@Louis H fwd stands for front wheel drive, rwd stands for rear wheel drive, and awd is all wheel drive. it refers the wheels that receive the power from the engine and transmission. so in rwd all the power goes to the rear wheels. the reason why its such a stupid question is because most sports cars are traditionally rwd. and the mustang has been and always will be rwd. anyone who asks a question like that are generally not very aware of the technical aspects of cars. to car guys its kind of a stupid question to ask.
Indeed. He was surprised that a 700+ hp car wasn't FWD? Good lord, imagine if it actually was FWD! But on the bright side: at least the understeer would only last for a second before the front tires disintegrated and you smacked into a tree.
Joe, I would love to be a guest on your show and talk about First Generation (1962-1972) American Muscle Cars. I am an authority on these types of cars, collect them, organize and promote gatherings of some of the finest examples in the U.S., and am an editor for a major automotive publication. That being said, it was a nice video, and I enjoyed it very much
Should hit him on his business email my guy, TH-cam comments just aren't super effective for getting a hold ah big names yk I doubt he even runs the JRE TH-cam (or I guess Spotify these days) account
I'm British and love cars. I have to say when I think of American muscle cars I think Selby cobra 427 blue with 2 white stripes. I love the Dodge charger and the first generation corvette stingray. Absolutely beautiful. I have only ever heard a Shelby cobra and it sounded so sweet as it passed me,I'm assuming it was real and not a kit car.
I appreciate your taste in American muscle cars, but your country deserves some credit too, because the Shelby Cobra was originally a British design, Carroll Shelby just happened to perfect it in America.
The original Eleanor (from The 1974 original movie) was towed around California for display. I saw it when I was a kid in 74 at the Micky D's in Millbrae California. It was on an open trailer and had a full cage .
And to think now joe has half of these cars they were talking about as modernized restomods now.he has the sweetest 69 camaro you'll ever see powered by a lsa and 6 speed standard.and he also just got done with probably the sweetest chevelle I've ever seen powered by an ls9 I believe.joe has the best taste in cars I've ever seen a celebrity have lol
They need to pay homage to the old charger being a muscle car back than and make a special edition 2 door, with the modern challenger tail lights since technically it stole the old chargers tail light.
My dad walking into a Chevy dealer in 1969...sir do you want the 305/327/350/396/427 or 454? No joke I walked into Chevy dealer recently looking at newer Camaro's, the first thing the salesperson did was pop the trunk. Look at the room you have in there....I just left
1969 Mustang BOSS 429, Enough said. The best, most impractical, extremely dangerous, built-only-so-Ford-could-put-the-engine-in-NASCAR, muscle car ever produced. Bar none.
I had my dream car and like an idiot I sold it. 1970 chevelle ss 396 4 speed. 375 hp. Loved it. Did everything but motor n transmission with my dad. I will miss that car.
Had a 1972 Pontiac Le Mans Sedan, had redone the interior and painted it Pearlescent Royal Blue. And put Oldsmobile Cutless rims. I loved that car. Wish I still had it.
2015 got rid of the solid rear axle for all Mustang models. Certain older style Mustangs had an independent rear suspension. Some of the older Cobras I believe.
Did he say ‘front wheel drive’ when commenting on a 700hp gt500? I guess it should have been anticipated after he called a fender a ‘bubble thing over the tires
U can like them, but if ur gonna talk about them like u know shit about them, and u ask that question, ur gonna be laughed at. Loudly. Ur about as much of a car guy as a rich bitch is of a diamond girl. U just like shiny shit.
I may be weard, but I have always wanted a 1960's chevy truck with a flatbed and 4x4. I would restore it and have it be my utility truck. I'd keep the old paint, just clear coat it, and then completely restore the inside. New engine, new suspension, new interior, AC, navigation, etc. but the outside looks like an hold flatbed pickup.
1969 dodge charger r/t is the pinnacle of muscle cars, its the meanest, biggest, fattest car and pretty fast with a 426hemi producing 450 to 500hp out of the factory. you get it triple black / all black red crimson interiors and you get yourself the meanest bad to the bone coffin.
The name Eleanor came from the original gone in 60 seconds movie because the car thief used to name all of his cars code net code names so that way when the car thief detectives showed up they wouldn't know and when it was talked about on the radio the cops would not know.
The first company to make the Eleanor cars what's called Unique Performance out of Texas. They were given brand-new VIN numbers by Ford, before they were sold and it was a legit operation. Unfortunately, the owner got put away for title washing and so his company went defunct, but this might be a case where government overreached for they shouldn't have.
I don’t understand. Why is everyone hating on these guys for talking about cars? Whether they’re knowledgeable on cars or not, they clearly like cars. Let them talk, let them learn and maybe one day they’ll know as much as you guys. Since everyone in the TH-cam comments knows everything, right?
The original Eleanor wasn't a GT500, the original Gone in 60 seconds from 1974 was a yellow 1971 fastback. You need to check out "helleanor", that fucking thing is bad ass!!
Every time it takes more than 3 seconds for Jamie to "pull that up" Joe gets inpatient and weird. I woudn't mind waiting even 10 seconds cause it usually takes me more than that to type shit. I can't wait untill I will be able to download my own copy of Jamie - the best internet browser.
The Smokey and the bandit trans am is a great looking car, but to do it today we'd have to have the big inch version the modern version of the snowflake wheels !!!
Nothing sweeter than my bad ass red challenger the body style is so retro and banging! 💕💕love my ride! Exception would be the hellcat a hemi all souped up... But i would crash some more, i have a sweet corvette too, but my husband' wont let me drive it anymore after i crashed it on my 23rd birthday drunk as shit .. The back tires tread was low, lost control of the beast taking a corner at around 35mph . i have great stories, i should write a book .
Sarah Redwood yeah I was fine, even with no seat belts in the car.. did a 360 in the rain, coming up the mountain I live on. hit the guardrail in the opposite side of the road, messed up the passenger fender and headlight area. thanks for the concern.
In the original Gone in 60 Seconds, Eleanor was a code name for one of 50 Cars to be Stolen for the Columbian Mob , they were kept in a Warehouse in Longbeach till they were picked up...
It was called Eleanor in the orignal in 1974 which was yellow and it was a 1973 and in the remake they named the cars they stole they called them female names the shelby was Eleanor
I'm all for the green movement and no pollution...but I fucking love muscle cars. It's like being healthy and eating organic but you smoke cigarettes lol.. If I could get ANY muscle car, I'd pick a 64 Nova or a 70 Chevelle SS. Both of those would make anyone cream their pants lol.
Oh man.. that was like listening to my mom trying to convince my friends that she's "down" with the same music they are. Certsinly no respect lost for Rogan, he's awesome and I'd never dis someone just cuz their expertise is in other fields.. but as a car guy, that was seriously cringeworthy.
Bullett.....!!! However, Detroit has been using wind tunnels since the 1930's. By Dad used to take me and my brother at the one at GM on Sunday and just yell...."Hold On...!!!".
When he asked if the GT500 was front wheel drive I would have busted out laughing 😂 idk how joe didn’t
6:49 The guest asks if the gt500 was fwd... Is that normal to ask something like that?
@Louis H fwd stands for front wheel drive, rwd stands for rear wheel drive, and awd is all wheel drive. it refers the wheels that receive the power from the engine and transmission. so in rwd all the power goes to the rear wheels. the reason why its such a stupid question is because most sports cars are traditionally rwd. and the mustang has been and always will be rwd. anyone who asks a question like that are generally not very aware of the technical aspects of cars. to car guys its kind of a stupid question to ask.
I would’ve taken points off but you’d be surprised at the amount of classic fwd Cadillacs (Oldsmobile toronado too)
You know you're listening to a real car enthusiast when you hear him say "those bubble tire covers" instead of "fender".
PikeyScott 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And he asked if newer Mustang is FWD smh
Yeah he knows nada lmao
Indeed. He was surprised that a 700+ hp car wasn't FWD? Good lord, imagine if it actually was FWD! But on the bright side: at least the understeer would only last for a second before the front tires disintegrated and you smacked into a tree.

