucket.
Why is there a bucket in a church?
John Todd
Well Jeremy is quite mean to Mark so why would he?
Captain Rex Mark is way worse to Jeremy
Remember kids, never marry out of embarrassment.
@Christopher Marlowe is it the middle ages?
Mark wasn't the only one embarrassed that day.
Make sure you don't marry someone that is bound to become an alcoholic ball pit witch, though actual witches themselves are not bad.
Just never marry
“You bought a bank out of social embarrassment? I sometimes buy The Big Issue out of social embarrassment, I don’t buy a FUCKING BANK.”
The delivery of the “this has got to be a dream” line is just perfect
One of the best scenes in the whole series!
One of the best scenes on any show or movie, ever.

Shout out to the Organist who, despite the fact that the wedding had run well over time due to Mark jilting Sophie, still kept on playing throughout.
Oh, no, God, no, no, it's not a jilting, I'm going to tell her right away. A jilt is at the altar.
At 2:28 that perfect look of betrayal and despair that not only is his best friend telling him to do something horrible and humiliating but knowing that he's definitely going to do it

That's just deciding it yourself with extra steps.
"How many missed calls have you got?"
"...28"
"That's bullshit, I've got 73"
Don't know why I find that so funny
probably because it's funny I'd imagine
Because even though it's shameful, Mark is getting competitive over how many missed calls he has. It's absurdly petty.
Enjoyed the slight nod and soft acknowledging blink in response
That feeling of fun reflects how happy you are that it's not happening to you.
Reminds me of my ex.
'you found a blanket under the garage door & I'm wearing an overcoat' hahahaha love how Mark thinks that could save him from the wedding
This is maybe by favorite scene, I wish I could see it again for the first time. I couldn't breathe
0:42 Mark’s face and sense of panic during this line are fucking amazing
The look on Jeremy’s face is priceless you can tell he’s about to laugh every time he’s on camera in this scene
When I first saw this scene the first time, I literally laugh so freaking hard my stomach hurts 😂 To me this is the funniest comedic scene of all time
Every shot of this show is brilliant at getting that second-hand embarrassment right through you.
What a brilliant joke.
How is this channel not more popular? Peep show was massively under rated
Dontbethat Guy agree
@B Roli Its ratings in the UK were never very high either. But it earned huge critical acclaim and a cult following.
@B Roli I think the most it ever got was 2 million viewers or an audience share of around 10%. It was airing on Channel 4, not BBC or ITV.
"And _not_ in a good way."
Jez’s homosexuality always finds a way to shine through 😂
Every other year I return to this video just to recalibrate my perception of life.
This series elevates "uncomfortable moments" to an art form. Nothing will ever top it.
I honestly thought Inbetweeners had any show I’ve seen beat in that department until I saw this one lol
I never noticed that Mark's mum and dad are shown here, and the same actors aren't kept by Seasonal Beatings
"I'm eating chips and mayonnaise, am on the EDGE" Mark Corrigan
This is the first episode of Peep Show I ever watched and I instantly fell in love
In my top three crying moments of all time. Along with Father Ted and Dougal writing a Lovely Horse and Jay crashing his motorcycle..
"Just. Play. The. Fcking. Note."
“Oh my god this has got to be a dream nothing this bad can ever happen in reality”

"Are you doing already??"😂

All this shows problems would be solved if Jez and Mark just got a civil partnership.
When he tried to mop it up 💀💀
“I’m ordering you to stop”

this had me in stitches. I was literally in tears from laughing so hard the first time I saw it.
This scene is hilariously scarring.
"might not be bad to look like ive gone a tiny bit mad!"
2:05 the fact Jeremy instantly puts his phone away, with zero intention to send the joint text that Mark requested is a classic Jez move.
Although it's all hilarious I think the funniest thing is when Mark starts trying to soak up the piss in a desperate attempt to remain hidden
the scene that made me wanna watch the whole series
One of the best comedy scenes ever
This show is so funny and stressful at the same time.
Mark is good here. He is acting like he’s on ecstasy or something

Pretty much binge-watched Peep Show during lockdown, don't know why I never watched it before!!
I remember being in uncontrollable hysterics when my friends and I first saw this on channel 4
