just finished the whole job and its a success it turned out the knock sensor wire was chewed up. so it wasnt talking back to the computer. i ended up soldering the wires and wrapped it with a thick insulation. now my pilot runs a lot faster and there is no more delay when i punch the gas.....
its pretty easy, I recommend using a angled wrench to reach the bolts easier and maybe a small hammer is they are on to tight, also the far left bolt was the hardest part... its next to the power steering pump I highly recommend loosing up the pump then you can reach the bolt super easy.
there are 4 bolts 12mm....the far left one is the hardest next to the power steering pulley you may have to loosen the pully to access the bolt with an angle wrench
@@fixyowhip4394 yeah. Ended up figuring it out. There is 5 bolts on the back side of the intake manifold on the odyssey. Sorry to blow up like that. Was ready to commit suicide when I was working on the car for my wife. Lol.

I would recommend putting the far left bolt back on, just to be safe... you don’t want that to be an issue later then you’ll have to go back there just to install the far left bolt.
@@fixyowhip4394 ok that's all I need, and it's not that big a deal anyways to take off power steering, you don't need to disconnect the hoses btw, just bolts and move it over
I am not lucky the 09 pilot’s manifold got stuck on the driver’s side rod. Seems using too much thread lock, I have to give up after using heat gun and pry bar😂
Isht Lutz this job took me about 3-6 hours mostly because I was recording but there is a pesky screw near the power steering pump, once you get to removing the manifold.
@@soukiallen1 that's all that's needed, and then that stupid plastic bracket, but I had the whole engine open to do a valve adjustment aka the VERY VERY long way
You didn't show how you actually took out the manifold to get to the sensor. I can't remove mine after removing 2 nuts and 2 bolts. What's the secret. That is a big step!!
Okay so I had to actually loosen up the power steering pump and there’s also a secret under bolt, that’s under the manifold. you need a special tool to reach it I noted that part in the video.
It's actually 5. There's one in the back on the right hand side. You should take this video down dude. If you can't show the entire process, you shouldn't make it public.

5 bolts to remove intake manifold and you don't need to take off the bolts around the plenum that you call a valve cover.
I was thinking the same, the manifold looks like is only the center bolts.
will the location of this knock sensor 1 circuit 1 be the in the same location for a Honda Odyssey 2014 LE?
Hello, did you use all new gaskets?
Yes indeed I did use New gaskets just to be safe
How many bolts to take off lower intake? I got the 4 but mine isn't coming out. I took off the power steering pump too!
I believe it had 8 there’s 2-3 on the lower size
There's 5. He didn't mention the 5th on the right back side of the manifold.
Good stuff😊 Keep up the good work !
How hard was it to get the front manifold off

Did the wiring harness come with the sensor and, if so, where did you buy it?
I bought the wiring harness from the Honda dealer it was about 15$
Every knock sensor breaks in half and is brittle harness just get the whole kit
stupid mice chewed up my wiring I could see it on my little camera now I need to pull my intake off as well to fix the wiring
Wtf man. You didn’t even show the hardest part.. how do younger the intake manifold right over the sensor off...?

It's on the pilot too. He didn't mention it
Anybody know if it's fine to not put the far left bolt back on?After taking it off I put the pump back on,can I get away with it or too risky?

How did you access the far left bolt of the lower manifold?
I had to remove/loosen the 2 bolts holding the power steering pulley after that I was able to access the bolt with a angle wrench. Hope this helps.
You don't need to unhook the hoses on power steering pump just move it,take the plastic doohickey off and it's right there plenty of room
It's right there when the steering pump comes off any wrench or ratchet will do
How long would you say this job takes?
Isht Lutz this job took me about 3-6 hours mostly because I was recording but there is a pesky screw near the power steering pump, once you get to removing the manifold.
I just did mine,2hrs
You HAVE to take the power steering pump off,6 bolts including the plastic rack which really looks no purpose other than to be In your way,1 bolt

6 minutes of nut loosening and fast forward through the main part of the job. Kind of useless when you can't see what your changing.
And how much would you say should be charged to do this job for somebody?
Isht Lutz I actually did this for a family friend for free, try using repair pal to compare your local shop prices.
@@fixyowhip4394 is Repair pal am APP?
Is it just one or two sensors?
Just one sensor on the top inside the engine I seen.
@@fixyowhip4394 thx for the reply
It's 24mm for the knock sensor itself not 32mm
i used 27mm for my honda pilot 2015
