- This is a tabletop review of the KEL-TEC PMR-30 .22WMR. In this video we will discuss the history and development of the firearm, and provide side by side comparison with other popular models to establish scale and help visualize what it would be like carry this based on familiar platforms. We will outline all of the features, and how these features may or may not be important to you based on your personal needs. Range performance will also be discussed along with different tested methods of carry and how comfortable it is to carry on a regular basis. Last, we will provide an overall opinion of how this firearm stacks up for concealed carry purposes. Thanks for watching!
I don't own the pmr BUT I do have its big brother the cmr 30 and absolutely love it ! It's my first kel tek ever and I'm very impressed. Bought it second hand , cleaned it up and fired the heck out of it . Ran like a sewing machine . What a gun !

I have 2 of these. I bought one of the first one's that came out. It gave me endless problems for a while. After doing some polishing and tweaking it works fine now. Bought one of the new ones a few months ago. Zero issues with it. The original model has a 2.5lb trigger. The second was about 4lb. Love these pistols. I have 8 mags for mine and have zero issues with them but I never load more than 25 rds.

That's good to know- I'm picking up a new one tomorrow and hoping I hold my mouth just right whilst loading up the first few magazines. I'm just stubborn enough to try something that everyone else says they're having a problem with. Glad you've had some good luck with your pistols. I'm thinking it will make a great rancher's companion on an ATV on the farm.
I have the cmr, so same mags, and 1000% agree that loading past 25 creates most of the problems. It’s a combination between the spring strength and the softness of the brass. 25 is the max
I have one on like a layaway plan cuz I picked up a 30-06 the other day and I went in to buy ammo literally the next day and I saw that PMR 30 sitting in the case and I always said if I saw one I would buy it. First one I've ever seen in a gun shop apparently they're difficult to locate unless you order them online. 450 bucks new to magazines and all the stuff that comes with it. I'm excited as hell to get this. I just might make it my new carry piece it depends on performance. I'm going to put it through its paces and see what happens. I'm contemplating ordering that parts kit I forgot the name of the company that makes it. But it pretty much replaces everything in the pistol that could possibly become a problem. But I'd like to save the money and not buy it if I don't have to but I don't really like the idea of a polymer feed ramp. We'll see what happens. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I had issues with mine until I put about 100 rounds through it. The gun would make an awesome carry weapon if it was just a bit smaller. The .22 WMR is a very under appreciated round, in my opinion. And the price is way better than the 5.7x28.

Amen brother! 5.7 is great but is so costly its more than 45acp! 22 Win Mag is America's 5.7! And alot cheaper, a very old cartridge.

Got rid of my girls pmr30 for a 5.7
By the time you figure cost of the pustol and the upgrades you may as well have a 5.7 power and dependability.
The only downfall of the 5.7 is the cost of ammo.
Now S&W came out with 1 even cheaper than ruger and someone else did too.

5.7 from a pistol does what .22 WMR does from a rifle. Big difference.

Thanks for your post. I admire your honesty in admitting the PMR 30 exceeded your expectations. I've had mine for about a month and made one trip to the range. I fired about 100 round about half CCI MaxiMag and the rest with Hornady 30 gr. vmax 22 Mag. On my trip the pistol fired without incident with both rounds. The only odd comment I got from a friend was how loud the pistol is. I hadn't told him what I was shooting that day. I'm a happy camper.
yep...after I ran off a full magazine, some folks at the range asked me what it was!
I have 2 both have been amazing. No issues at all. Some complain about the grip size, no way to make it smaller for the 22mag. It has to be large. I'm 6'4 260 and have gorilla hands so no problem for me. I carry a PMR 30 and a CMR 30 when working cows with calf's for coyotes. I would like to see it in 17 HMR.
Own two and they run fine. Upgraded the feed ramp to stainless steel and extended barrel. Funnest gun to shoot next to the sub-2000!!!
I brought the CMR30 and liked it so much that I brought the PMR30.
Both just run and run.
Then the lightbulb went on. Because of the low recoil this pistol would be perfect for recoil sensitive people. So I brought a second one for my wife/daughter to train
with.
I find the ammo at local gun stores, $18 per 50 rounds.
$27 per 150 rounds at Walmart so it’s not cheap.
CCI and a few others have been doing a pretty good job of keeping ammo on the shelves. Hopefully, in time it will go back down...we saw a similar increase in 2012-2013 and then it slowly eased back down. Thanks for watching!
I was the complete opposite. Got the CMR-30 first and liked it so much I got the PMR-30. Love them both
@@JefferyPierce exact same scenario lol..n both run n run ..guess I'm used to paying attention to mag loading from the cp33 lol..the cmr/pmr was easy compared to that learning curve ..
I was buying .22 mag ammo online when it was $9-$12/50 rds. Glad I got a bunch then..

