On doing fantasy creatures realistically, that's one of the thing that bothers me with the newer gens of Pokémon. The first gen really did try to look like animals while the new ones feel more and more like concepts with no bearing on reality. I appreciate you bringing the animalistic back here.
"Isn't it funny how some things just scream out that it isn't the character that you work with?" That's what I've always felt when looking at fanarts. Some take a totally different art style and yet it still feels like the original character, while others try a faithful approach but take a wrong color for hair or lack a singular detail that makes you say "no, that's not it!". If you're still doing Pokemon sculpts in Medium, how about you try Miraidon, one of the Legendaries of the next games? It could be very cool to sculpt.
Hi, I just purchased your nomad course it looks promising but I was wondering if the skills I learn from that is transferable to blender for when I switch to pc? Sorry I’m new to sculpting. 😥
Hi Shanobix. The basic skills about sculpting would be relevant but if you want specific Blender tutorials there are 100’s of free and paid options that are much more relevant than this course. Nothing you, learn will be wasted but please don’t think this course would prepare you for the beast that is Blender. I am looking at doing a full Blender course but I have to make sure there is enough demand and that I’m good enough to teach it.
@@SouthernGFX thanks for the response and I understand. Ah okay so some techniques should carry on right? I’m looking forward to starting the course after the holidays. I’ll let you know if I can successfully carry the info from nomad to blender from what I’ve learned. 🙏🏼
Yeah, it's currently Free in the Oculus Store but it's an Adobe app now so I'd assume that will go into a bundle at some point. There is Medium and MasterPiece VR for Voxel sculpting with Kodon in an early Beta. For me, Medium is currently the best of the voxel sculpting apps. I have a colab video out very soon that will help you decide.
Not at all after 5 years of heavy use with the Oculus controllers. I do with the Vive and sometimes with some of the pens that are coming to the market.
@@SouthernGFX Appreciate the quick reply, Thank you! One more question, I'm thinking of buying the Oculus Quest 2. I never owned a VR headset before, but will I be able to sculpt laying in bed?
My first Pokemon Sculpt in VR with Adobe Medium and I decided to do it against the clock! 30 minutes to bang out a Charizard. Insanity!!!!
amazing! how did you set up that glowing lighting? and do you have purchesable tutorials for sculpting in medium? thank you for this amazing video!!

Awesome! Is medium free? What's the best sculpting app for VR?

@@SouthernGFX what about substance modeler is this whats adobe plans to replace medium with?
@@SouthernGFX Also what about ShapeLabs VR? I got that due to your previous videos and really liked it, why did that drop off your list?
Do you get tired holding the controllers after awhile?
