Another awesome video alex. The best thing about your videos is not only do we get to watch a great fishing session but we always learn something new. just what we need during these lockdowns. Thanks mate
We worked out that youll get drummer at night on a full moon on squid strips a few years back.had many great night sessions fishing this period. Great content as always Alex
Cheers mate, I enjoy your videos. Great to see you mentioned eating the smaller model silver drummers. I don't listen to people when they say a fish is no good to eat, I like to try it myself. I gave them a go and they taste fine.
Hey thanks for mentioning you liked the videos. Yeah very common for anglers. It to like a specific species. Aussie Salmon is a good example. Back in the 90s most anglers mentioned kings were pretty ordinary as well. Certainly not the case , virtually the top five eating species. And little silvers are fine thanks for mentioning.
Sick stuff Alex night pig fishing def a first on utube still pioneer in fishing super liked the vlog and that lil silver drummer they are a great sport fish if yur good enough to catch em and have em figured out get them here at home down my local beach high tide on the Point n get em massive crab or cunji baits right at yur feet 10kg n bigger almost pull like a silver ghost maybe better string puller to the horizon frothing watching keep em comming cheers Alex
Hahah massive silver drummer rock hard!!! Around Sydney they are not so common but occasionally you will get into them in numbers. I recon they pull harder than a silver ghost. Thanks for the message mate. Much appreciated 👍
Thanks for the video. Nicely put together. Have you fished for luderick at night with weed and a float? Perhaps with a little glow stick on the mast? Cheers
Great Vid Alex. Not sure if Rock fishing for me as I experienced it in kurnell not long ago. Just curious about your comment, regarding not releasing fish in the same spot as it may terminate the bites. What do you mean?
Interesting take on my favourite fish, Alex - an old guy I know gets them at night but I like to see where I am putting my feet as I had a pretty bad fall in January this year fighting a big pig (rock spike boot got caught in a crevice when the 50 cm + pig lunged down at the face of the ledge) needless to say, my wife was not impressed. even though I did bring home 5 pigs and 1 bream for the table that day!
Thanks Frank I hear you! You really have to move around slower at night and it is bloody dangerous that’s for sure. Yeah I bet your wife was not happy😉 Otherwise I hope your ok now.
@@AlexBellissimo Thanks Alex - still have some scars as a reminder - maybe a good thing as I slow things down now on the rocks and have a newfound respect for just how razor sharp barnacles are! Hope to see a distance casting vlog for snapper soon as I am sure many viewers would love to see this specialized form of fishing.
Great video mate and we'll done you certainly had a great session, I've caught small drummer on a light 4-7kg rod but I'm thinking of chasing some bigger pigs would a 10'6 8-15kg rod do the trick? I like that rod you're using it looks really nice
@@0whc In my experience, Pigs tend to feed in deeper foamy water during the day as it gives them some cover, then move into shallower and calmer feeding zones under the cover of darkness to graze on weed and crustaceans.
Wow epic session there Alex, well done! I was wondering what bait do you usually use for pigs at night? Cunjevoi or prawns? Also wondering how long you usually fish one spot before moving on? Cheers
Hi there Paul I used prawns and Cunji on the night. How long I fish a spot ? Depends on the angler. If You walk away from a spot that is not being fished properly how would you know when to walk away? The quick answer is if your not getting bites go to another spot within half an hour. Thanks for mentioning you liked the vid cheers
Thanks mate a pretty good bag of pigs. Pigs are a very shy fish. So feeding at night especially on those calmer evenings allows them to get in to the areas where the softer, younger food is.
Some great tribal knowledge there Al, thanks for sharing.👍 I've always been curious about fishing for pigs at night. How shallow do the spots that you target get? And would you tend to use the same amount of burley at night as you would during daylight hours?
Thanks very much mate Pig fishing at night can be either shallow or deeper water. The amount of. Burley should be really consistent. You may have noticed I have two containers around my waist. One for bait and one for burley. That allows me to burley in small amounts consistently. Keep the flow of burley trickling 👍
Watching you do it Al proves we have been doing it wrong all these years! Thanks for sharing. 👌 👌 👌
Hey Peter
Just another aspect to rock blackfish. It’s certainly safer fishing for them during the day hahah. Thanks for watching the video cheers mate

Awesome work as usual
Thanks heaps George
Certainly interesting at night and quite dangerous too haha
great vid
Thanks mate
Something different to what your normal pig vids are. There a common species in the dark off the rocks.
Thanks for the video. Nicely put together.

Hey Wilson
Sorry late reply. The rod/reel is in the description if you would
Like to check it out. Appreciate you mentioning you like the video
Alex what bait are u using at night
Hey Brett
Sorry late reply. You can use a range of baits. Cunji, peeled prawns and white bread id also good as you may burley up with bread.
Most of the big bream 40 to 52 cm I get are at night ! Very good with full moon and 4 nights after full moon!
Awesome video Alex. What is the Ib/kg of your main braid line?
Hey Rami thanks for mentioning you enjoyed the vid. You can check the description, all of the info is there.
What gear are you using Alex?
Hey Patrick
Check out the description section, the gear and accessories are there.
Epic, great vid. Question mate, I’m in the market for a new life jacket - is the Hobie a good’un?
Hey Mark thanks heaps mate 👍
You can check the description for the life jacket. I recommend the Hobie life jacket
Cheers Alex 👍🏻
Interesting. I find they go completely off the bite by dusk irrespective of tides and other conditions. Might just be my spot
i find most people like to burley heavily at night, luring the drummer into shallower waters at night
@@arthurkim3444 at my spot ive had very productive sessions and as soon as the sun starts setting the bite stops immediately, both high and low tide 🤔
I am not sure about your location but maybe shift to a different area with a submerged shallow shelf. The pigs may come up to feed there after dark.

Solid catch! Didn’t really think they would bite that much in the dark! 12:02 Do you have an idea why it is?
