I think, instead of farming, you should just clear out one area at a time (a cave, a dungeon, a camp, a tower, etc). It's a lot more fun that way. You're going to die regardless, but it's better than dying in the swamp farming, or dying of boredom
There are like 50 explorable caves/catacombs/etc just in the first area alone. Just go explore the game without asking what is where, that’s the whole point of this game.

Joe is so bad at this game its hilarious. I'm glad he got to experience the trap. Like I did. Although I died about 10 more times in the Selia Crystal Tunnels before making it out alive. I thought Joe would rage way more in the tunnels. If he was alone I think he would have. I wonder if Alex set him up for the tunnels not telling him about the trap. The game is amazing, it's so big, and so full of adventure. You have to be engaged at all times when searching for things to do. You see ruins off on a cliff in the distance and you wonder how do i get there, what's in there, I need to get there, and then you do it. And sometimes you can't get there and have to go through teleporters or story quests but usually you can get there and then the adventure happens. And its rewarding just experiencing and overcoming these obstacles and slowly gaining levels and experience and skill int he game. And then you fight and defeat Margit for the first time and you feel god damn alive! I was just as bad at this game as Joe was this early in too. Now i've finished it once and am starting my second character fresh. I'm surprised OJ isn't playing his own game at one of the other PC's and they can co-op hard boss fights together.

JOE you have to find the MAPS first before following on other peoples guides cuz you wont know where things are. There is a ICON that looks like a Lighthouse in the Map areas that are blurry, thats where the NEW MAP section is. There was one in the section that you were transported by the chest. Just find all the maps first.
I was super low level and got stuck in those crystal caves for so long. Totally missed the way out, thought I had to kill the boss. ALMOST got him a few times before I learned I was in a higher level area and then felt somewhat proud that hadn’t gotten completely annihilated but also super stupid for not realizing I could leave lmao.

Ah, I also spent hours fighting that knight to get his whole drop set for Role Playing reasons. Ended up getting super good at parrying that one specific guy. Just bait his 3 thrust attack and Parry the 3rd hit since you know the timing.

Little tip for newcomers if you want to take on a convoy just hit one of the giants the cart will come to a halt and you can open the chest on the back of the truck without having to kill all the enemies surrounding it.

The foot prints thing is an invisible scarab that gives you new ashes of war. They have a set path so just stand in the path and use a sweeping attack to try and hit it

AJS approach to this game is so frustrating. you dont need to farm for levels! stay in the starting areas there are like 6 or 8 dungeons and bosses that you can kill that will grant you levels as you go lmao. AJS wants to go to areas he is not ready for, so of course the enemies are going to be tough to kill.

Multiplayer is alot bigger then you guys think in elder ring. you guys can essentially summon ea other with a password anywhere you meet up in over land. with a summon you won't have horses tho n are open to invasions. you have to run on foot but you can stay together. you won't be removed until killing a boss. if your in overland that's any overland boss. dungeons are separate summoned areas with there own bosses you will have to resummon in if you find a dungeon your interested in doing. N just fyi there's heavy nerfs on a over leveled person joining your game on there health stam fp n dmg tho they can still use all there spells or weapons etc.
Just for a comparison since Alex. will understand what im talking about as far as distance. you can literally summon someone at the start of lurina n run all the way the manor where rena quest is at together if you wanted.
Also btw when you're looking at items you can press x to look at descriptions in that it would tell you the seal is for casting incantations aswell as description for other items

I hate souls like games even when they wrapped it up in star wars with fallen order. But after 10 hours in elden ring I see that it's basically kingdom come deliverance. You actually feel your character growing from the undead tarnished into a great elden lord with bad ass weapons skills and powers fit for gods
Since this game is open world so there is so much loot and it's hard to find a specific item, they need to add a recent tab or a sorting mechanic or something.

Idk why Margit the fell omen is easier than that tree sentinel at the start. i broke margit to half hp ..when he brings the golden hammer.. and then used jelly summon :D .. also he took a huge chunk dmg from bloodloss from Uchigatana i guess .. First souls game. :)

This is my first game from souls series and I love it I don't find it overwhelming am 100 HRs in just take the time to learn mechanics and level up

There are actually 2 boulders on that path the second one is further down but is a little more tricky to get to fall off the cliff

For a new player like Joe I strongly suggest getting VIT/END to 20/20 before anything else, survive first damage after.

Weapon upgrades matter a lot more anyways. Stat scaling only starts to matter at mid game. So yeah Vigor dump at the start is prob best for a newbie

Because if Joe wants to be a samurai then he will be a dex build and dex builds tend to not use shields