I personally found the grip to be very comfortable in my smallish hand. I wear a small glove size for comparison. It appears it would be a bit bulky but I think its triangle shape actually helps out here. I purchased this for use as a concealed carry.
@Mike Last Pass; I thot I was ONLY man in America to have "smallish hands"( and manhood of less than 18", and not be carbon-copy stunt double of Chuk Norass(sorry, personal exp of beat-downs in the '80's) However, talking Kel-Tec here. I, too, had doubts about PMR30. Even P17. But, bot P17. Bot one for wife, too. We adore them!! When we use them, and see results, not busy looking @ them, nit-picken, we are happy!! They cc easily, comfortably. We saving the coins4 PMR30 now. The grip looks weird, but, obviously works. To us, that's most important. We had an old cheapo revolver in .22M, but because of cyl gap, had to wear 3 sets of ear protection when firing. It found new home in 2015. We miss the cal, so we're anxiously counting the coins!!
I’ve had two of these for over ten years. Love them. Just FYI to new owners… only use 40 grain ammo. It won’t cycle 30 grain. Load the mags correctly! By hand. Every time I’ve seen someone have problems it’s because they Fd up loading the mags. Get yourself some SS mag springs from Keltec. They are heavier and better feed. And lastly, use grease on the rails. You do those simple things, and this gun will never fail
It's strange. I have 2 of these and they run 30 grs with no problem. I use only CCI ammo. I understand how it could cause a problem but it hasn't for me.
@@dubltap7216 ya it’s weird. Both mine are gen1. So maybe that’s why? But anytime I tried 30, it would shoot 2,3,4 rounds then misfeed. So I e just always stuck w 40. I keep them greased well, and replaced all the magazines springs. I honestly never have a problem w them. I don’t know how all these guys have so many problems and shit?
MCarbo has custom upgrade parts for reliabilty/ longevity.. installation videos also.. bought the stainless feed ramp and slide springs .. they make a whole kit, but not cheap..

I appreciate you giving it a second chance. Nice coverage. I've only had mine for a few weeks and cycled a little over 100 rounds through it (CCI 40 gr & Hornady 30 gr) with one FTE from each.
I didn't get it as an everyday carry, just fun to shoot. What really stood out to me was how far the empties eject... WOW. I've measured empties out as far as 50 feet.
Also... FYI, It's not recommended to dry fire a rimfire gun.
MCarbo has great upgrade parts for the PMR30.. I installed the new stainless feed ramp and slide springs.. They have a whole kit for upgrades, but not inexpensive
It's currently $250 for that upgrade kit
Is the whole kit really worth it. I priced the ramp and springs trigger and mag release and it's alot cheaper. Just curious what others think about the other parts vs $$
I would not have that unless it was full tricked out with MCarbo upgrades. They make a huge difference. The version I had about 2 years ago was so bad I sent it back. I am considering another one, because I like the .22 Mag., but if I get it, it will have the MCarbo kit.
I love Kel-Tec but if I have to add a MCrbo Kit to make it a better gun, then count me out! I have two P17's and I love them both and I have not had a Failure in over 1000 Rounds! I just can't understand why Kel-Tec can't get this PM30 to be as reliable as the P17 and if they ever did, I will stand in line to order one!
Your comment is about a month old so I’m not sure if you’ll see this, but I have a pmr 30 with the mcarbo kit and it’s a great gun. That being said, my gun ran great before I installed the kit as well. Really the only reason i installed the kit was because I like to tinker and liked the idea of a stainless feed ramp vs a polymer.
They also changed designs 4 times on the pmr with one of the major ones being late 2018 or 19 i believe so the main ones really needed anymore is the superior buffer and takedown pin. Mag release is personal choice and stainless feed ramp if you have feed issues in yours. After double checking the manual to ensure your loading its magazine correctly since it is weird. The factory trigger is pretty good so thats optional. Increase the spring strength too much and you can cause more reliability issues. The better buffer will make one of the biggest differences especially since currently they're still known to only last 500-1200 rounds before deformity to the point of causing issues.
Think im going to trade mine in for the new walther 22wm or a ruger 5.7.
I purchased it for my girl to learn on because she is recoil sensitive.
There is no reason why they should be selling these undependable guns.
Ive bought guns for way less than this one that ran flawlesly fir less money and for many years.
Of the many i have and have purchased over the years ,this is over priced junk.
Love mine, if you lubricate it and the mag, their dry, load the mag as directed you won't have problems. Mine runs and runs.

