I've loved soccer since I was a child, for decades now. Ive watched more than 5 videos of Indonesia games. I believe Indonesia is actually on a level similar to Iran, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan. But they were still like blind people. Their eyes were opened after losing to Japan and defeating Saudi Arabia. I think the Indonesian team has really come together, they are very dangerous now.

    • @footprimeurer
      @footprimeurer หลายเดือนก่อน +4

@user-qr9pb6oy1w it's great that the defeat to Japan served as a "mental slap" that woke everyone up! That defeat was like a hard slap to the Indonesian national team and its staff..
Right after losing, they realized, "Oh, we're far from the world standard." So they started training seriously, focusing better, and dropping the unnecessary endorsements and show-offs.
The coach finally fielded the best XI without any strange experiments. If previously STY liked to tinker with the lineup like trying a new recipe, it's no wonder the team didn't click and even lost to a team like China. Thankfully, the moment against Japan made him realize there's no room for jokes in a competition this big.
And the result? Bam! 200% energy against Saudi Arabia and a 2-0 win. So, if Indo want to stay competitive, don't wait for a "Japan Moment" every time to get serious. This mindset and preparation should have been the standard from the start. Because if every match is treated like a final, the results would be vastly different!

There's big difference between Japan and other team, it was consistency. Japan actually make their own tier. Their move, transition and focus are amazing. 100% sure this form can advancing into knockout stage. Still questionable for other team, also WC favorite team like S. Korea and Australia. But there's something that will surprising in football, it was Momentum. Indonesia have big momentum right now, anyone who can beat them i think would directly qualify to WC. At this moment, Australia can't just have mindset "okay we will not throw any point, atleast we got 1" because goal difference just 4-7.
So, while other team fighting for WC. Japan enjoy their cup of tea😂

I also agree that STY should play Marcelino more. He is the best player in that team for me this whole time, alongside Idzes, Haye and Verdonk and that probably a controversial statement for other Indonesia fans. I dont know why the fans hate him so much. We need a player who is confident with the ball and can beat the opponent player and create chances. Although I know sometimes he made errors, especially in decision making.
But one thing I like from the last match is at last STY played him in number 10 role. Because usually he played him on the right wing (which he doesnt fit well) in favor to Ragnar and Struick to play freely from the left to the middle in attack

Thanks for creating content on Asian football! There’s a big gap between Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams in Asia. With four matches left, the gap has already widened, which doesn’t look good for the World Cup. I think we’ll see some embarrassing results for Asian teams, just like in CONCACAF, where there’s a big gap between the top three teams and the rest.
Africa, on the other hand, is much more balanced. For example, if Morocco is the best team and South Africa is in the top 10, the gap between them isn’t that big.
For Saudi Arabia, I remember a football expert saying that bringing elite European players into their league could hurt their national team. Domestic players can’t compete with these stars, so they end up on the bench and lose motivation. If you look at the AFC Champions League, Saudi teams dominate, but Japan benefits more because they rely on domestic players, which helps their national team.
As for Qatar, I think they’ll stay 4th and make it to the next round. With a long break till March, maybe they’ll even sack their coach.

2nd place is open for any team in group C, Indonesia still has two home games against Bahrain in China. Looking back at the previous games, Indonesia held Saudia Arabia and Australia goalless at home, so I believe Indonesia can grab those 6 points at home. I’m saying this not only because I’m Indonesian but objectively looking at the games so far, if we can held Saudi Arabia and Australia goalless at home, even a win against Saudi, what makes you think we can’t do that against Bahrain and China at home?
My honest opinion for the 2nd place, looking at how tight this group is, is up for grabs for either Indonesia and Australia, so let’s see the first game in march if Indonesia can hold Australia to a draw or even snatch a win, then I’m fully convinced Indonesia is going to finish 2nd. Even if not, at least I believe we can make it top 4.
Cheers. Always waiting for your contents anyway. Always nice to have some objective view about our team because the hype is just crazy right now with the waves of quality players coming into the team and everything sometime it could get into your head 😅

I was left horrified when I saw how Indonesia beat us or how Japan humiliated us in Jeddah. We never lost to Indonesia until this match, while we never lost or conceded at home to Japan until that shock defeat.

