Hi Mr, is my favorite band 👋 they are good very good. Fantastic singer and extraordinary drummer. Tamu 👋 I really liked your reaction. I suscribe. greetings.
Yes, women, and specifically Japanese women, are taking the world rock scene by storm; they are so talented, adorable and charming at the same time. Some commenters have said that rock is not dead, it just moved to Japan. The song “Life” is one of my favorites; kinda soulful heavy metal tune.
Thank you for sharing this! Holy smokes! They will be thae next big " all female metal group" out of Japan. I love that vocal, and really got some Janis Joplin vibes listen to it.. Can't wait to hear more from them.
Nemophila did a great version of The Trooper. I Have heard a lot of bands cover this song and never quite get the solo the same. Nemophila played this note for note with perfection. These girls a a super group made from members of other bands. They are legit.
Thank you for getting around to NEMOPHILA, I was lucky enough to be at their last audience live performance in Shibuya, Japan a little under 12 months ago, before the pandemic ruined many bands touring plans. This band has put out more videos than any other band since lock-downs began. Virtually every Friday for the last 6-8 months they have been doing something for their fans. Truly awesome of them. I hope you do many more of their videos, this band deserves more views. Thank you 👏👏👏🤘
mayu - Vocal, SAKI - Guitar, Hazuki - Guitar, Haraguchi-san - Bass, Murata Tamu. They just began in 2019 and did several covers before they released the first two EP's last tear Orion and Raitei. I already bought both and they are phenomenal
Make sure to checkout their next online concert Feb 28th Get your tickets at www.zaiko.io/event/335739 They do good live performances It will be their 4th Online Live performance (5 if you count the Roland Music Festival) Anyone reading this, check them out Also you have 3 days to watch the show as many times as you want
I love to see young kids getting in to old school rock my son is 16 and loves iron maiden and of course liliac now ! He’s learning to play lead guitar and is now putting a band together at school! They just need a cool singer I hope they get a female singer they seem to be killing it just now !
There are 2 new videos of Lovebites (in the studio) updated yesterday on youtube. Search : LOVEBITES - Scream for Me (Studio Live) & LOVEBITES - Don't Bite the Dust (Studio Live)
Nemophila is a super group. SAKI (red guitar) is from Mary's Blood and formerly of Destrose Hazuki (guitar) is from Li-sa-X BAND and formerly of Disqualia Muratatamu (drums) is formerly of SORAMIMI Haraguchi-san (bass) from HöLDERLINS Mayu (vocals) is formerly of LIPSTICK
Ok, a few other folks filled you in on the history, but a little more background color: Hazuki (guitar on our left) is very unassuming but a killer shredder who has played with LIsa-X, Disqualia and various other projects. Saki also keeps busy, not only with Mary's Blood but guest appearances with other groups including Ironbunny. Nemophila started off as a side project but has had such an enthusiastic reception among J-metalheads that they could well be a lasting thing. They've already done an online live concert (with Gacharic Spin) and have turned out several killer original songs. Check out Raitei or Oiran to see them really get down!
Hi Windle! This is the first music video of Nemophila uploaded February 8, 2020. At the end of 2019, these ladies got together to support Mayu, the singer, after she departed from the band, Lipstick. This was their first performance together as a formal group. As you notice, Mayu is singing in English. She doesn't speak English. Only Saki, the lady playing the red Killer guitar, speaks English. All five of these ladies are seasoned professionals. Tamu Murata has played studio drums, backup drums, and in other bands for 7 years. She also plays: keyboards, guitar, bass, and sax. Saki has been playing guitar professionally for 11 years. Hazuki has played guitar for Disqualia, and Lisa X. Haraguchi is the former bassist for Hollerins. Mayu also plays keyboards, but she rarely plays keyboards with Nemophila. Keep watching these ladies. There's a lot of diversity to their music. Russ
Saki has one of her many Babymetal T-shirts on in this video. Besides Nemophila and Mary's Blood she has another project, the band Amahiru with Frédéric Leclercq former bassist of Dragonforce. But I hear from other reactors Amahiru reactions get blocked.
These guys were my best discovery in 2020. They have a great backstory. SAKI is a well known guitarist from the successful band Mary's Blood, she's sorta Japanese metal royalty. Everyone else is from bands that either no longer exist, or are no longer active. Mayu, the vocalist, was looking to do a few small solo concerts in the summer of 2019 and she brought everyone together just to be her backing band for a handful of shows and it just turned out that they really gelled...you get a vibe that everyone feels almost honored to be able to play with everyone else. Like they're all getting a second chance and they're really grateful for it. This video was their first release, so they're still sorta figuring things out as a band. The one released after this is an original song 'Oiran' and it absolutely bangs: th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html
Like others in the comments, Nemophila were my favorite new band of 2020, and are rapidly becoming one of my absolute favorites. They have yet to put out anything I don't like...they can seemingly do no wrong. Their originals are superb. "Raitei" is probably my favorite, but seriously: they're _all_ excellent. Varied, too: from a very modern metal sound like the aforementioned "Raitei," to the emotionally-supercharged "life" (sorry...got something in my eye...), they cover a lot of musical ground in metal without seeming unfocused.
Thanks for finally reacting to my other fave band beside LOVEBITES. Nemophila is a great band, with members with fun personalities. They're a new band and they just have three singles if I'm not mistaken. Their cover songs range from pop rock, hard rock and metal. Hope you react to many more of their music. Their music video for RAITEI is really badass.
This is one of my most favorite bands! They are so very talented, put on a great show or video and love what they are doing. Mayu has a great voice and she can sing anything. I can not wait for a full cd to come out. Thank you for reacting to them. Echoing others below... Raitei or Orian or Soria are originals and will rock your socks off. Trust us, we won't steer you wrong!