I might not be the best judge of firearms but everything I like comes with a reason. Truly I was inspired by thee PMR 30s capacity and light weight. I hunted this firearm down and the only thing I regret is how much I had to pay. I tried every type of ammo I could find for this firearm including what is said is not good in it. Never has it let me down after some easy 6 years. I carry it when walking usually with a higher calibre backup weapon. When I first got it I ran the snot out of it and watched as 22wmr darn near double in price when ever I find it I don’t hesitate in replenishing the fodder. I honestly feel if you don’t own a product you more than likely can’t give it a honest rating. I love mine. The cartridge has a small projectile but it’s a fireball out of the pistol. It has a place and a specific use in my world. MCARBO has what they call upgrades like a metal feed ramp. Your review is fair. Still I would like to buy another one but the price needs to lose weight.
I wish people would continue undermining the 22mag caliber. Keep the cost low. Imo it's in my top 3 pistol caliber. It's deadly and low recoil.

I purchased roughly a year ago one of the 30 round PMR I have shot roughly 300 + rounds of several brands of ammo through it out of the box I emptied a clip through it never had one issue I actually made a video to send my cousin he ended up buying the 22 keltec he loves it I've always had the 22 magnum long guns if had to give up every gun I own but could keep one long gun and one handgun I'd keep my 22 magnums knowing after they get the rest out of my dead hands just saying I love my magnums never had a issue with the neither one I am interested in checking the 30 round Smith Wesson 30 round magnum out only issue I have with PMR is the clip ejector button easy to eject the clip but out of number 10 I'd give it a 9 because of that reason thank you and keep doing what your doing thanks

I bought this gun because I thought it was cool looking and liked the idea of 30 rounds. It had trouble feeding unless I held the magazine up tight in the mag well while shooting, then it was 100%. The bullet would catch on the plastic feed ramp with CCI maxi mags HP. I tried the Mcarbo mag release and it seemed good for about 100 rounds. Now it started to have feed issues again. The bullet was pointing too high and was caught above the small feed ramp on the barrel. I went back to the original mag release and will just keep working it to see if it just needs broken in more. To me it's not worth sending it back because of the cost to ship it. It's not for CC and I would never use it for that. It's a toy.
mcarbo makes the solution for pretty much all the issues this gun has
Almost 6 yrs as my EDC. It took nearly 800 rnds to break in and another 500 or so before I would carry countinuously. I go no where without it and I own , 9mm and 5.7X28 .
30 rounds of affection to share , light weight, not too large , not heavy at all. And Yes I've got the CMR30 ...which had to have work done before it would function reliably. Break it in and wear it. 22WMR is powerful and ballistic tests show it's got punch and creates a nasty wound channel.
There are lots of Cons to carry the PMR30. So what are the Pros? Low recoil, large in-gun capacity, longer sight radius (not every gunfight is inside 7yrds), intimidation factor from its larger frame, lighter frame than traditional full -sized guns, cheaper than most guns it's size or capacity. Not everyone has the same carry conditions and situations. This might just fit the bill for those people. I'm not a fan of carrying rim fire ammo, but I know those who do, and the 22wmr is the one they choose. Typically they have both the CMR and PMR combo.
May I suggest you start off by doing a FULL weapon safety check (including the slide).
The main problem with the feed issue is the magazine. Trim the front of the mag down and shave the guides in the magazine down just a bit and it solves the feed problems. The magazine holds 30 rounds but putting more than 15 increases the feed problem as well
That's bad advice man You want us to shave material off of our magazines and then only load it with 15 rounds? Just buy new mags and load them all the way I've bought five. Two of them are drunk continuous feed problems. The other three I put 30 rounds in and never have a problem! As long as you keep the mag packed to the back as you're loading it! It's funny the reaction you get from people when you mag dump 30 rounds out of such a tiny gun. Everyone is instantly like what the fuck is that thing
Jesus Christ man, I can understand the compromise to leave one chamber in a 6 shot SAA empty, but if you're downgrading your 30 round mags to 15 you really aught to just get your wife or friends to help you write to keltec to get it sorted out, we've seen the videos of the full auto stress test prototype for this thing, it's supposed to be a service type pistol in 22mag, that means putting a lot of holes in a bad guy at close range or providing sustained fire continuity at longer ranges, the advantage of velocity and flush fit capacity is worth it if you can get it working with 30 rounds, not 15 😛

