    0:50 - Threat (Skull dice symbol) - Resolve Nemesis Card Threat.
    3:08 - Defense (Shield dice symbol) - One shield blocks one damage.
    4:30 - Traveling - Enemies in the shadows doesn't travel with you to the next location.
    6:17 - Rolling Enemy Dice - Don't roll enemy (black) dice for exhausted enemies.
    7:28 - Pay constant attention to Quest card ongoing conditions.
    9:48 - Success Tokens - Maximum of 5 amassed and 2 per activation (set use before roll). Enemy (black) dice counts even if the enemy is killed by Player's (white) dice.
    12:14 - Aid Action - You cannot aid yourself.
    13:18 - Travel Phase - various applications.

    Great work! Watching this made me realize I forgot about the "max 2 success tokens" rule on my first playthrough. I found 1 more easily missed rule - you can only engage with a maximum of 3 enemies. If a 4th enemy is forced to engage you, you suffer its damage and place it in the shadows.

    I think, you made a mistake in the travel phase. The rule book says: "When the party travels(...) 2. The party leader may pass the party leader token to a different hero."
    If you don't travel to the next location in the travel phase, you aren't allowed to pass the token.

      I was going to add this too. I think this is correct. You can only change the party leader if you actually change the location card.

    I’m just learning about this game in 2022. Looks great; shame the manufacturer is not going to support it, ie expansions.
    Great video. I’ll probably buy it.

    One of the things we totally forgot in a 3rd player game was to have one more hero activate.
    The game itself does not have complex rules nor many, but it is so strange how it's easy to miss a fair amount of them.

      Kagesh - Currently the only thing I have to film is my iPhone. It's not ideal. Decent quality video, but the sound isn't great. If the channel continues to grow and I keep enjoying it, then I'll definitely be upgrading my camera and microphone situation. But thanks for the feedback!

      Of course! Unfortunately I have to travel now for the next week for work, but I'm bringing it with. If I can find a good place with decent lighting, I'll do another playthrough for sure. Otherwise, I'll do one when I return next week.

    What about the enemies engaged with the heroes when the party travel to a new location? Do they stay engaged?

    • @PrattskiTheTabletopGamer
      @PrattskiTheTabletopGamer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      T Man - Yes, they stay engaged. Only enemies in the shadows are discarded.

    • @GastonJamin

      I was wondering the same thing; it seems a bit odd storywise. In the midst of an attack you suddenly decide to travel and the enemy just accepts and even rides along to the new location where you pick up where you left off? 😂

    Thanks for doing this video. Very helpful and I look forward to future playthroughs of this wonderful game. I had a question concerning the success tokens. You (and the rules) mention that only 2 success tokens can be used per activation. If a hero has a special ability that uses a success token, does that count towards the maximum of 2 limit? For example say a character has an ability that allows them to use success tokens AFTER they roll the dice. If I chose BEFORE rolling the dice to use 2 success tokens would I be able to use a 3rd to activate my special ability as well?

    • @JM-db8ez
      @JM-db8ez 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not 100% certain, but I think you can commit 2 success tokens to the roll, but if you need to use success tokens to activate an ability then you can also spend a success token for that ability since the success token is not being counted as a "success" for the roll itself. If that makes sense. You would just need to have more success tokens in your hero's pool to do so. If you committed 2 to the roll and didn't have any extras, then you wouldn't have any to spend for the ability. I think that's right but again, I'm not 100% certain.

    what happens when the location card says to spawn 4 enemies to become engaged with you?

    • @PrattskiTheTabletopGamer
      @PrattskiTheTabletopGamer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi popifun! Is there a location card that says that!? If so, I have not yet encountered it. BUT - if there is one that specifies that 4 enemies become engaged with a specific hero, or the party leader, or whatever it is, then you'd have to spawn 4 enemies in a row to be engaged with that hero. At any point, once they have 3 enemies engaged with them, for each additional enemy that would be spawned to be engaged with them, they will take damage equal to the attack value of each spawned enemy, and those enemies would then end up face up in the shadows.
      The rulebook states this in a couple different places, but one of them is on page 14 under "Engagement" where it says, "A hero may never have more than 3 enemies engaged with them at one time. When a fourth enemy engages a hero, it inflicts its damage on the hero then retreats to the shadows."

    You say there is no way of cancelling a threat enemy die roll. This is not entirely correct as I think as there is one hero (don't know the name by heart) that can cancel the effect of one enemy die discarding a success token.

    • @PrattskiTheTabletopGamer
      @PrattskiTheTabletopGamer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool - if that's the case, that's awesome. I was more referring to the dice specifically, but, appreciate you pointing this out!

      In that case, the Party Leader chooses the outcome. This can be found on page 12 of the rulebook under "Party Leader": "When resolving game effects during those phases, if there are multiple equally valid outcomes, the party leader chooses the outcome."

      Hi Minkop. Nothing specific happens other than you don't have to be attacked, or make any attack actions. You keep going through the steps of each round though. You can still use your other actions. Eventually you'll travel to a new location and more monsters will spawn.
