      My problem is whenever I look for freight broker jobs through indeed a lot of Job openings want you to already have a book of business. So how can I get hired as a beginner without a bill of business?

    This is very true for freight coordinators, dispatchers, agents, and the like. I would not recommend opening your own brokerage (becoming a freight broker) without having some experience. In my experience (30+ years including opening brokerages), hiring folks with little or no experience in freight tend to be easier to train and don't have to unlearn bad behaviors or biases. Nate, you guys give a lot of good advice!

    I've been seeing alot of upset truckers saying their brokers are crooks, or are stealing from them, or low balling them in their money. Is it possible for a beginner broker to both honest, respected, and profitable?

    • @Freight360

      Absolutely! In every industry there are ethical and unethical operators. Doesn’t matter whether you’re a shipper, broker or trucking company.

      This is absolutely true, but husband is a truck driver in cali and it happens to him often. It's super sad because they work so hard and on the road risking their lives and brokers don't give a shit they just want their money.

    Can a broker be successful with local O.O ?

    • @Freight360
      @Freight360  ปีที่แล้ว

      Assuming you mean a broker that relies on owner ops that run locally, it is possible but not recommended. If you’re only working with shorter hauls there’s not really much margin to cover a brokerage’s over head. As a broker you want higher mileage lanes bc your % is worth more.

    #1 Rule in starting any starting any Company especially a Broker, at least have a few clients so you have a base to build on. You need income to keep any company a float. Getting an experience from a true brokerage would give you the base not the many " Brokerage Training" programs like these. Hold your money, research and generate a business plan. This is a cost plus business. If you have no experience, not a good idea just to open and take a training class. For example, just because you tasted some good Greek food, doesn't mean you open a Greek Restaurant. Be careful, there are 1000's of "Broker Training to make you Millions" all over and especially the 'I can Mentor' you programs.Take your time...
