3 fragile and illegal LEGO builds

- These builds are the mega-sized, and somehow much more fragile sibling builds of a simple design in a previous video: • A small but VERY illeg...
Illegal building techniques come in many varieties, and some of them can actually make your builds much stronger (due to the stress they contain). These incomplete connections do the opposite. There’s very little stress on the builds at all-too little in fact-so fragility is the name of the game. The 1x3 plate version of this design is actually quite sturdy. It’s the weight of these larger builds pulling on those incomplete connections that make these designs so challenging.
Beyond just the fragility, this video turned out to be surprisingly difficult. Between being out of practice, filming with a new camera, and a couple of airplane flyovers I didn’t notice during filming, it made for an unusually frustrating experience. I thought it only fitting to share many of those failures with you--the culminating fail being the building of the interlocking rings, which turned out to be impossible with the light and camera rigging in the way. So I had to work a little off screen magic off. But the final result cracked me up, so I think it was worth it. : )

Thanks!
@user-eo6wh1ky3o thank you! That is very kind 🙌
I love the whole ''Observe the cool creation I have made for you .... here's twenty more I made earlier''. XD
Ikr it’s just like “you saw that now do it fifteen more times”
"Double it and connect it
There also the "oops" moments like when he tries to stand them up and it just falls apart
It's like the real life version of copy-pasting
I really appreciate you sharing some of the 'failures' while filming. Life isn't always about getting the rings to interlock perfectly the first time. I genuinely laughed when it first broke (in a spectacular fashion!), because it seems so out of character.
There's a delight in the clean completion of success, but there's also a different kind of joy in the failures. I'm definitely learning to embrace both. 🙂
@@BrickBendingI love both. On one hand, very satisfying. On the other, can't stop laughing as I roll my eyes and sigh 😂
fairly certain this guy is where the missing legos from billions of lego sets owned by children around the world end up
Fancy seeing you here SirPogsalot. :)
@@isaiahkepner8078 greetings fellow Dovi enjoyer
Every time my brain wanted to see something, it happened. This structure was incredibly satisfying.
This is truly a neutron activation moment
I literally cheered when you brought in the other semi circle. I thought "There's no way they'd blue ball us like that right?".
My man has been reinventing the wheel every day for years I swear to god.
My favorite thing to do.
Literally reinventing the wheel
Painful and satisfying at the same time. I’m going to go take a walk outside.
Fair.
This man playing with Lego is like he's playing with clays, full on creativity.
Lego has no gender.

This video really gives out the “ Would you like these 32 triangles or double it and give it to the next person “
I never really understood why he built these.
Till I started looking “official” master builders from LEGO Land.
It’s very interesting what they deem “illegal”
Maybe I don't get your comment fully, but "illegal" building techniques are just methods that bend the pieces to breaking, or damage the pieces if they stay stressed with how they're placed
this story is so real i think its paid for by lego... to provide some balance to this story heh
'Illegal' just means it puts potentially destructive stress on the components.
Illegal builds are ones that place stress on the blocks. In the short term with new pieces there's probably no problem but if pieces are kept together in an illegal build for an extended time as can happen with Lego then there's a risk of breakage. A fully legal build will never break short of faulty plastic.
What does this comment mean?
Thank you for making these videos the way you do. We've collected a few hundred pounds of Legos between myself, my wife and our kids over the last twenty years and have recently started to do more serious, custom scenes and builds. Your videos have been inspirational, insightful and wonderful all around. So truly, thank you! From our whole entire family!
Thank you for sharing that. That truly makes me happy. 🥰
5:18 Ah yes, my favourite Lego build: the Google Colab logo
you can hear the legos crying for help
You mean cheering for happiness
He keeps the legos’ so clean! and the use of gloves is like top tier. The building surface is crisp white.😂 like what more could i want! 👍🏽👍🏽
5:15 I'd say this configuration was infinitely better than the wheel. It had so many curves, and used all the Legos available. Bravo.
I didn't know that there were "ILLEGAL" Lego builds. Do you worry that Lego cops are going to show up and slap little Lego handcuffs on you?
If ever I'm having too much trouble putting my lego creation together I just perform ancient rituals so ~magic happens~
Absolutely worth sharing! Seeing the struggle even makes I appreciate your work even more!!! It's fantastic!!!
This guy's bricklink orders must seem very strange to the supplier receiving them
The comedy hidden within this is sublime
It hurts my brain to think about the absurd amout of time these must take
Just put brick on brick
No social Life !