1950s pickups were one of the best front wheel drives out there at the time.

I love watching him talk about my truest passion. Saleen is located only a few miles from me, and I was able to get a tour of the whole place once.
New Yorkers cant talk cars! Toney was a fish out of water.

For the selling year 1950, the number of trucks made by Chevy was 494,573. Prices started at $1400.00. Chevy trucks were the #1 selling truck in 1950.

69' Dodge Charger R/T. The ultimate bad guy car.
For me, it's either a 70's Buick GSX, a 1970 Dodge Challenger, or a hemi 'Cuda.

Bullcrap, that's the Duke Boys car son. The Ultimate Hero guy car son!

Eleanor was originally an early 70's black and yellow mustang Mach 1 from the original Gone In 60 Seconds, made by Toby Halicki.
Homie looks like the dude from Pixar’s soul
My dad had an early 1970's Impala that was Burgandy. He didn't have it long though, so I don't have too many memories of it.
Joe is a good dude , that knows very little about mustangs.
the 69 Charger R/T is the the most beautiful/badass car ever made
The '59 Corvette is the best looking car ever, FACT

WhiteDwarfVR4 So how do you not love the 70 then
Joe should do a show where they fix up peoples muscle cars and fulfill dreams.
From this i learned that I should never, ever watch another Joe Rogan video about cars. It's just painful.