UAE have the least amount of pressure? , everyone was wanted Bento to be sacked after the asian cup, it felt like Bento did not care about the national team, having beef with your most experienced and respected players in the country and not selecting them made it even worst, this window was Bento last chance and finally decided to use his brain and not overthink his lineup. Not qualifying for the world cup this time would be a total disaster, especially when you think about the last 2 qualifying cycles 2018 and 2022, Yahya Al Ghassani asked the fans to calm down and give them a chance and they are being too harsh on the players, there a lot of pressure on this team to qualify since a lot people think that this is our last chance to qualify.

After this window my hope for the Aussie NT has kinda evaporated. Popovic has come in and made us more defensive - He's not going to shift from his standard 5-4-1 formation, Even against Bahrain, why do you need 5 defenders and 2 dm's for Bahrain? I mean no disrespect it's just they play 1 striker and sit deep all game against us. Why play into that? There was a player I mentioned Anthony Caceres in an older post, he played well enough, but Popovic played him as a DM, ensuring he rarely got anywhere near the attacking third - yeah I got monkey pawed there, be careful what you wish for I guess. 😂I can't see how the likes of Irankunda, Boyle etc even fit into this system, because they won't do enough defending for Popovic. I think Australia only getting 2 points from the last 4 games is a genuine possibility. Look forward to your report on AFC keeper's.

Socceroos pathway is fairly clear for March but for the love of god can we please move on from Matty Ryan and move forward with Gauci?? Also would love to see Yengi Bos and Irankunda play in attack together for at least the first 80 minutes we have no attacking flair otherwise. Our defence is pedestrian and slow Souttar is our best defender can we not pair him with some pace to counteract how slow he is? Anyway the next match against Indonesia will determine second place . A socceroos victory followed by China in the next game will give us the chocolates

The weirdest fact is that Australia has remained second since October, despite their extremely bad performances, partly because they are the only team, for now, to gain a point from Japan.

    G'day Jack and Michael,
I loved the collaboration video 📹
Woohoo! There's another nation that's underperformed more than my beloved Australia 🇦🇺... absolutely Qatar 🇶🇦 at this point in time ⏲️
I think they'll scrape through to Round 4 of AFC WC Qualifying, but who knows from there 🤷‍♂️
You could name Maty Ryan as one of the GK's who's dropped their bundle and has been suspect for a while now. His positioning for Bahrain's 🇧🇭 first goal was very poor. God knows why he was so far off his goaline 🤯
Joe Gauci should have been in goals for that game.

Most Arab countries such as Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia except Iraq use their money to win, just look at the quality of their games, look at Qatar how many controversial matches they are involved in. How India suffered when Qatar's controversial goal in round 2, 3 penalties in the AFC final for Qatar, and in the AFC U23 controversial red card in the match against Indonesia. Meanwhile, we know how controversial Bahrain's matches are when played at home, and Bahrain's most controversial match was against Indonesia with unreasonable extra time. and look at how Bahrain is trying to prevent them from playing against Indonesia at home to Indonesia, and the funny thing is that the AFC is taking this quite seriously because the chairman of the AFC is a Bahraini himself. If you want to watch AFC, don't look at the champions, look at how they play

Dude Katanec sucks bad. He just does not pay attention to the game and how it flows. Katanec seriously needs to go and someone from Uzbekistan should pick up the team to finish up the qualifier games. We seriously can’t afford another loss or it will cost us the world cup. Katanec feels like he takes the games too defensively and afraid of creating an offensive play. Uzbek citizens were furious when Uzbek player only defended the second half. of the north korea game not to mention the loss to Qatar. He never pays attention to the uzbeki super league when we clearly have a lot talents there. He is sick. I would be super happy to see him go honestly and may God help him with his health. He even said that he will leave the team if he gets sick again. But he never left🤷🏻‍♂️.

No, Katanec needs to finish the job, replacing him now will be madness bro. Re game against Qatar, just try to read every episode not just number of defenders. Uzbeks started pressing high in early minutes, but with Shomu gone, the pressing ended obviously. Defenders were too high positioned and Shulurov was out of the pitch when first goal happened. Second goal is free kick it's luck as well. The good thing they came back, and the last minute goal was too crazy
I am sure if Mendez gets the same shot again he won't score. I agree Uzbeks are not doing good, but there are positive sides to their game.

I like Asia but most of the less established teams that will qualify for the WC will have a rough time there unless they step up until then or get lucky with a worse team from Concacaf and Ofc getting drawn into the same group to sneak by in third
That said for these teams qualifying alone will be a success and anything beyond that should be considered a bonus worth celebrating like crazy