Good to have you back! I was worried you might have been locked up in Lego prison for all these illegal Lego builds 😁
As a Lego builder this is giving me extreme anxiety but I’m also amazed
This probably my favourite brick ever. It reminds me of childhood. Thank you for building with it.
Having this many 1x12 plates made me ridiculously happy. 🥰
the rocking/rolling sounds are some of the most satisfying sounds I've ever heard on TH-cam.
*this dude:* "I need _every_ 12x1 plate you have. In yellow."
*the Lego employee, knowing he's an unstoppable lunatic:*
the creaking sounds of the legos is so stressful. for the legos especially because of all the stress being put on them
The whole concept of "illegal building techniques" is so strange. Who decided that one way of using legos, a toy, is "illegal"? If you're able to build something with it and it works why should it be "illegal"? It just limits the usefulness of legos.
The mad lad is back
I love how its held together by hopes and dreams
This man sure loves creating wheels
Truth
You can hear the levels of frustration with combining the 2 wheels
Not even infinity lasts forever.
I like your white gloves and white shirt. A little bit of mystique going there.
< magic happens >
Me: wait, magic is illegal
< looks at title of video >
Me: Oooooooooh, I see
4:18 these rings are perfect for a Lego themed wedding ❤❤❤😂🎉😊
5:37 live footage of the caveman's attempted vehicular manslaughter
Hey kids! You wanna hear legos screaming in pain?
This is the kind of ASMR that’s actually calming
This was absolutely amazing!! ❤❤❤❤
it felt like you were reading my mind as i watched
You are one of the most impressive and creative brick-moc on the world! Love it 😍🤘🤙👍
This could've used a touch of "In the hall of the mountain king" for the increasing insanity
it's craft macoroni and cheese
until another comes in
Would be a really cool CD holder if the gaps are big enough
Good for him on wearing gloves... You don't want to leave any fingerprints on something this illegal in case the lego police finds out...
I love your work..❤ You just built a coliseum!
It's important to see what the designs can do and also their limitations. I'm glad you kept the footage of the pieces breaking bc it shows that yes, it's made of many small pieces that somehow work together!!🤩🎶
This channel is like the opposite of asmr...I love it
I suddenly got hungry for some mac n cheese
Imagine an alternate universe where LEGO was meant for stuff like this and what we see as "legal building" is actually illegal
LEGO would be the world's richest company from the stress failures of pieces with entire art museum exhibits needing rebuilt every few years, and every few months for the dynamic examples :)
It would be a beautiful place though, and I think I'd enjoy a place in the underground city-scape gang rings, possibly built from the reassembly of all the broken pieces from regular society :)
The ASMR of your frustrated breathing was golden!
Cool!
Could the “legs” be spread even wider to create a convex wheel?
Mans made a continuously free hamster wheel.
Dude broke the laws of physics💀💀
Me as a kid:
WHERE DO THEY GET ALL THE LEGO FROM?!!
I expected him to bend the long brick on top of the other brick but what he did instead was way worse...
Brick Bending? Uh yeah they sure are.
This guy graduated in physics for all the wrong reasons.
the circles just feel like big cookies
Bro is single handedly building monstrosities, the backrooms of lego
Please release videos more often! 😢❤
You can literally feel his annoyance whenever it falls apart.
They might be used to it, but I certainly feel that way while watching. Maybe not annoyance, but it's definitely a 'Noo...' moment :)
"illegal lego build"
my brain: ah yes, circle
Told him not to reinvent the wheel. Didn't listen.
Thanks to this video I now don't have to find the giant rings in Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Mania, I can just build them on my own!
So satisfying and hilarious
I wonder how pricy a hobby like this is. Because I believe you have to custom order so many of the same type of bricks, and LEGO ain't cheap
if his piece count in the description is correct...... 1x12 plates in GBP is 0.20 each.... so GBP 103.80 per wheel.
It is not cheap. But revenue from these videos pays for the bricks, which has really unlocked so many possibilities.
@@BrickBending Do you get a discount or subsidy when you buy a kilogram of the same piece?
@GregorShapiro No. In fact, Lego is trying to shut him down for making illegal builds and there is a warrant for his arrest in Denmark.
@@definitelynotanAIchatbotwhy is this illegal?
It's so illegal not even the build wanted to hold itself together
Every video makes me think of Star Trek's replicators.
Satisfying! 🙏👍🏼
My heart says yes, but my brain says no.
That would make a awesome lampshade for the sealing 😀
From forbidden cheese wedge to forbidden cheese wheel.
"ALL THESE RECTANGLES MAKE A CIRCLE!!!!!!!!!"
Why are they ‘illegal builds’?
Do the police show up after you’ve built them and ask to inspect your Lego collection?
“Put the instruction manual down and kick it over to me…you’re going down for a long time for that double stacked fold over three by six; you sick bastard!”
Space squid with a french accent: "But my lord... is that... legal?"
Brick Bending: "i will make it legal!"
this thing to the lego man:
"be not afraid"
Very cool!!
I guess this guy has bent all the possible ways lego could bend
Super trippy build
why does the Lego in no.1 sound so... crispy?
It hurts but I cant stop watching ;_;
Fair warning, if you do this in front of anyone who works at LEGO, they are contractually obligated to assault you.
This is the only time that it's OK to super glue Legos together.
That's the only think more painful to hear than the creaking :)
this is very unsatisfying to watch. the whole fragility of this thing
Very nice!
Dude's gonna make a 4D object one day.
The Danish LEGO police will come and kick your behind for this illegal build.
As soon as they've managed to make wooden clogs out of bricks.
Watching this made me feel like I just solved a math problem, my brain hurts now. Lol.
How many yellow 1x12 plates did this take??
I've just come across a question that will probably keep me up all night. Can you calculate the number of elements per circle? In principle, you can measure an element quite accurately. If you think about it further, you could then calculate exactly the circumference and the number of parts necessary to complete a full circle for "Lego" circles that are based on plates, and establish a formula.
Problems the world doesn't need -> part n+1.😋
Instructions unclear got arrested for robbing a bank with a Lego gun
All these lines make a circle.
Can you also make something that doesn't consist of rotational symmetry or mirror symmetry, but consists of different parts or different chunks of parts, which interlock with each other and keep flexible? I am thinking of ways to make an Eifeltower or an Arch-Bridge... etc. There are plenty architectural examples in the real world which use bending and tension or torsion even as a stability method.
Cracking build but I fail to see how that is illegal in anyway unless it's some sort unwritten rule in the world of Lego
The question is: was it a LEGO Infinity or Infinity LEGO? ♾️
You must be independently wealthy, there’s gotta be a fortune in legos
This is an invention that is trying really hard not to exist
All these squares make a circle...all these squares make a circle...all ..
I feel like.. someone needs to define the word illegal for this creator...
