- HELLO EVERYONE!!! In this video, I installed PPE Headers onto my 2015 Lexus IS 250. I hope you guys enjoyed!!! I did my best to film but was very limited in space. Do you get any exhaust smells in the car. I got 2007 Lexus is350 and removed the 4 cats. Now I got a strong smell inside. Was thinking probably the muffler shop didn't weld it right. Any suggestions?
You will get a smell from being catless or even being straight piped if u are but do check for an exhaust leak. That’s the first thing I would suggest to do and get the shop to fix the welds if there is a leak. Hope it works!
Do you have a different mid pipe or just header and muffler delete . Do you think without a tune will it have the check engine light ? My friend said he has a thing to pass the o2 sensor or some like that . Thank u , sorry im a newbie
Hey we all start off a newbies no worries! So in this video I actually had a catback setup. So I had the same midpipe as well as axleback which was tsudeo so it had mufflers. Without a tune it will have a check engine light but if you order o2 conditioners you will not have a check engine light and you can get them from RR-Racing themselves. You will have to message them though. Hope that’s helps

You mentioned around 8:00 to change the head gaskets. Is this an essential step? I didn’t receive any from PPE so I might go to Lexus and buy some more

I’m glad you found the video helpful. I only changed mine because might as well change it while it’s off you know. I wouldn’t say it’s necessary though. Oem gaskets usually last for a good amount.
They’re called Exhaust Manifold Gaskets. Head gaskets are below your head in between your block. Has control between coolant, and making sure coolant and oil doesn’t mix lol.

Question I’ve been thinking about the PPE! Do the headers hook up to the stock midpipe and bolt right up?
5K_RE I think they will! Since the headers come with oem style gasket it should bolt right up to the oem midpipe. I can’t promise it but for me I think it will. I don’t see why it wouldn’t! Hope it helps!

Went catless with my 07 250. Great sound but im getting levels of monoxide in the cabin. Are you having this issue? Idk what to do cant find an exhaust leak.
I haven’t noticed any foul smell nor have I tested for it. But it does sound like yo y have an exhaust leak. Have you tried looking around the gasket?

I’m assuming that’s the one u get when u put on these headers. I said it in the video where u need conditioner or like myself a tune. Hope it helps!

U can use oem if u wanted to but my car has high miles so I changed it anyways
What tools did you use to remove the nuts and put them back on after? Asking because I’m gonna be putting them on myself and was just wondering because this is my first header install
I just used a socket wrench. This was my first time too. Just take your time with it and have fun while doing it! It will be tight to get to some spaces but just be patient. Good luck!!

There won’t fit them no. You will have to search a header that fits
Also I’m a little confused on what you did with the steering shaft and why you had to mess with that
You just have to remove it bc it’s under the header so you can’t remove the header unless you remove the steering shaft. You have to mark it that way when you put it back it won’t mess up the steering. Like if you don’t align it right your steering wheel won’t be straight when you go straight
I’m not sure if I asked already but will it pass smog? Haha I’m so tempted to buy headers but don’t want to fail when I need to take it in :/
It may not pass because it is removing the primary cats I heard people got their buddies to pass their smog from them in Cali

I didn’t have any because I have a tune. If you have a o2 conditioner it remove it too

Would I run into any issues if I purchase the headers for my ‘16 IS300 AWD fsport? I currently have the ARK exhaust system installed..
This will be my second mod that’s why I’m asking
If you get the right headers for ur car it shouldn’t but sicne it being awd contact RR and ensure unless they have a AWD option

why didn't you wrap or at least paint the headers with high temp paint?
I was thinking of wrapping it but my friends said not too. Can’t exactly remember why. I was debating on ceramic coating it as well but they said nah too. Forgot exactly why because it’s been awhile tho

I never heard of those headers but I think all headers moved the o2 further but I do not want you to waste your money so u recommend looking for a forum regarding it or asking the company or try to pop your hood and look through. You should be able to see the o2 location on the oem headers. You could message RR and see if they sell the o2 extensions and you may need the o2 conditioner from them anyways to remove the CEL you may get if you aren’t tuned
Is it loud inside the car when you're on the highway?
Everyone has different tolerance. For me I like a bit of drone and it never bothered me.

It shouldn’t be as raspy since you still have your second cats and I’m not too sure I never got it dyno but on the website they quote how much hp you could get for certain modifications

Hey ik it’s a late comment but did u need the O2 sensors that I came with?
never a late comment! I see all and want to help as much as I can! I used my oem o2 sensors but I had to use the o2 conditioner when is like an extension wire that connects to the oem wire to the oem sensor bc the position of the o2 on the new headers is more towards the back

If you are buying headers from them just email them saying you need the conditioner/extensions I believe they are free when you are order them or even comes with them I can’t exactly remember. If you already have them just email them and they will send them to you not sure how much.
Which resonator would u recommend for no rasp?
I’m not sure I remember someone saying it but I have resonators and still have it’s if you want no rasp install high flow cars on your midpipe if they are catless and it will sound deep and good

Is it alot louder? I currently have an Invidia catback with rr tune. The invidia sounds great I hope the headers don't make it sound bad or have engine issues.
It’s definitely louder and since you will be catless it will sound like how I have it in the video but louder and possibly more rasp because invidia exhaust alone are more rasp and louder than the invidia but you can add high flow cats to fix the rasp. Shouldn’t cause any engine issues and since you have the tune u won’t have a CEL

@@danielbudimir8519 nope but I have a similar design one. I had gasket issues which I heard the invidia has and replaced them already so hopefully u mean just that and it’s a simple fix!

Bc I’m tuned I didn’t have any but if you aren’t tuned if you get the O2 conditioner it will clear the check engine

@@davis3736 get an O2 sensor spacer/ Defouler it will remove your check engine and help you pass emissions. Try getting the ones that are 90 degrees those usually work best

@@etet4736 my car was slow already bc I have a 250 lol so I didn’t feel anything fro the headers but the tune made the car feel more alive already. Still slow of course because it’s a 250😂. On a 350 with all of those tune and exhaust and such u should feel a great improvement!

I did not because I have the RR tune. You can request RR to get the o2 conditioner and it will clear the check engine code

FWRL MEDIA no the extension just helps connect the o2 sensor to the oem harness. If you have a code you may need o2 conditioner or there’s a exhaust leak

I just done this yesterday for anyone who wants better info , the right hand side went in smooth for the driver side not so much yes have to take off the steering wheel shaft , but you also have to drop the subframe a bit to fit it in this video he did not say that
I didn’t drop my subframe when I did it. Maybe I got lucky
That odd 🤔 I seen this video alot and another I wounder why mine had to? The pipe was a bit big it fit perfectly once I drop it a bit , I snug it in
@@quele6990 I heard 350 models have a tighter fit mines a 250 if that changes anything. Only time I dropped that subframe cross bar was my midpipe and lower upper bushings 😅

If you don’t have a tune then yes becuase if not it will have a check engine light unless you are fine with that forever. The extensions are just to extend the o2 harness to connect to the new o2 sensor slots. On the header the sensors are lower so the extensions help reach the new slot so you can connect it

@@MarlonSadler yup! Removing the primary cats and even secondary cats will wake the car. It won’t sound super loud until that second cats get removed but it will sound louder than stock

@@Jonathan.Nguyen never knew that. Had headers for my car for 2 years, never installed because I was afraid of not passing inspection with a CEL. I have a rr tune not knowing I could of been installed the headers and pass inspection.