I carry mine in an IWB carbon fiber holster. Works great like that too.
Alien tec, I got both the cmr and pmr I keep them clean and oiled and they seem quite nice, I couldn't be any happier with such a duo, and I carry alot of rds for such a small amount of weight
If .22 magnum is an unusual caliber then so am I, and so is my 100thoysand bullet stash too
I hear that. I've got thousands upon thousands upon thousands of different caliber cartridges here. I have at least 2,000 rounds backup for every rifle I have and 1,000 rounds for every pistol and that's the ammo that doesn't get touched. That's for like an shtf situation.
Full size is fine by me, my edc is a full size popular 10 mm polymer classic. I can use the ravenguard holster with sweatpants, so clothes aren't an issue
Mine had some reliability problems. I took it back to the dealer I bought it from and they sent it to KelTec for evaluation. It has been very reliable since it came back. It is really easy to cause jams by not loading the magazines properly. I tried several different speedloaders. In the end what works best for me is to load the magazines by hand, slowly and carefully, tapping the back of it against the table every 4 or 5 rounds. I just need to show patience because it takes a while to load 30 rounds that way.

Never really wanted one but I had a buddy who needed money so for $250 I bought it, hopefully with the right ammunition it’ll work. Just another one for the collection

The mag loader took is a must on this.
hey friend, if you insert the rounds correctly, they act like a loader. insert each round VERTICALLY, using the Flat Base(in the open area ahead of the magazines shoulders), to push the stack down as far as needed, then 'flip' the new round downward and under the magazine shoulders. The long .22wmr round makes it easier than it looks.(except the pointy varmit rounds, they are kinda sharp)
Also loading 30 rounds is less than advisable. And CCI only, it can not be trusted with anything else.

I love Kel-Tec Guns and I have three 22LR Guns, Two P17's and one CP33 and these are Great shooting guns but I am still Hesitant to purchase this PMR-30 just yet! The price of 22 Mag seems much to high for me and I am still not sold on the overall reliability of this gun! Right now I am having much fun with my .22LR handguns, so I will wait to see what happens by the end of this year with the prices of 22 Mag and just maybe by then I will try this Gun! Having said this, I will also say that I am now using one of my P17's as my EDC and it has proven to be very reliable as a carry gun and I carry it in my right front pocket with the safety on or sometimes in a cross draw belt holster!
I have yet to find a round it will not fire reliably, it just fires everything I feed it.
I liked it so much I got the Stainless Steel feed ramp and it's still 100% reliable.
Also, I only load them to 25, but only because those last 5 rounds are a P.I.T.A to get in.
In SD and ND we can find plenty of Hornady and CCI 22mag

Walther and Smith and Wesson come to mind !
As to the grips, Hogue makes rubber grips that slip over and fit nicely, and give this gun a better feel !

