That black tape around the bottom of the tub does absolutely nothing for side pins. Side pins are caused by a microclimate between the substrate and the side of the tote NOT the light. That’s why we use liners. The liner clings to the sub block as it shrinks and helps to prevent the microclimate from forming.
Maybe you've done this before with success.. but as far as I can see your spawn to sub ratio looks low to me.. as in not enough grain for all that substrate. Like what.. 1/5? 1/6? How did it turn out in the end? I just made that mistake in my last run and the result was not great...

I've been seeing lots of people do it. They probably just do what they see and don't think about the purpose of a liner.
Exactly, liner Is for preventing fresh air to go on the sides...
100% truth

Do you order your substrates from mycology simplified? I do and they got the same tap on em like those. 👏 job
How long it takes for spawn to colonize? And the rest of the process.
Great vidoe. One suggestion myco bro. Wear a good fitting mask when mixing and opening any of your bags. Speaking from experience,
what sub?
We use liners for a reason brother. And light has nothing to do with it.
Agreed, Midwest is the shit 🎉
Midwest is fucking horrible and so are all of those myco companies who target newbies who don't know any better.
