I feel like the vanilla ost fits the stages better but these are spectacular as well. I love both of these osts and am so glad Mega Man is really back.
I've been replaying the game almost exclusivly with these tracks on, I think it's WAY better than the base OST, and I wouldn't mind some official 8 bit renditions.

I think the only lackluster one really is Impact Man's theme. I remember in the 90s not really liking MM4, 5, and 6s music. Now I can't imagine not liking them. Bounce Man's is fun and playful. Torch Man's is spooky and playful. Fuse Man's is thick with a scary sorta rainy atmosphere to it. I didn't like them much at first either, but now I LOVE Tundra Man, Torch Man, Fuse Man and Acid Mans' themes. Give it a little time. They aren't extremely catchy, but some of them are very good compositions, so I have to disagree with you there.
See then I bet you all love Hard Man and Stone Mans' themes then too. I like them but I don't love them. They're kind of just there for me... and so is Impact Mans'. They're all three good, but not out of this world fantastic or whatever.
These have more heart and are just better for the series as a whole than the 'originals' imo. I've been playing since MM2 in the 90s. These have a lot more heart to them and *rock* more than the techno versions. I like a couple of the originals, but these versions are way better. The stand-out themes to me are Tundra, Torch, Fuse, and Acid Mans'. All the others are still pretty great, but suffer heavily in their techno versions, feeling more cold and bland. These may not be extremely catchy like Flash Mans' or Sheep Mans', but there are definitely good compositions in MM11. Another note: Replay with the arrangements, but mix the music WAY louder. It was too quiet/took a back seat in this game for some reason... Which is a sin as music and melody is a *huge* part of the Mega Man franchise.
Makes me so sad that they went for something different, in my opinion this is WAY better than the normal ost. I only prefer tundra man's theme in original over instrumental. This just has more depth and weight.
Werti The original ost dose have a Star Force vibe to it which made it sound interstellar and was too heavy on the techno the instrumental music seems to somewhat capture the original series' charm.
Three points after watching this: 1. I get insaneintherain vibes from these tracks. 2. Torch Man's theme now makes it sound like I'm on a pirate ship, which is an interesting twist. 3. Can I get Mega Man 11 music in Smash please?
As much as I LOVE piano and anything orchestral, I'm gonna have to side with the original tracks. As arrangements, these are phenomenal, but its not something I'd play the game to. It's hard to explain.
Because it sounds like background music cept maybe Torch Mans' and Bounce Mans'. In Mega Man, music has always taken center stage between colorful visuals and tight gameplay. In this game the music is mixed very low, even for the originals. I play on PC, so I ALWAYS switch to the arrangements than mix the music far above sounds.
The music isnt bad.... but its way below previous entries I just dont feel like the music fit. That said the powerplant stage music is great in either version
Only 1 Wily Stage theme. Nearly every other classic Mega Man soundtrack has them beat on that alone (MM5 and 6 had two final castle stage themes, one for each castle, though at least that's still 1 more track to listen to)). Also, the techno can get a bit too generic and thus not as memorable for some of the tracks.
It's pretty hard for me to say which version of the OST I like most. Some of these instrumentals are simply beautiful (I'm looking at you Fuse) but at the same time I love the bravado and drive that the electronic versions have
It's really cool how this OST also changes the pacing for a lot of the tracks. The tempo in a lot of cases feels like it went straight from MM2 to MM3.
I was going to get megaman 11 on ps4 but missed the pre order date to get the tracks so I got it on the switch instead.. I have ocd and need everything to have a 100% experience.. I miss the old gaming days ..

The choice of instruments with chiptune and synth are too same-y and by the books. Although the latter _did_ have vocals in some tracks, it didn’t stop the abundance of techno from taking over.

I love piano. I think there's a lot of good piano renditions of lively songs out there. The magic about those songs is that they keep the livelihood of the original. These are boring. I gave them a shot when I got the full game and immediately switched back because these don't sound like music to play an action platformer to, they sound like music to browse the gallery to. Further proof that people who dislike this game's soundtrack are plebeians.
