I'm 30 and honestly listening to Kurt reminds me of listening to Bob Dylan when I was 15. I feel like I've recaptured something that I've not felt since.
@@theonygard5694 Yeah it's the originality of his music that comes from just being completely yourself (in making music) by not worrying about how other people make music. You can't fake that. 99% of musicians, including myself are more concerned about making good music than making real music. But I'm always trying to let go of this ofcourse.
He's one of those artists that you either get or you don't. I'll admit, on my first listen years ago, I really didn't see the appeal, and just wrote him off of as another Dylan wannabe. It wasn't until days later that I caught myself humming one of his songs without realizing it. Kurt just gets into your blood, and there isn't any cure. He's the best kind of disease.
I remember coming across Kurt vile on KEXP a few years back and from then on the sound has just gripped. Absolutely amazing and such just a joy to listen to. very talented and so good.
would love to hear kurt play 'comin through - the war on drugs' they are both great. but kurt will always be my favorite. his music got me through a tour in afghanistan
i really prefer a lot of the songs off his later records live as opposed to on the record. I really love the way he plays guitar one of my all-time favorite musicians
Love the opportunity with this set to really listen to the lyrics -- never noticed in "Ghost Town" the line about meeting up with friends to go look for Kinks vinyl. Love KV ❤️ .
Wish i went to that festival in my neighborhood town in 2019, where Kurt played😭 but, i had just found him then and was'nt totally into him then... something i will always reget😔
I did a bit of digging and according to an old Premier Guitar interview with Kurt, it seems to be a custom Martin 00 version that’s based on Martin’s Philadelphia Folk Festival Anniversary Edition of 2011. Sounds amazing in any case. @@brisson182
I appreciate this. To the utmost degree.
"Thats enough, for now" love the humility haha
The fucking QUALITY of this entire episode is 10/10. The sound and recording. The music. Everything.

The classic example of a guy who 'just has it'. That bit of magic that you can't quite pinpoint that is so difficult to find.
I agree with you Kurt is something else ❤️

Kurt is god if you get it. I can see why less than enlightened individuals may not love him. You can hate on him or get all mushy an lovey dove him.
@James B. McGill Just imagine being you. Kinda sad, James.
28 people, apparently
The world is full of people who listen cumbia villera with Bosse or Alpine amps in their cars.
It took 39 second for this to give me chills, what a wonderful man, the great Mr. Vile.

@Syrup & Pancakes you suppose they'll do another album?
I love that guitar tone! Does anyone know what it is? Martin 000?
Looks like a Martin concert size body with all mahogany solid wood. Not sure the model tho

If you want to try for that tone but can't afford the Martin, try to find a 60s Hofner acoustic in decent shape.
Looks like a Martin 00 size, probably either a Custom 00-17 or 00-15. I have a 00-18, same shape
Fuck yeaaaaahhhh!!!