The first series that came out was junk, the second series fixed the issues, that’s what I have is the second series. I currently have over 2000rounds through mine with no issues. Granted the absolute caveat is I absolutely use 40 or plus grain ammo that is absolutely imperative to this gun running reliably
I have this one of my favorites I don’t carry it,my favorite carry guns are the keltec p32 or the P3AT and the pf9 currently for comfort don’t even feel them on you at all
As much as I love CCI ammo I have more issues with it than I do the Winchester Dynapoint which they don't recommend using,personally I would not carry for FFF issues but love the gun as a fun shooter.JMHO
I liked your video because you did a good job reviewing the gun, I do not like this gun however. I owned two, one in black that I got when they first came out. Then an FDE I traded into which I hoped would be better because it was much newer, but it was pretty much the same. My first and biggest complaint is that with the two guns I had five magazines and of the five magazines only one would hold 30 rounds. I used to joke and call it the PMR 28 because that was the average of the five. Which I was still please with it because 28 was a good number in my mind. That said, the only one that held 30 would not work with 30+1. It only worked with loading the first round then boom, boom, boom... Which was fun. It is load, but not THAT load, its just load for a ".22." It would also get fickle as the mags got low, that was when I'd start to see the malfunctions. I could not decide if it was a mag thing or a dirty gun thing. As you can imagine, and probably realized it gets dirty quick, but my malfunctions were usually failure to feed and happened with any of the mags when it only had five or less rounds left in it. I will not say it's not a fun gun to shoot, but I sold both of mine and would not welcome a third unless it was given to me and I would sell it immediately as new as I received it. If it had a break in period I never knew it, I would guess my Black one had 2000 to 3000 or more rounds through it, I don't keep track, but I would feel safe with that estimate. The FDE was used so I have no idea how many it had before I got it, but I only shot about 300 rounds in it because I had the Black one already and didn't like it for it's short comings. I used to love Kel Tec for it's innovations, but they are too busy making and fixing the guns they already have on the books to be innovative anymore it seems. I have owned several Kel Tec guns, and EVERY ONE OF THEM went back on for repairs, except for my three P3ATs and my P32,. I have or have had an SU-16CA, SU-22, a PLR 16, a P11, PF9, and two older model SUB2000s one in .40 and one 9mm. Please know I am not knocking the company, the guns have had problems but they were fixed VERY FAST and free of charge. Kel Tec is a good company and they stand behind their stuff. Its just this gun is not as great as I think many people give it credit for, it is fun, but it's also VERY frustrating. So that's my input, thank you for your videos.

Odd I have the ksg , cp33, cmr30 pmr30..guess I somehow didn't draw the short straw 4 times in a row..cp33 runs everything i feed it even the weak suppressor subsonic stuff ..ksg is a straight tank that just runs why so many had issues id guess is being used to the forgiving nature of 500 n 590s ..cycle it front to back and it runs like a well-oiled machine ..cmr and pmr cleaned them oiled em and only thing both seem to not care for are the remington hollowpoints ..other than that Winchester federal cci and Hornady all run mag dumps right as rain ..odd how their qc is so random tbh ...but after problems with 2 performance center 1911s and 1 460..(none of which were cheap and all nearly 3xs and 4xs the price of a keltec pmr ...and 1 les baer I horribly regret (that was 5xs the price ) I'll hang onto the pmr /cmr I lucked out on ..that les went back 4 times ..4...for 2500 unacceptable and proves even the greats can pump out lemons

As a CCW carrier your job is not to get into a gun fight it is to get out of dodge. That gun carries enough ammo to keep the other sides head down so you can do just that.
Bought a PMR brand new two years ago. It had feeding and jamming issues. Went back to Kel-Tec four times in the first two months. Kel-Tec ended up refunding me because they couldn’t get it reliably function with suggested ammo. I could feel and see the grip halves move. Definitely pinching the magazines and causing feeding issues. A very poor and flimsy design. If they ever produce a one piece lower that’s three times as thick they might have a chance of being reliable. Do yourself a favor and buy a Walther PMR. It’s miles ahead of the PMR in in quality and reliability. Bought one a month ago. It’s awesome.
Mine is literally on its way back to Kel Tec because it will not consistently load. And yes, I knew it had ammo restrictions and I was firing exactly what the manufacturer required. Sucks. I was really looking forward to owning one, I like that Kel Tec tries to do innovative things with firearms. Hopefully they can solve my issues. And the ammo is difficult to keep up on. The store I bought my PMR 30 didn't even have 22 WMR, had to go to another store to get it.
I have one with the McCarbo upgrade. Over 1000 rounds with 40 or 50 grain Federal ammo. Shoots great. Just a quick note. The magazine HAS to fit tight to the bottom of the grip. If there is any play you will eventually have problems. There is a great You Tube video on how to tweak the magazine so it fits tight to the bottom of the grip. The McCarbo upgrade is a must because they replace the plastic feed ramp and the slide stop with stainless steel and they moved the magazine release so the magazine won't drop out if you squeeze the bottom of the grip too tight. Get some Slide Glide for the ramps. Works wonders.

