  • Mary Kay “Katie” Wohlfarth, an antique dealer, was found beaten to death in her self-storage unit in Akron, Ohio after her family reported her missing. Investigators began collecting evidence after finding Katie's body, including security footage showing a man entering her storage unit. The 68-year-old's car was also stolen. Police identified the man as Michael Olson, an acquaintance of Wohlfarth. When detectives brought Olson into an interrogation room, he began lying over and over again until he was confronted with hard evidence. Find out what happened next on this episode of Law&Crime Interrogations.

    Something that really gets under my skin is them saying we gotta WAIT 24 hours before we can report some as missing. And we ALL KNOW the first 24 is the MOST IMPORTANT hours in getting the ones we love home , ALIVE!.!.!.

      For those of us raised to trust the police, defer to their authority and expertise- it’s so painful to learn the hard way how often some only serve and protect Themselves. .. Seeing the first officer LYING to a worried elderly man instead of DOING HIS JOB turns my stomach and breaks my heart.. what a disgrace.

      What do you want them to do? Walk into the ladys home with no permission because an adult isnt found in less than 24 hours. Then you guys would be bitching omg they cant just walk into our home, you know how many false reports they would have to check up on just because sometimes people dont talk to each other @icu3869

      Sure you can say whatever you want, but gown adults have rights. I have the right to go or talk to whoever I want. If the only evidence is someone didn''t come home last night or won;'t answer a call doesn't mean they are a "missing person". It like a disgruntled gf can't call the cops to report her ex "missing" just to cause him problems.

    • @mrfuzz241
      @mrfuzz241 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@drn13355 do you even know what you’re talking about? That’s not what “having rights” means at all lol it will start off as a welfare check, once they didn’t find her it would then turn into a missing person.
      It happens daily not because people go missing daily but because people need wellfare checks daily. Rather it be someone checking on their grandparents or friends who are addicted to drugs, wellfare checks aren’t uncommon at all.
      Also in the case in which it is an ex or spouse at all, we don’t disclose any information. But to just refuse to do a check or missing person report is irresponsible if not negligible and I wouldn’t be surprised if the officer was reprimanded for this.

      As a former dispatcher please disclose the amount of missing calls to the amount of people actually missing. If cops chased down folks every time someone called someone missing do u know how many cops we would need and how much our taxes would go up??? This was a tragedy. So many of these stories I watch have completely apathetic or just plain lazy police who have zero interest in trying to help anyone. (And before anyone takes that out of context, not saying all police are like that, rather that these cases have an abundance of examples of lazy/disinterested/worthless examples that shame the good ones). If it is completely out of character for her, especially as an elderly lady, then surely it’s worth looking into! And if they find her and she says “hey, I’m fine, I don’t want to talk to that guy” then they can also let him know that. And the storage person took 3 visits of her friend before they looked at the security footage? Is it really too much to look the first time? I mean I am glad they finally checked it out but imagine if they’d looked the first time. That could be the difference between someone being saved and dying because they were tied up or bleeding for days, etc! WTF is wrong with people?

    Just the fact that the cop is asking for patience when they didn't even want to bother with something as simple as a missing person report in the first place is just deplorable. It doesn't hurt or hinder anyone to make a report and at most gives the cops a way to earn their paycheck and something productive to do. It's not like they were severely understaffed or didn't have the resources.

That poor dude not only shook hands with him straight after he was getting ball cheese off his nuts, he got ROASTED in the comments afterward...that wasn't shown here thank God lol.
