Great video, thank you!!! I’ve been milling my own flour for less than a year, and I haven’t found any other videos on making hamburger buns! I didn’t want to have to buy another pan just for making buns, so this technique is awesome! Tried them & they were a hit with my family! ❤
Thank you for making this video. I recently purchased a grain mill and learning all I can. Your basic bread recipe is very good. The techniques for making hamburger buns absolutely works! We have enjoyed them several times!
Thank you so much!!! I already use that same recipe for bread AND I always slice my bread with an electric knife! Ha! I’m so excited to try this with hamburger buns tonight. Thanks for making it less daunting! 🥳
Hi, I saw your link in the whole grain milling FB group, and wanted to see.... I was so suprised with those large, heavy books, that they still rose so well! That was amazing... I'm vegan so wouldn't use the egg, and I always swap out oils and use ground flax and egg, so I'll try your recipe too. Thanks for a good demonstration!
Great video just seen you in my videos.. I make my own an grind my flour I take hand an mash mine lol .. I learned about it al from bread Beckers .. love following other people to learn different techniques..
Tried this method and adding too much weight in the rise flattens them out too much for my liking. If you want a dome, go without the books on the pan, only let them sit for 5 to 15 min depending on the temp in your home. Then let them rise upwards for min 25 min or so. I do it this way religiously, and the shape (width and hight) come out like buns. Wow do they taste amazing even with hard red wheat ( hard white is my normal go to). Not sure how much yeast she puts in her basic bread recipe at first to get them to inflate well.
For the dough I started with you can watch my video and find the recipe in the description here:

I am making the buns now, with fresh milled wheat. And Strong's concordance is my second favorite book.
That's awesome!
Thanks for the videos and recipes!

Yes, it's crazy how it still works! Sometimes for a plain bun I don't even egg wash so that will be fine. :)
Awesome job I didn't know you did this on line thank you for shareing😊
Thanks!
First time watching your videos, new follower! I just started milling my flour, so infatuated. Thank you. Everything looks amazing❤️

Ok…the electric knife so you don’t smash or tear apart the bread is genius!
Yes, I didn't know that until I asked my uncle how he slices his bread and it was still beautiful! It works so good!
Just saw your video. Do you ever freeze your buns?
I've never tried freezing my buns so I cant say. From what I've seen others say it should be ok.
Recipe for the bread dough isn't there anymore
I went through and updated it! Thanks for pointing that out! I really appreciate it.
What brand knife do you have?
It's Black & Decker.
How long does your second rise take?
45min-1 hour
I made the buns today but they were dry what did I do wrong with the dough?
Maybe they needed a little more liquid? Difference in wheat berries, altitude, etc. can affect the outcome.
