I was undecided about getting this game. Thanks for getting me off the fence with this excellent and detailed playthrough. I feel like I don’t even have to read the rules when I get it.
Hey Colin, I find your playthroughs highly entertaining, and been looking forward to seeing how this game in particular plays. Please do another scenario!
Now I wish I had the Splig miniature from Descent Lieutenants (like everyone else). Having him sitting there would add a third dimension that I like so much.
This game looks great, happy I've got it on preorder.... Thanks for the playthrough Colin, would love to see another game of this where the other 2 classes get a runout....
Hi Colin, I know you've moved on from this game play but I noticed a minor mistake when spawning in the shadows: Unless otherwise specified, spawned enemies are always placed face up - 17:40 you had them face down. Cheers :-)
Please do another! I I do have to agree about it seeming to be easier than the original, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but one other thing is that with success tokens no longer being tied to that action only, that makes a huge difference
Oh yeah, another one, definitely! I think this scenario looks easier than the introdutory one from WHQCG (even though it's basically the same scenario). Anyways, great playthrough! Thanks!
magic. totally enjoyed this Colin. Got it on preorder now and would like to see another. In the meantime i'll be cracking out WACG for a bash the noo! cheers for playthrough ma man!
Though the game is on my wishlist, I'll look forward to it a lot more once they have a campaign set up! (I sure hope they make one! That's one of the best things about Descent!)
I think that the abilities on the heroes make this game a little bit different, sort of more balanced than warhammer. I'm sure that when I got my copy I'll try combining the heroes from "Heroes of terrinoth" and the quests for warhammer quest to see if they work fine. These has been great! Complete the campains please!! Thank you so much for the video
Great Playthrough. I am going to be getting mine played tonight but as a 4 player game and I hope to get a few of the quests done. I would love to see another quests done by you however I would prefer one that is "Formidable" as I agree this game looks easier than the Warhammer version. Keep up the great work.
I am starting one tonight that is Challenging I think. Middle level and I think it will be difficult enough! Let's see how we do! Appreciate you watching!
@@OneStopCoopShop I played that same quest as a 4 player game last night and we walked through it pretty easy. However it was nice for teaching the game to the other 3 that did not know how to play. We then played a medium level quest, the one that does not change location, and got our butts handed to us the 1st 2 plays. The 3rd play we destroyed the quest but we did an all out attack as much as possible. We also found that it was critical to as quick as possible explore the location and keep it explored every round. The one thing that so far I can take from this game is NEVER let the monsters get out of control and built up in the shadows. If that happens you are going to have a really hard time winning and most likely you will lose. Looking forward to your next play through of this game. Now to BGG to post questions about OR effects on cards and how they really should be played. For example if the Nemesis Threat says "Either suffer 1 wound OR this enemy recovers 1 wound", if the enemy has no wounds are you forced to take a wound? According to the 2 English majors that I game wish say that the way that it is written if the Nemesis has no wounds then nothing happens. However if this is the case never wound the Nemesis and the threat dies never matters.
NICE!! Great to hear you had fun with 4! I usually play those "or" effects as if you can't do one, then you have to do the other. Pretty sure that is right but you can confirm on BGG!
@@OneStopCoopShop Someone pointed out the location in the rules that I did not see. If you cannot do one step you have to do the other. So we cheated a little on that quest however we figure that only about 8-9 points of damage would have been dealt that we missed and that would not have stopped us from winning.
:D awesome play-through i finally get the rules hehe, it changed the game totally to the better :D... if you want to do another one, perhaps do a random non-campaign version ;), or think about how you may be able to build a campaign for your friends :)
Yes please would love to see another scenario that it will be more difficult and lady luck smiling less at you, 3 burst on the nemesis ? Come on !! Hehehe
Neatly played and commented, Colin! I think the main reasons you feel more powerful are: - That extra reroll you get on each action (which is GREAT) - The success tokens pool being common allowed you to pile up and constantly dish out +2. - You rolled like a magician!! Is that dice tower legal stuff? :-)
LotR LCG is my favourite game and Space Hulk: Death Angel is my favorite non-LCG cooperative game. This and WQ:ACG seem like a blend of the two and I've ordered them both (with the intention of trying out Warhammer Quest first). They seem great, but to be honest I don't think they will beat Death Angel - that game is just TENSE, deadly and has a great spatial element. Did you heep Terrinoth and Warhammer in your collection? Or did you sell them in the end due to no new content?
