This band wanted to pay respect to one of the greatest rock musicians of all time who had passed away recently. The Eagles in the audience weren't judging their performance, they were mourning their friend.

Honestly I think Joe would have had the kindest response to this song attempt out of all of the Eagles members. He’d likely thank them for the tribute and offer some kind of encouragement on future endeavors with music. We’re huge Walsh fans in this household and there is no comparison there with the tribute. Well, Hopefully these guys make it with their own style. You have to just be persistent and practice and keep at it.
