    Do you do anything about food storage? Like how do you go about making sure the bears don’t go snooping around the vehicle?

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Food is stored inside the truck in a fridge or drawers. Generally, I will put the trash inside the vehicle & lock it up at night. BUT, if we're in an area where bears are very likely, we will typically hang our trash from a tree branch a little ways away from camp.
      Have not had an issue (fingers crossed that continues to be the case)

  • @mykalbee
    @mykalbee 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    That was a cool waterfall. Have you been to Hamma Hamma Falls? It's just south of where you were at Murhut Falls. I like taking the ferry, but here on Whidbey, we still have to make a reservation to get on one. The problem is that they reserve up weeks in advance for the summer season. Optimal sailing times can be hard to get, and standby is not ideal. I'd love to explore with you, so if you're interested, let me know. We just got back from Expo PNW, and I'm itching to try out some new gear I got.

    I agree with your position on campsite coordinates. Breadcrumbs will lead real overlanders to your campsites and they will protect them. Freeloaders want everything handed to them on a silver platter, and then with no sweat equity invested there is no ownership, and the campsites get trashed. The channels that really piss me of are the ones that only give coordinates to their Patron subscribers. Really enjoy your videos, the videography and the editing are exceptional.

I live on the Kitsap Penninsula, and have been doing something similar for years using Google Earth. I usually research map data, pick some way points, then recon them on my T7. Nice video, well done. However, I am disappointed that you won't share the location of your camp spots. The best part (for me) of watching these overlanding videos is to decide if I want to go there as well. If I don't know where it is, the magic is gone. I doubt that those ammo shells (and other garbage) would come from your viewers - more likely from locals who didn't need TH-cam to know about the spot. I encourage you to trust your viewers and share info with them. It's not a great attitude to not trust your own supporters. Anyway, I've said my peace. Others may disagree, but...

      @jacobkjelstrup2983 I appreciate your take on this & I can see where you're coming from. I will say, I've had probably a dozen people DM me saying they found the spot via breadcrumbs in the video .... so it's 100% possible!
