    A tip for air-to-ground combos: try airdashing before starting the air attacks. The airdash keeps you moving into the opponent, allowing you to combo it without falling too early.

    That was actually really helpful, it's a nice way to break down the basics you need to practice in a non overwhelming way. Thanks o/

    This is great! I am absolutely awful at doing the challenge mode combos and thus combos in general , so this is a great approach to make casual brawls a bit more than random button mashing and have more fun with it.

    I've been looking at a ton of beginners guides because i'm pretty new to fighting games in general, and especially new to something like blazblue and this is the first one that's actually been really helpful for me. I know the basics of fighting games in general, so I really just needed some way to get a start with characters, the combos, and things like that and this system for picking up a character is just, really really good. thank you so much!

    So when I learned about this game since like a years ago, I pretty much got it now. I’m still trying to main ragna before I go with another character. This tutorial is a big help for myself. Thank you a bunch!

    Thanks for this man. I'm just getting into this series (2D fighters in general, actually), and was feeling pretty overwhelmed. This really gave me a good set of skills to work on.

    Thanks so much for the tutorial dude
    I don't have CF right now, but I tried the same concepts with P4A and managed to get to a workable level with a couple characters
    I'll definitely refer back to this next time I pick up an anime fighter

    Thanks for this. Central fiction just came out for the switch and thought it would be somewhat similar to ctag, i was very, very wrong. Combos are super easy in that game and found this really tough

    • @raidhyn
      @raidhyn  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Stick with it. Some characters will certainly have harder combos than others but at first it's all about getting comfortable on a different game. Once you do get there tho, Blazblue is SUPER SATISFYING and you'll enjoy the hell out of it.

    • @seahawk1579

      @@raidhyn cheers, will do. I think i made the mistake of trying complex characters initially also like Arakune and Izanagi as they arent in Tag, might just try and learn the easier characters first :)

    • @raidhyn
      @raidhyn  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@seahawk1579 Yeah both of those are crazy high execution. I'd recommend Tsubaki. Cause she's the best. But, Jin, Ragna, Mai, Es, Celica, Susanoo are all good characters with execution that won't kill you at the start.

    I think that this videogame is more towards people who have already gotten into fighting games.Something that is an absolute thing to learn fighting games is having other people to play with. I was recalling how I was getting good at mk, guess what, I was always training to beat my cousins. I started making like really short combos and then I learned more stuff and started making more complex things.Thats the way you learn to play fighting games. I think someone should first play with someone and then start putting like goals for yourself like start training to beat online people.Please don't start trying to know everything of the game,that only makes you want to quit

      Right, u need to have the right mindset when u start these kind of games. After all, you want to have fun, and playing fighting games alone isnt as fun as playing with your friends

    This may sound like a stupid set of questions, but what is a better expense of my time having just started touching the BlazBlue series (and fighting in general)? Should I focus on defensive habits or learning combos, and how long should I stay in the training room before trying online matches? I'm currently playing Chronophantasma, mainly because I'm poor, I can't afford CF(even with it on sale rn) and my computer is ass, before I dare try getting my ass handed to me in online?

    • @raidhyn
      @raidhyn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd play through the single player modes and focus on movement and basic combos. Just get comfortable with dashing, air dashing, and all those kind of things. From there move into implementing these basic combos and learning when you have to block vs when not to.
      As for online. You're gonna need CF for that since no one plays older versions really and the CF online community is pretty small as it is. That said, when I first got into blazblue I spent three months enjoying all the offline single player modes before I went online. Just play and have fun and try to think actively about your improvements each session and you'll be good to go.

    Hey question I've never played any other fighting games before but I've been playing a lot of this lately. I picked up Naoto Kurogana and I've been playing with 6 of my friends. I find it really hard to dash and execute my combos with him. Do you have any tips by chance? I'm using a controller.

    • @themocerperlerp2347

      Also your video really helps.

    • @Femmyu
      @Femmyu 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Naoto is one of the most technical characters in the game, not a very good character to start out with. That's because of the microdashing required to do his combo's. The only advice I can give you is to practise microdashing a lot or to switch to another shoto (Es, Ragna) with easier execution. Microdashing is something that takes a while to learn correctly, hang in there!

    • @themocerperlerp2347
      @themocerperlerp2347 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Femmy Thanks for the tip! I'll try out Ragna but I'll still be loyal to Naoto because he's my main. Also I didn't know that he was super technical lol, I just thought his combos are hard to do.

    • @MFSIMBA
      @MFSIMBA 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ThemoCerperlerp he's insane. You think he's just your basic shoto until his combos have you do 1frame dash cancels and microdashes everywhere.

    • @gerkirschbaum
      @gerkirschbaum 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This may be obvious and you‘re probably doing it anyway by now, but if not here‘s what I do:
      Every time that I launch the game I start off with training mode, pick my main char and start a basic „workout“. It starts off just with dashing in both directions. 10 or 20 times in every direction without false inputs. That same goes for my BnB combos. Just simple combos 10 times in a row to ensure that I can do them any time. If you can, do that every day to train muscle memory. That’s not necessary but obviously helpful.
      Btw it doesn’t really matter wether you play with controller or fightstick (or even keyboard). You can do everything with anything. I find dashing easier on a controller but overall I‘m more comfortable with a fightstick. It‘s all personal, that‘s why you see the pros using both.

      Vienna Savage you can gain heat by attacking, blocking, more heat through instant blocking, and it also builds slowly on its own when you're below 30 percent health.
      Basically, be active, and you will build heat.

    When I started playing BlazBlue (chronophantasma, I'm not that old un the franchise), I never check any video tutorial or guide, why? Because i'm an idiot, but ay least to do combos the best aproach I could have was this, 1 bread and Butter combo, throw, air and distorsion combo, after that tried just get to more complicated combos but funny enough always was never the full combo, a lot of times doing the same part until it was only natural to do, add the Next 2-3 attacks and so on. Funny enough, more soon than later you realize that, those crazy combos, 80% are stuff you do in other combos and is just put everything in the same thing.
