- Apologies for the audio quality in this video. I had the gain set way too high and didn't realize it, so I was peaking all over the place 😭

It was a pleasure. Come back and see me soon. Great little video you put together there. I enjoyed it.
For sure! The viewers really loved you in the video and are asking for me to part out an entire build there, so will definitely will be back sooner rather than later!
I´m gonna watch your episode on Netflix, got me interested as i watched Danny´s video and found about you! I like paranormal. Thanks Danny and Don!
don is definitely a unique character. I thought he was joking about being on unsolved mysteries but I looked it up and its real. you should do a complete build at his store!
Watching that episode now.
Yea, more Don would be fun. Great idea.
@@TheITonyO what episode is it?
@@TheITonyO nvmd , igot it.
sorry
@@rl4416 Volume 5 Episode 2
nah bro go back to that store that owner is cool af
yes indeed !
Thanks for throwing us in your video and the shoutout! This was a fun and entertaining interaction!
Don is a paranormal investigator, that's interesting.
Glad to see some local pc shops. A hidden gem forsure.
Use the broken graphics card on a projector at the next LAN party. Party lights! Turns lemons into lemonade.
hahaha that would be funny
For anyone interested in Don, he is indeed in Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix, Volume 5, Episode 2.
Don at PC Recycle seems really nice and very affordable prices
those pc recycle guys were so awesome hahahah, amazing to see such kind and friendly people
I got ghosted a few weeks back on a motherboard. He never arrived at the meetup. Just got Ghosted on a tape deck this morning. I decided to wait on his call for the meet up and silence... I no longer go unless I get an address. Along with a confirmation of a meet up.
I always tell people I will message them and hour before hour schedule meet to confirm that we are still good for the schedule time
Why did you go with no conformation? You dumb? 😂
I'm sorry that was rude of me but it was the first thing that came to mind
@@FantomMisfitOh I had conformation and a meeting place up to when I got there. He stopped responding when I arrived and just nothing.
That recycling center had some really good deals and you met some really cool people. The cool people makes it worth it. Nevermind the deals. Those people seemed cool.
loved that storeowner, he has the quick witted/dry british humor lmao
DUDE I would LOVE a place like PC Recycle and Don .. funny part my friend owns a mechanic shop his name is Don also get the same vibes but now also wanna see his unsolved mystery
17:23 That is some of the finest bedhead I've seen in years. Keep up the good work!
Not everyday is a good hair day. 😅
18:00 that beaver person was probably the original owner of the card 🤣
This happened to me late last year. I was selling an almost brand new computer that I had built for my daughter who then wanted a Macbook, so I was selling it dirt cheap, losing hundreds on it but it was near Christmas and I thought I was doing a nice thing. The guy facebook messaged me right before and even said he was on his way there but once I got there, nothing. I was completely ghosted. I sat there for over 30 mins and never got a thing. I was so angry and tired by then that I just said screw it, got a starbucks and drove the 30 min drive home. Oh did I say I offered to drive closer to him to help him out? I usually have good results on FB because I figure most people don't want to do dirty business with their real name but some people just don't give a Frack.
Every Good Deed shall not go unpunished.
i love the store owner hes the type of guy i would spend alot of money in his store honestly
I really like Don, wish I had someone like him in my area selling pc parts
Dude. I would buy stuff from Don and PC Recycling. Seems like such a good dude.
I just found your channel and I am really enjoying your content. I recently was able to build a system with a 3070 and a Ryzen 5700X for 530 bucks after I was able to find some deals on FB. It was my first time bargain hunting to see how cheaply I could build a midrange system with used parts and I had a blast. Your videos are really bringing that back for me. The only new part I used was a 1tb Teamgroup Nvme, since i was iffy on buying used storage.
Ya. I have had some people that flake out on sales. They seem to want something for nothing.
