- Do you remember that famous OLTL episode when Karen Wolek made an unbelievable testimony in the witness stand? Well, here it is now. It has already been posted before except that the volume is too low and the color tint is not mastered. This version has the volume increased and the color re-encoded.

I worked with Judith Light 2 years ago on a show called THE POLITICAN and you see on this show why she's a DAMN PERFECT actress
That was the SAME set that Serrina / Josie on Edge of night in 1976 When East coast soap opera actress Louise Shaffer broke down on the witness stand and gave a blood curtailing scream !!
Easily one of the top 5 moments in soap opera history. Judith Light was absolutely astonishing in these scenes. These scenes were so raw and powerful and 40 years later they still amaze me.
Judith Light's Emmy winning performance on One Life To Live. Judith Light won Best Actress 2 years in a row, 1980 and 1981 playing Karen Wolek. Love these old episodes. I would love to watch all of the OLTL episodes from when the show started until around 1983.
Those were really the best years.
This episode is proof OLTL was not just the show sandwiched between AMC and GH.
More often than not, in my experience, OLTL was the one to watch.
I know my sister and mother never liked OLTL and would switch to As the World Turns after All My Children.

I would watch AMC and OLTL and then when GH at 3 I would switch to GL.
@@MRInvincible569 I never really liked the ABC soaps I loved Guiding Light and Another World the most. Guiding Light was always my favorite I still miss it all the time.
Omg! Every time I watch Karen break down like that, it breaks my heart. Judith Light served it to us raw and real. Her performance grabs you by the throat. Perfection!

The Llanview courtroom in 1979 is so tiny. That includes the gallery, jury box and the witness stand. In the 1980s the courtroom set became more like the size of a real life courtroom.

This same courtroom was used on “The Edge of Night” in 1976 when Adam Drake was grilling his client Serena Faraday on the stand.
That was an amazing 2 part episode.
I remember that EoN episode. I was asking myself while watching the OLTL episode “Isn’t that the same courtroom that was used on The Edge of Night in 1976?”. That also made me wonder if The Edge of Night was also videotaped at the ABC Television Center in New York.
Edwyn Sanchez From talking to Donald May who played Adam Drake he said once CBS canceled EON in 1975 they moved from a CBS Studio (Monroe Studio) to Screen Gems Studio on 44th St. I actually interned at that building back in 2012.
My guess is that since it was an ABC soap they just recycled the set, but who knows how many times that set might have been used between 1976-79 since there are only miscellaneous episodes of soaps available to us.
Thank you! Big EON fan here, and I recognized the "Monticello" courtroom immediately! lol! It was last used in Raven Swift's custody trial. Makes sense given that Edge had moved from CBS to ABC. My first job in H.S. was a few blocks from EUE Screen Gems.
@@SeeingEyeMultimedia I had an internship in the EUE Screen GEM, before they torn down. This was 2012. Worst internship EVER, but cool to be in the building.

Of all the times I've seen this clip, I never tracked that Paul Martin was the defense attorney, fresh from over the river in Pine Valley!
I wondered whether he was the same one! I know the characters frequently popped into one another's shows, so it doesn't surprise me. It just rather fascinates me still, after all these years...😊

I wish somebody had all the full 1979 eps of OLTL but that will probably never happen.

there's Sgt Cadmen from The Doctors as the judge. I know most of them have been on other soaps but I didnt remember him being the judge.
Hello, may be, you know more episodes with numbers and dates, I would like to make list of all episodes from the beginning of the show or may be, you know all dates when show was NOT airing because of holidays or any other reasons.
Well, actually, I usually search for the dates and episode numbers online. It's not easy at all.

Over on Another world the same day was when the show killed off Jhon Randolph in a fire. Another show Jacqueline Courtney was on.
I know there isnt a list that I know of but this would be considered soap opera greatest scene I guess.. I would guess Rachel confronting Alice at the engagement party on AW would be second.

This must have been sweeps because with this soap along with Edge of Night, Guiding Light and Another World they had memorable storylines on 3/6/79.
This was when Guiding Light featured the first marital rape on daytime television.