Great choice! I sold Terrinoth but kept Warhammer as I liked the system slightly better in Warhammer. I wish these games had been supported but there is a ton of fan made content which is really cool! Have fun!
@@OneStopCoopShop than you for your answer :). I'll still try both Warhammer and Terrinoth to feel the differences for myself ;). Hopefully both games will turn out to be replayable, even with just the "core" set ;).
Hey Colin are the tokens you're using to mark a card exhausted also from Draculas' Tokens? Lastly how many of each token would you recommend purchasing? Thanks.
The exhaust tokens are from FFG, you can get them anywhere. As for the amount of tokens. . . I would get at least 10 of the success tokens, but you probably want more if playing with more than 2. And then 15 of each damage and progress so you can get some of the numbered ones as well to be able to cover your base. Just my guess!
Another great playthrough! With the upgrading of cards throughout the scenario, I'm assuming there's no campaign? Each scenario starts at scratch but just continues down the narrative perhaps? Thanks! I personally wouldn't watch another scenario as I wouldn't want any more of this great looking game spoiled.
No campaign correct. I get you on watching more too, not sure on the narrative yet, I don't think it is linked. Regardless, enjoy our plays my friend!!
Hi Colin, I would love to see another scenario. The first scenario have not yet won me over. I can't remember if you mention it in one of your videos, but does your characters get better between scenarios with improved cards? The game seems a little simple with too few interesting choices, but I would love to be proven wrong by another scenario, cause I like the idea of the game :)
Great question! First I have the first part of a Challenging quest recorded, just need to edit. Second all scenarios are standalone. I think you will see more interesting choices next game, remember this is the intro scenario. But it is still lighter than a game like LOTR!
I heard a criticism game being the lack of weapon or armor cards to customize. Do you feel with the item cards and ability improvements your characters improve and are customized enough?
For the length of the game I do. If they had this as a campaign I think they would need to include weapons etc. and I am hoping they do. But as it stands each scenario is a one off so the leveling up during the game is sufficient for me!
Thanks for another great game playthrough. I've really enjoyed previous ones, some of which were extra fun because I love the game (7th Continent, Near and Far: Amber Mines, Arkham Horror:TCG) or ended up buying it because of you (Aventuria, Discover, Deep Madness, Black Sonata, Unbroken). Heroes of Terrinoth, however and regretfully, seems neither. It basically looks like Descent - minimal story and maximum battles. Don't get me wrong: I love Descent and since I started last year, bought almost everything for it. But then, why would get Heroes of Terrinoth if its essentially the same thing (without minis, dungeon tiles etc.)? This may be the one FFG game that I'll pass on...
TOTALLY get it! I just like how easy it is to just get this to the table. Quick setup and fun and I can play with non gamers as well as the choices are limited. Thanks for watching regardless!
Great tokens, great mat, great game ;) Would you consider HoT to be one of your best solo experiences so far? (aside LotR LCG of course, which is the best!)
I'd very much like to see one more. Am I understanding correctly that when you do another quest, your characters just reset to their starting condition? Like, nothing travels with you from scenario to scenario, correct?
Could you please show a slightly larger area so that we can see the enemies that are engaged with the heroes, otherwise we have to remember what the board state looks like.
Intro scenario :) I am assuming the scenarios will be more challenging as you pick harder ones. That is why I plan to do another playthrough of a harder one!
Ah yes you will only see that on a video that has it. check the video and if you see a "CC" by it, then it means there are subtitles and you can turn on the Klingon subtitles! Hope that helps!
@@OneStopCoopShop Yup. There is no option when I click on CC or the gear to select klingon subtitles. I verified with a previous video that I have the ability to select them and I do.
