Stumpy Does Some Things I was thinking about buying a switch for this game, when I saw this museum, that is what secured it. It is so different from new leaf and just so beautiful. My switch and copy of the game are coming Friday :)

I can’t help but feel like this museum is the original one from gamecube, just what our memories and nostalgia thinks it was lol
Maybe the bug sounds remind us of those days or nights where we sat inside or outside hearing the bug noises. Or maybe the museum music that reminds us of the old museum of the previous games. Or even just the fact that animal crossing is overall a great nostalgic game for no good reason.
It looks really similar to some of the museums I've been to a billion times when I was little
The best part is that the mosquitos don’t bite you in the museum anymore, so you can actually sit/stand still and actually LOOK AT the bug exhibit.

My favorite moment of the game so far is putting myself into the pedestal at the end of the fossil exhibit and realising the lines on the floor were about evolution and going all the way back with a new viewpoint

I cant get over how they modeled the spinosaurus over the more recent evidence pointing to it being a short legged biped and semi-aquatic. It looks sooooo COOOOOL! Honestly this version of Spinosaurus looks waaaay cooler and more unique in the large catalog of famous dinosaurs than its previous look

I agree. Visually the Museum was a massive improvement but, functionally it is quite a downgrade. We lost the art, deep-sea creatures, and the descriptions for the fossils/sea creatures/bugs. The reason why I miss the descriptions is because they were actually quite informative (keep in mind the purpose of a museum is to be informative).

Am I the only one thats obsessed with the sound design and water visuals? Seriously, I’m loving how calm and transparent the water looks and the sound design really puts you at ease, especially the bug exhibit sounds. Animal Crossing has really outdone themselves this time, wish I had a Nintendo to actually experience it! Kudos to the developer team for their wonderful job and dedication.

My business is focussed on aquariums. I love aquariums so much, and seeing the aquariums in this game made me smile so much. It's the most I've smiled in two weeks. I'm so happy to see that in the museum, they're given good tanks. I'm just so, so happy to see these aquariums.

Eli K. Yes, but in new leaf you can look at more in-depth descriptions of anything you donate to the museum by clicking the sign in their exhibit, whereas in new horizons when you click on the creature’s respective sign it only tells you their name.

You don't need to go to the islands to get any sort of bugs or fish. Every creature you can encounter on your island
well there are different kinds of bugs/fish during different times of days/diff months so just be patient and visit the game at separate times!!

My favorite part of the museum is the music playing in the background (which is slightly different when you got to different rooms) and the area with all the sea creatures and stuff its just so beautiful and peaceful
My brother and I loves aquatic life and palaeontology so I showed him half of the museum and it was wholesome
This is quite both upgrade and downgrade at the same time. I really appreciate the visual, it certainly beautiful than ever but I miss the education text which served museum more purpose and would be better to enjoy than asking the owl. There might be less thing to collect but it understandable, hope next game museum will be even better than this (I miss being tricked by Redd) (And I need more epic species of both bugs and fish.....even if I'm scared of tarantula as f)

Interesting thing I noticed about the fossil exhibit. If you follow the lines on the floor from a fossil to the animal silhouettes on the clear panel, it shows what that fossil eventually evolved into. For example, from the tiger fossil, it led to the cat characters and the ape skull line branched of towards the monkeys and the empty spot where you're supposed to stand (humans)
Very interesting!
I also like that this implies that all of those animals evolved to current form very recently (from evolutionary point of view). So in the same 10 million years or so that humans evolved from ape-like ancestors, other animals of this world also evolved to reach this form.
(imagine middle ages with something like that)

They cut all of the deep sea creatures, some of the fossils, who know's how many fish/bugs & the entire art gallery (the last one I'm actually okay with cutting). They better include all this cut content (except for the art gallery) in a future DLC.

i want to time travel months at a time for a variety of fish and bugs since my main goal is to fill the museum, but i’m afraid my town will get overrun with weeds and my villagers will move out! will this happen?! 🥺
Skipping will fill your town with weeds but not by that much. Your villagers will only become mad but you can counter that by giving then stuff.
I have done a lot of skipping by 40 years even and there is weed but my villagers so far hasnt moved out.

This what I want to work, my parents expect me to be a research volunteer just because I have a biology degree. Tell them to tell that to Zookeepers, aquarist to go on research just because they have that degree

Hey, I took a year off of going to college, because I didn't know what I wanted to do. But, recently I have decided that I want to go study zoology. I still don't know exactly what I want to do, but at least I now have a general idea. It's funny that I came across your comment, because I really only decided this a few days ago