I enjoyed the video as I used to shop at a store that's about 1+ hours away and another that's most of 3 hours away . As I'm retired ( poorer ) and I don't travel far very often to enjoy shopping at those stores . I have 40 to 60 computers ( mostly desktops ) " old ones " and I fix , refurbished or just part out to repair others . I do the work for free and sometimes pay out of pocket for newer and better parts that I give away ...
We need a Don episode.
Noab - Don’s a paranormal investigator. Those parts might be haunted 👻 which means you’ll be ghosted twice 😂
the pc recycle dude is such a gigachad. what an absolute goat for PC gamers at this economy
You Think thats bad, but when I was 17, my dad and I drove an hour to go pick up a car only to have the guy call us 45 mins into our trip to say someone bought it. Get back home all disappointed, and my best friend calls me and says he got a new car lol. Sure you can see where this is going, but he picked me up in the car I was supposed to purchase that day lol.
wow man so did your friend know u were going to buy the car and went and bought it before u ?? if so thats not a friend
@@seanwood5443 nope not at all haha. It was completely random, we both needed cars, were both super into Honda's, and that car was a sweet deal. My buddy just got there before me. I was going to pull the same move and surprise him😂
@@seanwood5443 it all worked out in the end though. I ended up with Imo a better car than he did
@@2losersinbasement lol hahaha all good bro
Same exact thing happened to me except it was over a girlfriend. He had the better car. 😅
Wholesome video! ❤😊 Don is the one guy we need in our life.
Its gotta be a nice treat just meeting a British dude in the middle of Washington
One guy said meet me here so I said OK. I drove 15 miles and said I am here. He replied with I did not mean right now LOL
Luckily, he met me later that night near my place.
Confirmation is key! That one was my fault.
You should do a budget build episode with all parts bought from Don store and compare to previous budget builds
The shop owner is awesome wish we had a shop around here like that my small town is not the best pc city.
I wish there was a place like PC Recycle around here, that is kind of awesome.
In my country, a thumbs up often means the opposite-it’s like a thumbs down. The marketplace is full of dishonest people. If you try to test an item they might get upset, and I swear it works as a tactic to show that you don’t trust them. If the tactic doesn't succeed, they might give you a thumbs up . From my experience, if you don’t test electronic items, you should expect anything to happen. I’ve been scammed a lot when I trusted random people. Sometimes it works out, but most of the time it doesn’t, and it's not worth the risk, especially on a low budget
DUDE. I messaged that same guy for that 1080ti!! He stopped talking to me too, and I didn’t end up making the drive to monroe, sorry you had to make that drive 😢
that shop must have a ton held up in inventory. can't imaging having that much stock
A for effort. Lol. Great to see all the cool peeps in the community there though. Really nice to see.
Damn, PC Recycle is giving him all the deals
in my area (southeast) , all of the e-waste recycling locations are either big scrap warehouses, or liquidation companies who only sell to businesses. I wish I could find a place like this which actually resells the stuff.
I found a working RTX 4070 in my area for 120 bucks, the seller thought it was broken and I bought it because I could sell it on eBay for parts for about 300 bucks based on my research. I took it home to confirm it being broken and it turned out to be perfectly fine. Ran a bunch of testing on it, including times spy on loop for about an hour, and there was completely nothing wrong with it. It also came with the box in perfect condition.
Parroting another comment, you definitely should do a complete cheap build from Don's store.
Don is a budget king. What a guy!
Great deal on the GPU regardless. The xfx one sells fast for 80-90 on jawa all day long
Dude I just found your channel. I had no idea you were so close to me, I’m over in Everett.
Great to have some helpful used parts shops like Dons , I wish him well from the exposure ( and hope they don't find the body buried under the motherboards LOL).
Frigging Epic Shop!!! Go PC Recycle Go!!!
I used to go to the PC Recycle in Lynnwood years ago. I also used to go to PC Club. I miss PC stores for sure.
