Among us came at the perfect time. With all of the competitive games were really getting old. A game where you can have fun with friends and genuinely have a good time.

It didn't come at the perfect time. I was kept on life support for years and suddenly got better. Because yes, this game is years old.
been playing it with my cousins at family gatherings since it was mobile only in 2018. i somehow branched the game to my entire high school lol
Honestly the Henry Stickmin Collection really helped too, since Innersloth helped on the game

Eh, not really. Even if you saw the characters in the final stickmin game it's not like you knew who they were.
I am actually surprised Among Us is getting popular while Deceit isn't and as far as I know only couple of big streamers played it.
Casey Nivans probably because deceit is more of a horror game and more complicated so kids wouldn’t watch that so the streamers would get less viewers
Deceit takes a lot more skill and I think it's better but everyone is so on among us that it's never going to happen.
Deciet is more like dead by daylight in my opinion

I am a little disappointed because the coincidence is too close to call. Like what are the odds that the same company that releases a remastered and also adding some new stuff to an internet game is also in the same week that Among Us, which has been out for 2 years, starts popping off? I am very happy for Inner Sloth, but I wish that the Henry Stickmin collection got as much attention as Among Us.
@@Jon-rv9oh you gotta realize that this is a three man team, they have to carefully pinpoint what updates will give them success, and they knew that once people finished Henry Stickmin and saw they had another game, they had to try it. Also, I'm pretty sure Henry Stickmin DID get an insane amount of attention, I don't know a single let's player who didn't play it.

The first big youtuber I remember playing this was Kaif and the Slave Raiders. They were already playing a whole bunch of other mafia/deduction games and were hella fun to watch.

I mean, Among Us is cheap, simple, and some of the people apart of Innersloth made the childhoods of many.

Yeah that's definitely a very big part. Innersloth saw the golden opportunity and took it. And I'm glad they did because the game really deserved more players
it also had numerous among us references tossed into the final chapter that is only available within it, including plushies of the crew and a couple of fails

A big thing is that it’s available right now on mobile for free. That makes people go, hey look! He’s playing it, il play it
I remember playing it and when the 3rd map was released, it was the first time i paid in a mobile game.

SR with Kaif and NoBeans and social deception games is a match made in heaven, the group just works well with the these type of game
probably one of the favorite groups to watch play games like Among Us, SCP, and Witch It and many of the other games they play.

Everyone was talking about and playing Fall Guys but now it’s like that game doesn’t even exist, everyone just forgot about it as soon as Among Us became popular

I am Brazilian, and can confirm that Godenot probably helped popularize among us. I don’t remember any of his videos being popular, but the mobile version of the game got super popular here in 2018-2019.

Henry Stickmin, Incredible Accessibility to play on Mobile and PC, decreasing the market gap especially for people living on developing countries (like me), simple yet fun to play and watch gameplay, and a great side game to play when stressed out with competitive ones.

The branching out aspect (7:47) is probably my favorite part. I’ve played with friends of friends who are now becoming my friends and it’s just a great way to expand your circle. Listening to that creator speak wholesomely about his new buddy was so endearing

It fills every void of Board and digital Games, while making it accesible to every group of friends around the world. I have a group of friends and it was alway a battle about finding a game that everyone could play, that had more than 5 players and that everyone could run. Among Us IS the game that got everything.

i am Brazilian and among us was a pretty popular game in our school(when it was only one map), everyone played together ,i stop playing when the second map was released(was loosing the love for the game) until i see those big streamer and youtuber releasing videos about it, it was surprising

Very informative, thank you very much. What i learn about this is that a rapid growth can be very counter productive, like for fall guys. Not saying that it's dying or whatever, but the devs were pretty overwhelmed and there is some decrease of interest. And among us on the other hand had a sustainable growth. Which I think is the most ideal thing, whatever your project is, and of course never give up I guess.

I played this game in 2019 i was like interesting name and look at the pictures on the Play store and installed it and played with my brother that game was so addicting and back then the two other maps where Play to play

I didnt play it much but when there wasn't anything to play it was fun wait *is* fun
I think one of factors leading to its success is the complexity of interpersonal communication.For among us the gameplay loop is homogeneous,with tasks and goals being the same.However,since the game makes use of the human mind,it provides the players with a lot of paths to victory.Also, I think this genre of games contains a lot of interaction between players,since spectating the bickering between players has always been entertaining,thus greatly increasing relatability.
