Put things in your basket and leave them there, chances are you will get an abandoned basket email a few days later and these often have a discount code :)

And finally, i was checking my e-mail, there was one from Yoox containing a coupon code for my birthday....... and I saw this AWSOME Valentino bag... Leather.... burgundy red..... with all these beautiful studs....... DESIGN, PERFECT. And on SALE thanks to the coupon code 😍😍😍 Best sensation ever❤️ Ps by the way i love the final part of your videos: you're soooo funny😂😂😂💕💕
I went to Macy's in Hawaii and the sale assistant told that everything was on sale in 2 days so they held it for me and i went back in 2 days and got discount 👍
Shopping hack: I hold the fabric of any item I like against the skin on my neck, if it's itchy or feels at all unpleasant, I won't even bother to try it on. This is helpful for women with sensitive skin!

I just went through my closet to see what I had and what I needed before I went shopping. Doing so helped me focus while in the store and only buy what I need. Another tip is, if you're not sure on an item, leave it for a day or two and see if you keep thinking about it. If yes, go buy it! This does NOT apply to thrifting though when that item could be grabbed by someone else in minutes. Learned my lesson on that one...
My shopping hack for that TOPSHOP store on Broadway - I have a full time job. I call in sick and take the day to go shopping. LOL. I eat a greek yogurt every day at work SO I get up maybe half an hour after my normal alarm would go off, go to the Chobani shop on Prince and then head over to TOPSHOP. No one is ever really there at 10 AM so the changing rooms are usually empty. So, yeah. Thats my sneaky hack. :) Oh yea, and online Ebates! Money in the mail is my kind of jam.
First for online shopping, sign up Ebates! Second, always add whatever you have your eyes on to the shopping cart. Sometimes after a day or two, they will send you an email with a discount code to get your business. And for some online store, changing between currency can save you a little money as well. I'm from Canada and I often find that it's cheaper to shop in AUD than USD.
If you're a fan of Zara, put all the items that you might like into the shopping bag before they go on sale in around June and December to avoid the crowds in store/running out of size etc. Once the sale starts online at midnight, you can just go straight to checkout.
Last one for shopping online is that when you can't reach the amount to get free shipping, just get extra items then return it after. But of course you can't do this if you don't live close to the store or that if they don't offer free return label.
I had been looking for a pair of burgundy boots that were not suede for what seemed like forever. Finally found them online but my size sold out! I was so upset but I got on the phone called several stores within 3 hours of me and found a pair in my size. They held them for me I drove to pick them up and they were too big and the store did not have the next size down. So I asked the store clerk of there were any other stores in town and if she could call and see if they had that size. There was and they had the size I needed. So I went straight there which was about another 10 minute drive and got my boots. My friends think I'm crazy for doing that, but I don't care I got my boots and now every time I wear them I am so happy!! Like Karen said never give up!!
Karen, I agree with the price on the ticket! I worked in retail years ago and we were trained that the price on the ticket is the price you should pay. And if we accidentally put up sale signs too soon, we HAD to honor the sale price!
Gail Leone i dont know If Its different in other countries but here in Sweden Its not a "must" that we have "to agree with the price" because there is no a "law" that says otherwise. But Ofcourse If you have a really angry customer you just Do it. But We Dont have to 🙃.
Hi can you tell me if this was right. A few months ago I was shopping in a store. On the Clearance rack it said an extra 50% off plus they sent me a coupon for 50% off clearance. When I went to pay the 50% didn't come off. They used my coupon instead to give me 50% off. I said that's not right. That I should have gotten another 50 % off. They said no only with the coupon only.
hey Karen, wonderful video as always. those are great hacks and i really believe in 'don't give up' one. i found a lot of items a year or couple of years after i've been searching through. also calling the stores across the country is a good one, i always try this. i shop %90 online, so i can give an advice for the low or medium end retailers, especially if you are buying shoes or bags. they tend to store them in not so good conditions, so they can be mishaped or get damaged. if i am buying a bag or a shoe from these sites, i make an order for 2 or 3 of the same product. so if one of them is in good condition, i'll buy it and return the other one/s. same goes with 'the last 2 or 3 products'. if they are the last ones, they can be probably not the best ones :) by the way, 2 videos in a week was great idea! i love your energy and voice so much, nothing can be better than watch you twice a week! love you

H&m have just bought out a H&m club where you get points every time you shop and you exchange them points for money off or discount codes and when you sign up you get a 10% discount straight away. Thank you . Love all the hacks. I shop what I like in stores , I bring them home and try again . If I m not completely sure about the items , I keep the tags and receipts and give myself another week to think about it and if I happen to change my mind , I return them or get exchanged. That works .

