  • Cherry harvest continues this week in the mountains of Portugal now our late season trees are ready. Will these trees be better than the last? With summer round the corner we continue to clear our land and plant more food to grow for later this year.
    Enjoy!

What a busy and productive week. Loved seeing the veggie and melon planting, cherry harvesting and very impressed with the sawbuck. Great video. Pauline

Lots of good projects on the video this week-vegetables garden plots, cutting down the broom, cherry harvest, etc. Every time I see some strimming I wonder how people managed before the invention of strimmers. 👍🏻

If the branch breaks remember to go back and make clean cut on the tree so it mends better. I saw one fellow on TH-cam show how to prune correctly. If I can find it I’ll try and add it on here. The video is called, “Your(probably) killing your fruit trees” on Anne of All Trades TH-cam channel.
Also, I’ve heard if you grow comfrey under the trees that it helps feed the trees nutrients. You can also make things like comfrey tea to fertilize you garden.

Podiam experimentar plantar na rerra diretamente. Não precisavam de papelão nem terra. Talvez estume ou adubo apenas

Bom dia! O método que usamos, "no dig beds", ajuda a combater as ervas daninhas e fertiliza o solo novamente!

I like your posts and also use them to learn English better.😆The problem with boxes is the toxins in the box. Since these have been recycled over and over again, they accumulate heavy metals and other toxins that you don't necessarily want in your food. I can only warn you about this... Love Jo from Germany

It’s funny nobody thinks of this. We just know we are recycling once again into the soil. But then again most soil has heavy metals and other unknown things in it. Without a soil test you really don’t know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Glad to hear you are enjoying the videos and helping with your English 😊 I did a little research on the cardboard thing and apparently the reason the no dig method is popular is yes, there can be small traces of other materials in the card. However, apparently because it’s such a small amount that people prefer it over using pesticides, weed killer ect. If you use card that has gloss or lots of ink that is when it’s bad apparently, but plain card can actually add nutrients to the soil as well as it breaks down. From what I understand it’s one of those things where the benefits weigh out the negatives. But this is just research from the internet so I could be wrong snd honestly I wouldn’t have learned about this with out your comment leading me to look into it so thank you 😊

@@TheSunnySaudadeProject Here is a study, unfortunately only in German, but very frightening, even with cardboard that is approved for food. Simply have it translated online. Kind regards, Jo mobil.bfr.bund.de/cm/343/fragen-und- Answeren-zu-mineraloelteile-in-lebensmittel.pdf
