    Great review,
One thing I’ve noticed is that when cameras come out people always seem to say that it’s not as good as the last model. Of course with this one you just couldn’t get one!
If you forget all the hype you’ve got to look at what a model brings to the table, this one brings a lot. It may not be perfect no camera is.
I have one and coming from the x100t it’s got a lot going for it. I was lucky, I put in a pre order two days after it was announced and had it in three weeks. I waited with the last model and missed the chance of getting one.
I’ve now reduced the amount of cameras I have the other being the XH2. They both have their place and I use the best one for the job.
The most important thing is it makes me smile and want to use it.

Nice, and very useful, review. I am waiting for my own pre-ordered X100VI and getting more and more keen to get my hands on it and to start getting out and about. Thanks as always for a great presentation Damian.

You can make youre movie switch your self. Assign the little fn1-button (on top next to the shutter button) to start/stop video!

    Good overview and pics.
The new firmware addresses a few of the focus issues, having said that I have taken nearly 2000 shots now including major travel and a wedding. Maybe 1 in 100 was focusing on the wrong face etc but think this is now sorted and the errors were things like me accidentally touching the screen not the sensor.
I used the IBIS and ND to get some lovely waterfall shots in China recently. Outstanding features, as is leaf shutter flash sync.
One or two comments re 40mp and APSC sensor capabilities. Do not agree based on my outputs and very high quality 5k colour graded monitor.
This camera is about going out and about. If you want perfection then a Canon R5 mk 2 and a 50mm L1.2 is as good as it gets, but wait that’s 4 times the price and 3 times the weight😮
As Ken Rockwell’s decades of analysis says…Fuji for people, Canon for optics, Sony for focus speed but not for top end optics.
Yes a Leica Q3 is superb too but 3.5 times the price and much larger and heavier. Perhaps when I retire next year….

Like my XT50, I sold this camera after waiting so many months for it. Glad I never sold my X100V. I just like this sensor better.

XT50 might be the option for travel. I have the X100V, it hasn't dropped too much in price on the used market, and I'm seriously tempted to sell it and put the proceeds towards the XT50.

Just took the T50 on a whirlwind tour, still getting the samples together after 6 different countries with it. I really really like it!

I think all the reviews I've seen of this camera have bought into the hype and waxed lyrical about how amazing it is. So it's nice to see a more honest, down to earth review which points out some of its flaws as well. My OG X100 got me into the Fuji system and I still use it from time to time but I'm not sure the latest version is for me. A bit too clever for something that most people will want to use only to capture moments.

Always trying to keep it as realistic as possible Kevin, thanks a lot!

The world seems to have gone really crazy over this camera, excellent though it clearly is.
I'm content with the Fujifilm 27 2.8 on my XT2.

Great combo Robert. There's something important about being content with "older" gear!

I love the lens cap but I don’t use it much since I have a square hood and clear filter on. Grab and take a quick shot.

I had one sold it; the reason is that 40 mp is way too much for apsc. They are using built-in software to cover up corrections with the Jeps. The raw files do have a fake look. It's a pity because it used to be an excellent line for fuji

After being an x100 owner since the S, I sold my X100v just a few days ago for about $400 more than I bought it new.
Didn't suit my needs anymore. And might be slowly moving away from Fuji altogether.

Not much a difference from the x100V - just the ibis really.

And the ND and 40mp and 6k…….hence it’s more expensive….

Hey Marco, the sensor is a big deal for some too in fairness.