I have 2 of these as well as a cmr 30 all are jamamatics,wouldn't sell them ever. Still enjoy shooting them as well as my ksg and sub 2ks.

So far, I think my few FTF issues were due to improper loading. CCi, Remington and Federal, all in 40 grain, have worked well. I have some Hornady 30 gr. V-MAX that I haven't tried yet. Proper loading is ESSENTIAL in this double stack magazine. With arthritis developing in my fingers, I've had difficulty loading past 20 rounds. Be careful about denting the brass. Maglula makes an awesome loader. I just loaded 30 out of the box, effortlessly, in less than 2 minutes, and cut the time in half loading from a pile. I suspect nimble fingers could do it in 30 seconds! This loader also eliminates potential rimlock issues.
I researched the PMR30 at considerable length. But when a Marine combat vet friend showed me the handgun and spoke highly of it, I bought one the next day.
Now I have to say, I am a rifleman. The last time I had hefted a handgun was 1983. So at the range, I had 3 mags w 20 rnds ea. At 20' my group was 5 1/2''. At 38' 7 inches and high. 30' was 3 1/2''. Nothing to win awards or brag about, but all center mass if you will.
...so, the PMR wont compare to my .44 lever carbine or my .556 but possibly to my Sig 9 only because of capacity.
In closing, I have to say, looks like experts are coming around to this handgun (if grudgingly lol). Buy and fire the PMR30 with confidence. I think it would be an excellent 1st handgun for a beginner and a surprising addition for an experienced shooter.
Co-owner of the local gun store carries one of these daily. And she loads it with 40gr hollow points. Now some consider a 22 a bit weak for defense use. I would argue that having a gun is part of being able to defend yourself. And, like it or not, I'm not going to be arguing with 30 of these little hornets coming after me. No thanks.
That's what I'm saying! You get shot with 30 of anything or 10 of anything or even five or two that's a bad God damn day. In the penetration on this I've seen between 11 and 16 in. Regarding the shock cavity and the bullet wound cavity they're not very large but I mean you put two or three or four of these on Target real fast and a nice little group and you're turning whatever you're hitting into hamburger. I have a gen 2. I did the stainless feed ramp and mag catch upgrades. This clam shell design is a fun toy. I would not trust it for daily carry. Very flemsy. I like a gun you can use as a club if needed.
30 rounds of anything is substantial from a self defense standpoint.
That plastic feed ramp is crap.. Also u can put a bead of gel superglue under/across the magazine catch lip , will let the mag sit a tad higher..
I've been a fan of this gun since it came out. I owned one for a while. It was great fun. An excellent plinking handgun. I had no reliability issues after break in. The thing is,I don't consider this a self defense round in any way. This 22 WMR might be similar in size to the 5.7x28,but that's where it ends.Ballistic gel tests prove over and over the 5.7 is a man stopper. It's almost as if it begins tumbling right out of the barrel. I now own a Ruger 57 and a FN PS90. The Ruger,unfortunately is to big for EDC in my opinion. My EDC is a Ruger LCR in 327 Federal Magnum.
Check if you have the newer barrel. Keltec changed it to deal with keyholing
I have the ruger 57 myself I carry it everywhere without issue ..but 6'2 266 so maybe it's just my frame I can get away with it vs a 5'5" ?...and agree the 57 is def a brutal rd and why it was nato n yet 45acp still hasn't been ..fort hood showed me all I needed to know bout the lethality of that rd..elite ammo n vanguard make wicked loadings for it etc..but ill dispute the 22mag wouldnt end a threat ..the 22lr can and has killed black and a brown bear for that matter that was attacking hiker and son ..lucky shots ...like i always say to the nay sayers of the 5.7 ill now say for the 22mag and 22lr ..if one is stupid enough to stand in front of ANY bullet n puffnout their chest ..ill give my condolences to their loved ones for not raising a smarter individual.

