The detail retrieval, the separation of instruments, the bass is great.. So far, I'm loving the sound of it.. Maybe I'll try some EQ'ing if I need to
Great review as always ☕️👍 I run my s12 ‘s balanced with the Final Audio E ear tips..they tend to stay put and offer a little more sub bass ..these are one of my IEM’s stable top doggies. The gauntlet has been thrown down ! ANY iem under $200 now has to contend with this version of the S12 as far as the packaging and the performance to that price!

I’ve got the OG S12s and the newer S12 Pro. The 2 main differences to my ears between the 2 are the pro has a couple of db inn the sub-bass and 2-3 db reduction in the pinna gain area. I big improvement imho. The improvement sound signature along with the upgraded cable makes it a no brainer and worth way more than $150.
I researched most of the planars from about $250 and down. I finally ended up on the S12 Pro. So, after ordering on the Xmas sale for $134, I found your review and now I just can't wait to receive the iems. They just have that quality look about them and with the S12 great reputaion, this was an easy choice. Happy New Year!
@@thehighground5738 I needed to find good eartips to suit my taste in music. Otherwise I thought they could be a bit sibilant. The eartips I found fixed it. No other complaints. Works well for me throughout the whole frequency range.
@@thehighground5738 I like using the Whizzer Easytips ET100. They work fine for me and gives a nice seal. If the seal isn't good, the bass will not be any good. You just have to try out what will fit your ears the best. The FiiO tips work fine too. I prefer the Whizzer though.
I can tell you because I own the OG S12s and the S12 Pros and the pros have maybe a 2db advantage in sub bass, where the biggest improvement is in the upper mids and the treble area. The S12 Pros are more polished i those areas. Detail retreaval is the same as other technicals.

I've been wanting planar IEMs with premium looks and a quality build and these seem to fit the bill. The Dunu Talos look a little more premium, or maybe just more stylish, but is also nearly $50 more on pre-order. Have you listened to them or heard anything about them?
I love my S12 but I don't think I'll upgrade to the Pro version. Currently being my pause game iem until i find something worthy. Agree with the shape of the nozzle and fit but I managed to get a good seal and fit with the spinfit cp145. Anyway thank you for the awesome review. 🙏
I use CP145 as well, however For me the reason they didn’t sit well for long periods was the earhooks on the cable. When I replaced them for a balanced cable I bought one with the ear hooks and they were a perfect fit with the entire range of tips.
Can tell that you really like these iems from your excited presentation bro, something not seen in many other reviews of yours, glad you enjoy it! Have been eyeing the original for quite sometime but quite a good number of reviews think they are fatiguing due to shouty trebles. Perhaps the Pro’s cable tames the treble somewhat? If that is the case it might be worth paying the extra S$50 for the pro. Furthermore, the blue colour is nice. Now that more planars are popping up like mushrooms, I’m even more undecided especially where my experience with the PLA13 is decidedly unsatisfying. Would love to see a planar comparison video from you soon.

Hello, I am seeing full reviews about the S12pro and several comments mention that you need a good DAC, which one do you recommend in order to get the best out of it.
I would say initial impressions of the 12 Pro Theyve cooled off the treble and smoothed it out. I have both sets. I can listen to the pro without eq where as the s12 I found too hot in the treble

I got these, though I love the sound, had to EQ to my liking. I wish the sub-bass region wasn't boosted, the bass is just too forward in this tuning. The treble tuning is welcome though. Not the biggest issue since AutoEQ fixed this and boy are these detailed.

They looks very solid. I am just worried about fit since nozzle is not long. I use 7Hz Timeless and I feel them pretty tight in my inner ear, so I am not sure if they will be ok in terms of comfort. May be different could help slightly but not to much I guess.
@@Bristleback1988 I feel you regarding the comfort of these. I've got the S12 and the T3+. Overall, I like the T3+ a bit more because they have a longer nozzle which provides a better fit for me, plus they sound fantastic imo. The S12's nozzle is kinda short and I've had a hard time finding the perfect fit. I bought the Spinfit CP100+ for the S12 and they have provided the best fit so far because those are long tips.
bro, dioko is tuned differently from these s12 pro. i would use dioko for my classical music and s12 pro more for a fun and detailed listening experience.

With S12 pro a little tamer treble. My guess is the different tuning filters and dampers, which Letshuoer also confirmed that they change.
Curious you say lau as a transition between statements or sentences. I would assume this is a carryover from your native or primary language? If so can you confirm what this means or translations to in English? There are some native English speakers that will say “um” or “ok” in similar pauses. Wondering if this is the same thing.
Essentially, I was speaking Singlish which literally is broken English. It’s some sort of an expression to add emotions at the end of a sentence. If you are interested to find out more about Singlish there are a lot of TH-cam videos out there that can explain much better than me haha
@@alexfizz7402 Aria Snow is pretty well tuned if you like more neutral tuning. There is not much high treble (the so called air fequencies). Detail level, soundstage and separation is average. They do feel like +20%ish upgrade to my Airpods Pro (1st gen) both frequency response and technical performance wise. Pairing with Fiio KA3 and Fiio UTWS5. With UTWS5, the soundstage is a bit wider than with Fiio KA3.
I bought this one instead of Dunu Talos.. I initially would have went for Talos because I love the dunu titan S but seeing the reviews of Talos I went for these instead

Guys I want to upgrade from my hbb mele , looking seriously at the S12 Pro and the ikko OH10, i need something for long listens , i listen to music for many hours a day whilst working , so anything that's fatiguing won't work, also shouty and Too bright won't work for me either . I got these for $130 a few days ago and so far I am impressed. My only other pair at the moment are the Moondrop Starfields.
Just got one and am currently waiting for It to be shipped. Hope It Will be an upgrade from my aria, witch i already love.

Yes it's balanced, any cable that has the option for 2.5 and 4.4 interchangeable plugs is balanced.
