Huge help! I have been rocking my CMR for a while now, love it. Finally got a can and it fired 10 rounds and stopped feeding. I figured it was something to do with being suppressed but nope, checked my firing pin after watching this and BAM it was snapped. I should have known since the firing pin on my PMR also snapped a couple of years ago. shame shame Keltec........
So glad I could help! In their defense they sent me a new firing pin for free, and it looks like it's a different design than the original, so hopefully they made a change that will prolong this. My CMR is no fun to shoot suppressed lol
I bought a CMR30 on Friday took it to the range on Sunday charged the first round it fired and when it went to cycle the bolt hung in the open position I played with it finally got it to accept another round but it wouldn’t fire ejected the shell and the bolt hung again played and played with it at the range but couldn’t get it to close and cycle again, took it home and put some oil on it and finally got it to close again but still wouldn’t fire so I filled stripped it cleaned it checked it for burrs and put it back together it chambered better but still wouldn’t fire,so I did some research and ran across your video and it was the closest thing I could find to the problem I was having you said yours happened after around a thousand rounds but mine happened after the first round.I carried it back to the gun store and they were going to send it back to Keltec because I wanted the gun I’ve been waiting to get one for close to a year,I wasn’t worried about the gun being junk because I have researched them thoroughly before purchasing one and couldn’t find anything negative about the gun anyway the shop called me this week and they said they got ahold of another new one and was just going to swap them out so I wouldn’t have to wait I also purchased the PMR30 while I was there I picked the CMR up yesterday and took it and the PMR to the range today which is Fathers Day I put a couple hundred rounds through the CMR and it worked flawlessly put maybe a hundred rounds through the PMR and it was flawless to I guess it was just a fluke on the first one but stranger things have happened oh well I never did find out what happened to the first one but would love to know. Thanks great video
You paid the Kel Tec tax. They're one of the most innovative companies that make very cool firearms. The drawback to that is that their quality control is shit. Im glad my video helped. It had exactly the effect I wanted. I love my CMR and PMR, They're both great guns the quality is just hit or miss, I also have P3AT that I find to be the gun I carry most.
Well by now everybody who has these two guns should know that anything lower than 40 grain ammo, there will be many problems! I used 50 grain ammo right out of the box and it was a Tac Driver but when I tried some of my 30 grain ammo, it will not Cycle them at all! Mine also loves CCI Maxi Mags 40 Grain bullets! My cmr 30 is having feeding problems as the hammer spring is way to tight so the bolt won’t go all the way back to reliably feed the ammo. How can I loosen that up. It’s hard to charge when the hammer is so tight.
There's no doubt Kel Tec's quality is questionable, but I really respect how much they innovate. I have REALLY good luck with reliability in both mine if I only load the mags to 25. The CMR runs really well after it, and the mags breaking in.
Yup, my CMR took more that a bit of tweaking to get it to run correctly. I have the MCarbo feed ramp, but not the mag release -- I did the "five second magazine fix" on my mags instead. I also load the mags to only 25 rounds with my Maglula loading tool. It rarely fails to feed now.
Mine wasn't reliable for awhile but after the magazines, and rifle wore in, I haven't had a problem with it until this happened. I own 3 kel tec firearms and they're definitely on the cheap side of manufacturing, but I really respect how innovative they are.

I want both of them for my wife...but I can't buy her a firearm that's hit or miss Keltec rides on there innovation only, there QC guy/gal needs to be fired and there management needs a kick in the butt they invent cool ass guns, but only work somtimes and with certain ammo...to me that's a poor ass excuse for a gun manufacturer.
@@stephenszabo2361 I've had three different hole punchers from them, they are almost a kit, as in 'polish this and do that', then they are great. It would drive the cost up, and I think it is worth it, if they would do that to all of them, but they dont. So there will be tweaking needed is more how I would put it. I had to get support from them for a broken extractor once where they insisted that I send it in and they would install it (not hard), I did and it came back with a new barrel in addition to a new extractor, I asked them why, they said they updated the coatings so the replaced it while it was in the shop. I was impressed. I was not impressed (3 years ago) trying to get email support. But, I like them and can deal with it. Out of the box they do need tweaking though, so I completely get why it's not for everyone. It's not a Kimber, but its not meant to be, I guess.

Thank you for this honest post it helped my decision
Thanks for the video! My firing pin broke at around 1500 rounds. KelTec's new firing pin design seems like it's been upgraded to enhance reliability.
I think so too, I went ahead and bought 2 just in case 😂

That doesn't change the fact that the firing pin broke
Plenty of people that use the correct ammo are experiencing problems with these weapons. If only it were that simple.
Interesting, my lever guns have a two piece firing pin also. Yep ... broken firing pins .... comes with owning guns I suppose.
First time its ever happened to me, and I own and use mine frequently. I suppose I've been lucky.

I just replaced firing pin,, I think if they adjusted hammer face angle , this problem might go away. still a BLAST to shoot
Both my pmr30s and my cmr30 with Mcarbo parts are jam a Matics. Only reason I keep them is they are a blast to shoot when they work.

Did you fix it
Yes, just needed the new firing pin.
Mine has failed to feed since day one. Stayed away from Keltc after this.

My suggestion would be to return it to KelTec if can't get it working.

Which fore grip you using 🤔?
Just the Magpul RVG

Rimfire weapons don't have firing pins.
