David Phelps is one of the most gifted singers in Gospel Music today. He's just incredible!
Not just today...maybe ever??? Gods gift of music definitely poured into David...and the Holy Spirit of God infuses every note...which is the goose bumps I feel almost every time I heard David sing!!!! Divinely inspired for sure.
I might have to put David in the top 10 for best male singers of all time.
Went and saw David sing at his house this year for a Christmas show. Can confirm that it's even stronger in person. His cover of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing at the age of 50 is incredible. Truly one of the most talented voices of all time.

The piano player was the legendary (in Gospel music) Anthony Burger. I heard Anthony play LIVE when he was just 16 yrs old. Burger suffered severe burns to his body & hands as a baby. The Docs said he may never regain use of his hands......instead he was accepted at a music conservatory at age 5. He was playing a classical repertoire w in a few years. He had an impressive career and passed away during a Gaither Gospel Cruise performance aboard ship. Ppl in the audience noticed he stopped moving; slumped over the piano...he was carried off stage and in spite of 45 minutes of CPR, he died of a massive heart attack. He was 44 years old. RIP Anthony

As always I love you guys. I've been asking you for 2 years to react to David Phelps. Finally! He is so anointed his voice sometimes brings tears to my eyes Nobody Does it Better. He sings live better than most people do in the studio LOL more please. Songs like. No More Night. Never Walk Alone. Nessun Dorma. I believe she seems this better than Luciano Pavarotti. Mio Bambino Caro. The-Dream. Moonlight. He wrote words to this one. Water. We Shall Behold Him, and many more. It's always a pleasure to watch you guys react. David Phelps is classically trained and was for years a member of the Gather Vocal Group. He is one of my top 3 singers. This version gives me chills. Go down the rabbit hole----More David Phelps please. Watch him sing the Star Spangled Banner. .It's totally unique.Thanks for the reaction.

Best rendition EVER!!! And the piano is superb as well!! Phelps is from a small town in Texas (Tomball), my wife went to school with him. It is my understanding he is the most humble person ever. What a talent God blessed him with!!

Phelps has one of the greatest male voices of all time. Any live performance you pull up is amazing. He does a duet with his daughter called Water.
Also, had to go to a job site in Forney last week and ate at a really good burger spot called the Burger Shop. Great burgers.

David, in my opinion, is the best singer I have heard, yet, and at 72 years old, I've heard (live) many performers! I have seen and met David at least 15 times in the past few years. He is an excellent singer who loves the Lord; he's humble; takes his music to heart; and is actually a funny guy, yet serious. Please...more David Phelps! A few suggestions, if that's ok: Just As I Am (Stories & Songs, Vol. 1); I Have Nothing (Whitney Houston song which he does at the age of 52); Hello Beautiful (tearful); and A Song for Sinners (mentions the nameless, the rich and the famous, sinners, saints, believers, and much more). Not a song "lecturing" those who have committed a sin because in one way or another, we all have. There's only one perfect person! Thank you! You guys are awesome!

Great reaction ! I’ve been a fan of David Phelps for over 25 years. I think he sounds better now at 53 years old than when I first heard him. He does a cover of Whitney Houston’s, I have nothing that is amazing.
So glad you both got to see this, I have seen him do this live a couple of times and his powerful voice will fill an auditorium like no other. I really hope you can do more David Phelps in the future, you will not be disappointed.

Welcome to the world of David Phelps. He is absolutely amazing. He sings gospel but more recently he has released secular music. Bill and Gloria Gaither is a Christian organization that preaches the word through word and song. You should check out Gaither Vocal Band as well. There has been different members over the years but they are all great.
I can't say how thrilling it is to see reactors that I'm familiar with, hear David. And y'all knew it was God's presence you felt off of him. 🙏

Best tenor in the world today! You should hear him do Nessun Dorma Live. It's an Aria from an Italian opera which I know nothing about. However, sometimes a song is so beautiful that you don't have to know the words to still be blown away. It's been done by all of the greats, Pavarotti,Bocelli and on and on but this dude's version? Trust me. Love what y'all do.

I have seen him perform this live from the front row 11 times, I have met him amd his family multiple times and been to his home for concerts as well. He is the most humble and gracious talented man that I have ever come across...

Love your reactions to this performance! You guys should check out more from Bill and Gloria - they are two of the most prolific composers of gospel music. Ever. They wrote Because He Lives, The King Is Coming, and at least several hundred, if not a thousand, more songs. And David really is tops in the tenor field. Sadly, the pianist, Anthony Burger, died of a heart attack while on a cruise playing for the Gaithers, but he was excellent as well.

I second what the other commentors said, David's voice is otherworldly! Please do not hesitate to hear more of his music catalogue. Bill and Gloria Gaither are songwriters of many many hymns, some of which you may find in your local Church Hymnal. David Phelps has one of the most amazing voices I have EVER heard. There are a handful of singers that when they sing a Gospel song it is as though they have an extra gear with added power and passion and when they sing it is like the song penetrates and consumes your entire body. David Phelps and Elvis Presley are two that come to mind that when they sing a Gospel song you can see that they are putting every ounce of their being into the song and it becomes an incredible experience for all that hear it.
It's not so much that they put every ounce of their being into the song, it's that the Holy Spirit of God infuses & inspires their being while they're singing...it's one of the ways God speaks to us humans...through that Spirit...and it gives most of us the that electrifying feeling. Listen to that Voice when it's "speaking" to you!

Please react to his version of Whitneys "I have nothing" it is very new this video was late 90s or early 2000s he is 53 now and did the Whitney a couple of years ago at 51 and you will love it for sure. He is a fellow Texan from the Houston area and went to Baylor and now lives in Nashville and he and his wife have 4 kids. From what I have heard he is an amazing person.
