Yes, definitely! Always feel free to modify the practice in a way that makes it accessible to you. It's super important to protect your knees 🙏 Also, I am very happy to know how much you're enjoying the channel 💞
Thanks Jessica! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! So this version is acutally 1/3 of the full practice. In the full practice these actions are instructed to do for 108 repetitions. 36 is 1/3 of that. 108 is a sacred number in Indian tradition. If you like numbers, I deifnitely recommend you look in to it, as there are many reasons give, yet the true origin is still debated. The one that I like is that the distance to the Sun is 108x the distance from the Moon to the Earth. I'm amazed at how ancient civilizations could have calculated these numbers (or rather inuited them) by sitting in meditation.
Hi Andrew, you mentioned about the 10th gate here. Can you kindly share a little more about what's the 10th gate and its function? Thanks so much! P.S: I've been doing this Kriya as part of my 40 days sadhana! LOVE IT
The tenth gate is terminology from Yogi Bhajan's system, which honestly I'm not super familiar with. My studies are more in Tantra and Traditional Hatha Yoga, where this connection would be referred to as Sahasrara Chakra. Even "Chakra" is not proper terminology though, as this is not really an "energy center" in the same as the other 6 major Chakras, but rather the blossoming of consciousness that happens as the result of awakening Kundalini. In this sense, the Sahasrara opens (much like a gate), when our consciousness expands beyond the limitations of the mind. When this happens we are able to experience "things as the truly are", without definitions and mental patterns, without the limitation of feeling like we are separate form the rest of the Universe. In this context Sahasrara, or the 10th gate, can be seen as the bridging between the individual soul, the "Jiva" or "Atman" and the Universal Consciousness, "Shiva" or "Paramatman" I'm very happy to hear that you have been enjoying this class. It's definitely one of my favorites from Yogi Bhajan 💞
Hi there! I had a kundalini awakening a few years ago in India. I really like your class, I did it for the last 2 days. But now I just rewatched a sadhguru video warning about kundalini yoga being dangerous. I am very greatful my initial kundalini awakening was mostly good things (at times it has been difficult), but I am weary of taking on another kundalini event... I've had enough for now and just need to get my material life on track. For this reason I am hesitating about continuing doing you practice. If you have any input regarding this let me know.
I personally believe that Kundalini awakening is only really uncomfortable for those who are not practicing and have no idea what is an altered or expanded state of consciousness. But for those who do meditate and understand what it means to be conscious, Kundalini not dangerous at all. In fact it is a great gift to be able to fully experience this life. As much as I respect Sadhguru, I think the teachings that Kundalini is dangerous are very misleading. It is far more dangerous to get into a car, play football or walk down a snowy walkway than it is to practice Kundalini.

You guys! /i am taking your Kriya course and it is soooo goood! Taking the 6 day advice and today was my rest day so I did this. Do you think thats okay? or should it be kriya rest day?
I love your aspiration Sita! And yeah, I think for you it's okay. You have a strong enough practice that even on your off days you can do a different practice ;) Let me know when you get around the Nabhi Kriya Level 3 💞
Hey Christina, in the full Kriya it is instructed to do 108 times, which is a very auspicious number in Indian history, Hinduism, Buddhism, Astrology, Numerology, etc. In this class, to make it shorter, everything is cut down to 1/3 of the full duration, so this is why we end up doing 36 repetitions, instead of 108 💝
Hi Andrew, instead of cobra/sphinx pose, what's other alternative while doing breathe of fire? My shoulder blade doesnt allow me to be in this pose. I've the same issue with cat/cow pose too, so I sit on my heel and do cat/cow pose, would that work? Thanks in advance!
Hey Patapon, performing Cat-Cow sitting on the heels is a good alternative to make the practice accessible. I would recommend a similar modification for the cobra, you perform this in what would be the "cow pose" kneeling. So sitting on the heels with the back arched, chest pushed forward and the chin lifted. Make sure the chin is lifted, but not to the point where the head is dropped back. The idea here is to really open the front of the body, the heart and lungs, while doing breath of fire. But not necessarily to open the throat to its fullest. Alternatively to this - but it will be much more challenging - you could do a hands free cobra, where from lying on the belly you raise only the chest and shoulders with the muscles of your back - a variation of Shalabhasana/the locust pose. Choose whichever one works better for you ;)

You guys! /i am taking your Kriya course and it is soooo goood! Taking the 6 day advice and today was my rest day so I did this. Do you think thats okay? or should it be kriya rest day?
I love your aspiration Sita! And yeah, I think for you it's okay. You have a strong enough practice that even on your off days you can do a different practice ;)
Let me know when you get around the Nabhi Kriya Level 3 💞

Tnx🙏❤
You're welcome!
Thank you for the amazing practice, I would like to ask you why 36 times?
Hey Christina, in the full Kriya it is instructed to do 108 times, which is a very auspicious number in Indian history, Hinduism, Buddhism, Astrology, Numerology, etc. In this class, to make it shorter, everything is cut down to 1/3 of the full duration, so this is why we end up doing 36 repetitions, instead of 108 💝
@@RefeelYoga thank you for the explanation:) keep it up and all the best 🌷

Choose whichever one works better for you ;)
@@RefeelYoga This is gem! Gonna try it out for today's sadhana. Thank you!!! Have an amazing weekend