A group full of excellent musicians from other successful bands. Saki on guitar is from that one name wonder band Mary's Blood (check out her fingers of steel shredding, Rio's bass, Eye's vocals and Mari's drums with Marionette {th-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/w-d-xo.html} a taste of the wicked Judas Priest sound!!!). Tamu on drums must of just finished before delivering her child. These women like all the female metal bands are insanely talented musicians and are trying to find their niche in this J/Metal genre. A new band formed in 2019 so they are still finding their sound and where they want to go. Great reaction as always, BTW Mayu vocals are the key to them taking off especially when we get to LIVE concerts!!!!!!
Some elements in the new prominence and different qualities of women's metal I see: 1. Women in western metal are better known. Their sisters in Asian metal, and most notably Japanese, are just now becoming better known in the west because we're starving for serious rock because of all the formulaic, overproduced and processed crap on the airwaves here, and the discovery that Japan has not forgotten how to rock is like cool water on a hot dry day. 2. Look up Show-Ya. In the early 1980s, they proved women could play hard rock and metal, which affected Japanese society way beyond music. But within music, they inspired generations of girls to aspire to be kick-ass rock and metal artists. And it is still happening. There are thousands of good all female bands in Japan, besides the many female players in other bands, and at least dozens of excellent, artistic all female bands. Mostly genre-fluid (read that again). BTW, Show-Ya is still active and hosts a festival of all female acts each year - Naon no Yaon. 3. The all female bands are creating their own new and flexible culture; they generally don't have the macho anger-deathcult aspect that had become traditional and predictable in most male metal bands. They are free to smile, laugh, be emotional, and support each other as a team. And the best do all these things. Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila for example. Lovebites plays with the themes and subjects but deliberately chose to wear white to represent the side of the light, per what was said in interview. Exist-Trace are another band worth checking out. A visual Kei band with a wild variety in their music, beginning with some screamo in their early days. My favorite album is Twin Gates and outside that, favorite song, Vanguard.
Thank you for watching NEMOPHILA's bidet. There are still many cover songs and original instruments, so please have a look. From Japanese NEMOPHILA fans
I fell in love with this band after hearing this cover a while back. They are great. Their original work is awesome too. It's a delight to watch them play and have fun while performing.
Yes, Nemophila are incredible. This is so good, here I love Mayus sassy vocal, and the girls harmonizing vocal, which gives this song such a cool feel. And besides Tamu on drums, oh yeah. And Saki and Hazuki nail the guitars. This is one of their first songs on YT together, after coming together for Nemophila. ,my favorite cover of trooper. Nemophila started late 2019, as a project with freinds from other bands. And while writing songs in Tamu's practice area here, they did some covers in 2020. This was done while drummer Tamu was pregnant. Many covers of this song on YT, this is my favorite. And considering Mayu doesn't speak English, it's incredible. She can translate english to japanese.
Love this band. Band Maid and Nemophila are my favorite bands with Nightwish. Try their song Raitei for hard rock, metal. Life has me grabbing tissues, as drummer Tamu holding back her emotions is pure beauty. Kanami from BM, and Saki and Hazuki here are such incredible guitarists. And Akane and Tamu here, are my favorite drummers now, right there with Portnoy, Peary, Bonham, Derossier for. Me.
Check out TRiDENT, all girls Japanese trio rock band, songs Voltage, No Regret, they are another Bandmaid in the making... watch the drummer and the bass guitar player...
I truly love Maiden, but if this impressed you... buckle up. You’re in for a ride. Saki’s guitar skills and Hazuki’s guitar skills are crazy good. And the other members are no slouch either. They have a live stream concert on the 28th if you want to see them perform live.
Another great review WindleEffect. When you get a chance please review the song MARIONETTE from the band MARY'S BLOOD. The guitar player Saki plays in both bands (Nemophila & Mary's Blood). This hard rock / metal band is reminds me of a cross-breed between Guns N Roses & Anthrax. Also, the guitar solo in this video is one of the best and most entertaining moments I've ever seen in any video that I have ever seen. Keep up the great work of video reviews!
This band is freaking awesome, their cover songs are great, hell even made Nicelback sound good. But their original songs are great too. I would start with Oiran and then Raitei. Bonus points for Saki wearing the Babymetal shirt (she is a huge fan and needs to be a Kami sometime). Saki’s other band Mary’s Blood kicks some serious ass. Check out I’m Dead Live th-cam.com/video/5xkFqela3lA/w-d-xo.html and you will see my favorite of the J-Metal bands.
Gotta say I love it but the vocalist need to practice her English a little more, other than that the cover is great. The solo still need a little work to get near the original but hey no band ever cover other bands flawlessly. Except for Halestorm. What I loved more is that they clearly love what they do and there is what bands need. Love for music and have fun with it. Then we have this results. Great and powerful music that endure lifetimes like Iron Maiden has done. This ladies gonna leave their mark in the metal music community.
She actually is completely a newbie to English, and had to memorize the lyrics phonetically to do this. That considered, I think she did great. She is in fact working on learning English, especially since now it looks like they could be touring internationally. They are gaining fans by leaps and bounds!

@@tackle47 I like both of those as well, but it was "Life" that really turned me into a fan of Nemophila
I was following since they formed because I follow Saki on Instagram and she was hinting at Nemophila.
I'll go one step further in saying discovering Nemophila was the best part of my 2020.
Last I knew, Hazuki is still a guitarist for Rami (first vocalist of Aldious) in live concerts, and Li-sa-X Band, plus Nemophila.