Re: time of day to shop, I've always found supper time good. Not directly after work, and before 7:30p but there is a light-traffic shopping window in there in my experience!
My sister hides a pair of shoes & i went in the store & found them, brought them.. I show them to my sister. And too are surprise it was my sister. They were the only pair left.. she tried to buy the from but the answer was no.. lol I still have them

Karen, you are the best! Today I went to H&M (in Canada) looking for a couple of things you mentioned in your "Under $200" video. Anyway, my H&M had a gorgeous black trench for $79.00!!! No pockets BUT makes me feel so very Atomic Blonde! So thanks. Anyway, one of the hacks I can share (works maybe 60% of the time) deals with 2 piece items that are sold separately. 2 examples for me recently: I bought some fabulous summer lounge pants at the Gap. They had an adorable matching top, but not in my size at my local store. Gap doesn't phone other stores. I bought the lounge pants anyway (because they would look great with a plain white or blue tank). I went on line to Gap.ca and they didn't have any tops in my size. So I went to the store search, and sure enough one of the mall Gaps had one. I phoned and they held it for me for 24 hours....perfect! At H&M today I was not so lucky. There is a red trouser suit I wanted....had the pants in my size but not the blazer. I bought the pants. I looked on line and there was only one size blazer available - and it isn't my size. Tomorrow I take the trousers back. :-(
I love your videos, though sometimes you have such cool styles, I still find your videos relaxing and helpful. I always find nice and funky style in men's section, so I often buy from there, especially coats and oversized t-shirt (turn it into a t-shirt dress).
Hi Karen Absolutely love your channel When traveling from Heathrow UK to USA ALWAYS go to the 'Duty Free' and visit all your favorite fragrance concessions and those that are maybe out of your budget and just ask for samples..they have loads and will always give you a couple, quite often of their newer ranges. Then, if you make a purchase [I always do for gifts] they give you heaps more !! These are great to keep, one in every handbag, so never without perfume, and the samples are not just little vials, I've had some that are small bottles as well. On one trip I scooped over thirty samples, and that's a lot of perfume !! Hope this works for some of you travelers out there P.S. Your best tip so far ?......look good....wear bigger clothes. As a bigger woman I've struggled with the whole 'sizing' thing for ages... you have freed me of this 'sizism'...thanks Karen x

My hack is that if you want an item go to the website and put it in your cart and leave it there a few days. Some retailers will notice that you haven't bought it and email you a discount or free shipping offers. It doesn't always work but when it does it's a score!!
Hi, sometimes when I see something I like on Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, or whatever. I check the designer's website and usually I get a 1st time purchase %$ off plus free shipping over a certain amount, and if designer does not have physical store; sometimes, no taxes applies as well. Then shop always with Ebates or something like it 😊😊😊 saves good money
Hi babe! I have a tip for online shopping, I use this all the time at H&M. When I shop online, I do this in the evening. If I find what I really must have, but my size isn't availlable, I just check next day early in the morning for it and most of the time it's availlable again. check the plus size clothes when shopping. At Target thier plus size brand Ava & Viv has a really cute velvet t-shirt right now.... That fits my small/medium frame with a nice drape...
i so agree about not giving up. i found my MCM Honshu Tantris backpack this way. i had been lusting over that bag for years ~ 3 to 4 years, come to think of it, and i finally found it on eBay from a reputable seller for almost 50% off the original price tag (granted, it was second hand, but it was unused and in excellent condition). i use Honey and/or Ebates for online shopping. Honey finds and applies coupon codes for you automatically, and Ebates for cashback.

So I went to the store search, and sure enough one of the mall Gaps had one. I phoned and they held it for me for 24 hours....perfect! At H&M today I was not so lucky. There is a red trouser suit I wanted....had the pants in my size but not the blazer. I bought the pants. I looked on line and there was only one size blazer available - and it isn't my size. Tomorrow I take the trousers back. :-(
I love your videos, though sometimes you have such cool styles, I still find your videos relaxing and helpful. I always find nice and funky style in men's section, so I often buy from there, especially coats and oversized t-shirt (turn it into a t-shirt dress).

When traveling from Heathrow UK to USA ALWAYS go to the 'Duty Free' and visit all your favorite fragrance concessions and those that are maybe out of your budget and just ask for samples..they have loads and will always give you a couple, quite often of their newer ranges. Then, if you make a purchase [I always do for gifts] they give you heaps more !! These are great to keep, one in every handbag, so never without perfume, and the samples are not just little vials, I've had some that are small bottles as well.
On one trip I scooped over thirty samples, and that's a lot of perfume !!

P.S. Your best tip so far ?......look good....wear bigger clothes.

My hack is that if you want an item go to the website and put it in your cart and leave it there a few days. Some retailers will notice that you haven't bought it and email you a discount or free shipping offers. It doesn't always work but when it does it's a score!!
Great tip! I've done that a few times with Uniqlo. They ping me as soon as the items in my cart have gone on sale!

Hi, sometimes when I see something I like on Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, or whatever. I check the designer's website and usually I get a 1st time purchase %$ off plus free shipping over a certain amount, and if designer does not have physical store; sometimes, no taxes applies as well. Then shop always with Ebates or something like it 😊😊😊 saves good money

Hi babe! I have a tip for online shopping, I use this all the time at H&M.
When I shop online, I do this in the evening. If I find what I really must have, but my size isn't availlable, I just check next day early in the morning for it and most of the time it's availlable again.
This way I've bought some of my most favourite items. ♥️
If it's not there the next day, it can be the day after! I just bought my red blazer and pants like this.

check the plus size clothes when shopping. At Target thier plus size brand Ava & Viv has a really cute velvet t-shirt right now.... That fits my small/medium frame with a nice drape...
i so agree about not giving up. i found my MCM Honshu Tantris backpack this way. i had been lusting over that bag for years ~ 3 to 4 years, come to think of it, and i finally found it on eBay from a reputable seller for almost 50% off the original price tag (granted, it was second hand, but it was unused and in excellent condition). i use Honey and/or Ebates for online shopping. Honey finds and applies coupon codes for you automatically, and Ebates for cashback.