Honestly, 40$ for a 580 is a steal
A guy locally in my area sells 580s sapphire 8gb for $40
Its not even a steak nowdays, you can get them all day long
I had same things happen to me on facebook marketplace aswell - either they're late 20+ minutes or don't answer when you're in their vicinity. One was a modded xbox 360 (didn't answer for 20+ minutes. called me 40 minutes later while I was on my way home.) , one was a laptop (kept answering late. Same city so I passed his house but gave up on it. He'll make me wait and I just hate when they do that), one was a office chair (Late 20+ minutes. Still got the white leather chair. Good find, just annoying wait) .
Ow and the very first attempt was a laptop that ended up not working - locked windows, doesn't know the password and the usb ports ain't working. It too weak and cheap to bother fixing. what a jerk.
Don The Ghost Whisperer
Man at the counter got some free advertising like a BOSS! Nice!
love the local content!!
Market place is such a headache for me a seller of anything LMAO even as a buyer it makes you wonder how many braincells people have and how they even drive daily
Danny you need to watch the Unsolved Mysteries 2020 Vol 5 Episode 2 with Don, its pretty crazy. You definitely need to visit him more on the channel
Oh yea I watched it the day it came out, very interesting stuff
I ghost a lot of people if they dont agree to meet me at the police department parking lot.
I always confirm it a couple of times before committing. I remember there was this person that said that he agreed with the sell price he listed and that he'll meet me in an hr. That hour passed and so I was driving to the location, which is only 5 min from my place then I saw an "Update" because of high demand, he chose to sell it to a guy that offered him 5% more than his listing price. He didn't even messaged that the deal was cancelled lmaooo.
Edit: Listing price was $100 for RX 5700, he chose $5 more even after he accepted the offer and agreed to meet; his integrity is worth $5 🤣
Don is a standup guy! Definitely a goto place
that shop is a true tresor for the gaming Community
Hi Danny! I wish I could have talked to you before you returned that MSI RX 580 8GB, as I have seen this particular type of artifacting before. It usually is the memory timings. I would have tried to flash it with the stock BIOS before returning as the previous owner probably flashed the video card with a higher frequency setting for the VRAM and/or the GPU. But not an issue seeing as you had returned it. Cheers Danny! P.S. I love your Videos! Keep the great work!
The Tx 750 was an absolute tank back in the golden years of pc building.
sounds like a desiredspec situation
LMAO good luck returning it hope for the best
Facebook Marketplace is an absolute jungle. It's why I prefer to buy new. You never know who you're dealing with
When you asked to test the card. he tripped out and knew he fucked up. guaranteed, BTW. That is Don Philips, who says a spirit named "becky" is is sidekick.
That's my new red flag for buying. If a seller has great communication, and then it just falls off a cliff suddenly, or they're very late to respond. Pass. That's what happened to me, when I got scammed with a dead RX 5700XT.
You need to do a collab with Don
Never been ghosted because i make sure that I get an address where to meet first before stepping out the door. Although, I did pack up everything in my car only to get a canceled sell. 😒
5:20 that is a smart dude right there 😂
I had an old PSU take out several parts of a system, first and last time I use a PSU of which I know that it's 8+ years old. Seeing you buying an old PSU, is uh... causing PTSD lol.
That 580, great deal for 40. Yea they test if it works but that's probably not more then, can you get to the splash screen. So an ancient 580 like this, not unlikely to have issues. Sometimes a simple repaste can do wonders but in this case it was better to drive the 15-20 minutes to get it replaced.
I used to sell things through ebay and a Dutch 2nd hand site, I got ghosted a few times but not as buyer but as seller. People agreeing to a price and a time to meet and they do not show up or respond to any messages. This is not uncommon in the world of the 2nd hand markets. It happens.
shop owner knew the drill
Oh wow i just realised we both have the same phone OnePlus 12! Great videos
Ha! I'm in NYC and ghosting is a normal occurrence here...and it never doesn't suck. Cool you found a good PC recycling center, we have exactly zero of them in even as big an area as NYC. I thankfully have a few outside of the city, so all is not lost here, just need to travel a bit.