If you have one of these and are having problems I have two videos that explain a couple things you should know. One is about oiling and the other is about how you should hold the gun.
I may have messed up idk I seen the CMR 30 at my lgs and didnt even touch it been wanting something like it and put it in layaway and after I get home all I see is the pmr 30 and how it is a mistake arent they both similar should I just not get the gun what all will go wrong with it. Also the videos I seen were over 4 years old and was only the PMR 30 surely keltec woulda upgraded it by now ah if not I'm just out 20 dog hairs
I got the cmr 30 first then after it running fine thru 6 boxes ...I wemt back n snagged the pmr ...dont regret either one..run everything but the rem hollowpoints..theybdef like the hot stuff ..stick with those , pay attention to loading the mag, run em wet, and suspect you won't regret ...also the cp33 is great too...that bih runs everything even stuff it's not supposed to..like my tavor ts12 does that sidelined my m4 to strictly gunsafe duty ...
@@justinloughner9777 just got more ammo to shoot the lil gun an ain't had no hiccups yet and it's fun went an bought a vska other day hope that wasn't a bad purchase but I've had fun shooting it too if something does happen to it it's got a lifetime warranty I'll take it back and get another one
Read your owners manual and don’t act like you know all there is to know about guns. Use the recommended Ammo by KelTech and load the mags as instructed. If you have trouble loading the mags or want them to function perfectly I understand American Speed Loaders makes an excellent loader that loads the mags perfectly. Your PMR30 & CMR30 I believe both come with a lifetime warranty. If they don’t work correctly send them back and if they don’t fix them request a replacement gun.
I have recently purchased this PMR 30 in January, 2023 and so far with 3 range visits, I have experienced only 2 malfunctions in 270 rounds fired. I will be cleaning it before the next range visit and I do not think there will be any more problems. I am following all the Instructions in the user guide and I have only used CCI Maxi Mags, 40 Grain Ammo! If I can find a good holster for this gun, then I will not hesitate to carry this gun and make it my EDC! I am 78 years old and because of physical problems with my hands and arms, I have switched to only 22LR & 22 Mag Guns! I have always been a Glock Guy, all my shooting life but I had to make adjustments and these Kel-Tec Guns are perfect for my needs! Great Video, Thanks!

I had my PMR30 for about 6 months before shooting it. I was aware of the Mis-feeds, but loaded both mags to about 15 rounds each. First mag, no issues, perfect feed. Second mag failed to feed every other round. After 4 rounds, and 4 misdeeds, reloaded the first mag, and same issue, failed to feed.
Threw the gun back in the box and continued my hour long fun with a 1911.
Wouldn’t trust the pmr as a cc.

you know what you should look for in technology? its age. how old a technology has been developed can say a lot about how polished or finished it is. If you don't trust polymer guns then why is it that people have been messing around with making it since at least the 20s or 30s when bakelite was coming out? I mean you can see the use of bakelite in magazines or furniture like the AK. I just felt like putting this here for no reason.
19oz fully loaded, its the lightest trail gun with a high capacity mag, i got mine for $249 yrs ago no issues.
I put a MCARBO trigger and feed ramp in mine. Made even better. You also have to load the mags a certain way.
I bought my PMR 30 knowing it had feed problems out of the box. After taking it to the range and running 60 rnds I came home with 2 complaints feed problems and mag release issue. That being said I resolved both with the full upgrade from . Well if you dont know just go look for it. After doing my own install It does not drop a mag while in use and It feeds and fires all but a bad rnd. And I am not worried a bit about warranty.
I have to laugh about the ballistics comments. If I make a hole in your head or body that blows you apart so one requires a closed casket and the other a viewing ,What is the difference.
The gun is a bit large for CC But it can be done and it weighs nothing , For old hands and ladies 30 rnds of accurate firepower.

i RECOMEND A MAG LOADER FOR THIS GUN
Have one, carry it a Houston, iwb holster, , CALL keltec, about making a shorter barrel model, designed the magazine, using a steel lip, like a ruger 10/22 magazine, or make the magazine, out steel or aluminum? , as for carrying it , only loading it to 15.round plus 1, ,only use full 30 plus 1, at the range, pistol still need, breaking in, on round count. Keep magazines clean, keep magazines full loaded, for few weeks, for breaking in , and small wooden rod ,to push the faller ,up and down, to break in new magazines, about 100, times, smooth out the magazines. After that, pistol run , with out failure to feed, .

What is important is the LOADED weight of a pistol, not the empty weight. A carry gun is carried loaded, fired loaded, and only useful loaded. What dopes a PMR30 weigh loaded with 30 rounds?

Just purchased a CMR30 and it runs like garbage with 7 different ammunition types all 40grain plus and all loaded up correctly I don’t think it’s worth it at the end of the day I will never ever trust this gun to get the job done.