Oh, and I really want to see that Unsolved Mysteries, maybe the guys a mass murderer who came to the US to hide out....hey, ya never know 😂
Hopefully the lesson is learned here. Attractive products at overly attractive prices are generally never worth your time or trouble.
Speaking of the first online guy, not the store owner. The store owner seems pretty cool.
Ooff... that's some bad luck... glad you got it replaced and sorted.. had a similar scare recently. Bought a msi gtx 1080ti for $200 canadian from a kid that said they redid the thermal paste and just wanted it gone but wouldnt show me a test run or let me test run it.. thankfully the risk paid off, ran a bit warm at first but after a full pc clean, normal temps all round. Now I got a strix gtx 1060 6g just sitting here lookin sad 😂😂
Can’t learn street smarts from someone else, only in the fire.
a laptop with a eGPU setup for your trunk testing might be a more manageable for you on the road.
Hello, your talent is incredible thanks to your content we all learn i'll subscribe
Lol I like how Don gave himself a shout out.
Great video sir, also that guy was super nice
Hope you blow up bro, im binging some vids now :D
"Great deals come and go." I like that. Just be patient... ⌚
I just got home from picking up an RX 6800 non XT for $175. I normally don't bother with AMD GPUs for flips, because they don't sell well here, but this was too good to pass up, and it works perfectly.
Yeah a lot of people just post GPU's and call it good not knowing they need to put a load on it.
I wondeer if you couldn't have met him and then ask to check the card? He'd have a hard time saying no!
I also got ghosted once I was supposed to meet someone 1 hour away for a 2070 and a 750 watt modular power supply for $100 and I showed up and he never responded
My previous GPU be like:
People, refusing to test parts(GPU/PSU/etc) or delaying too much are usually not worth it... I never buy a GPU if they find excuse for not testing it, I also have a rig just for that, that I can carry around...
Store owner was cool asf W
GPU, I'd suggest to use the NVIDIA memory test program. to see if it is a memory module going bad The program is called M.A.T.S. for nvidia.
Have you checked out re-pc in Seattle or south center? The one in Seattle is pretty cool. They have tons of stuff.
Damn, do you think you would pick me up a 750W power supply and ship it to CA?
Wish I had a pc recycling centre near me :yt:
you should go back and ask Don if Becky could help you diagnose problems with graphics cards
Love the guys British humour.
this store is really cooool
Clean the slot and card edge and reseat the card
Wise advice.
Last year I was selling my younger brothers old pc case and psu that I upgraded for him and was trying to sell them. Then a guy that was interested was asking if I had any other pc parts and after he told em was was many many states from me,he suddenly became very rude and I guess he looked at everything I was selling. He the proceeded to assume I was a drug addict trying to get cash?,I reported him to Facebook & Facebook would look over the conversation logs.I was nice the whole time, btw I did sell those parts to some other people locally.
Ghosting it is the norm now. Doesn't bother me at all anymore. It is what it is.
@@ThorntonWillie I'd say if someone ignores my message from the start, or even after a few messages before setting up a date, times, and place to meet, it's no big deal. But completely missing a meeting or ghosting after determining all of that is a bigger deal and a waste of people's time because they could be planning their day around it and canceling other things in order to meet up
@@nerdonabudget I understand that but after working for my self for a long while and people not showing up or answering their phones you get used to it. Learned you can only control yourself and not what other people do, it sucks yes but people suck at times or all the time depends on the person.
i picked two 1080tis up in may for 40$ each and used one for a flip and one i sold for 100$
Volume 5 Episode 2 Unsolved Mysteries if anyone wondering
I use to repair and flip game consoles and i absolutely refused to meet unless they actually confirmed location date and time Edit: First guy probably got an offer for asking and instead of being professional and informing him he just ghosted him.
