Hell yeah it does. I smoke my own brisket and ribs etc but it would be hella nice to go out to dinner to a place that does it for you and not pay for frozen shit these restaurants serve.
I had terry blacks when I was in Austin earlier this year. First time having true texas BBQ and I'm so happy someone has finally brought it to the GTA! Good stuff!
Wishing this kid all the luck, he is clearly passionate in what he does and Toronto needs more Hometown kids doing what he is doing. Can't wait for him to hope up a restaurant!
Love what you’re doing barbecue family! I’m here for it! you’re my spirit animal. I’m like you, fell in love with barbecue couple years ago just got heavy into it about a year ago. Just started my videos recently. Awesome work. I built my own drum smoker and I have a 120 gallon and a 250 gallon propane tank soon.
This video was very inspiring, having family in Texas & Living in BC Canada, this resonated close to home! Keep going - great things don’t come easy ❤️☝️
I picked up smoking as well as a hobby and I love it. Thats awesome you took the leap getting an offset to bring Texas style BBQ here. Going to see about making it to your pop up June 1st
As a lifelong Texan, I really enjoy it when people in other places get to experience BBQ for the first time. It's great that they can taste and learn about this important part of our culture. I don't believe in yelling 'cultural appropriation'. Instead, I think that this is how cultures should work - by sharing and learning from each other.
Once you taste the real deal, it is an obsession. Went to Texas for an event and tried their BBQ at La BBQ, life has not been the same since. Keep the passion A.
Now this is something we need in Toronto, some good barbecue run by someone who has passion!! Keep up the good work and best of luck on this journey, would love to see this turn into something big!!! #goldenhorseshoebbq
keep it up young man!! There will be hard times ahead. it's those who push through those hard times that succeed. The family support is AWESOME!! not everyone has that.
This is such a wonderful thing, il make sure to stop by sometime! P.S. Theres a bbq place in etobicoke called PlanB. Its a south african barbecue, and their style is called Braai. You will not be disappointed, and maybe youd learn something since its very different from western styles of bbq!
@@GoldenHorseshoebbq some suggestions A) experiment with Canadian Maple Syrup marination and wet aging. I know with Honey some cuts turn out nice. B) Make Texas Poutine, cook fries low temp, smoke them then fry again high temp for crispiness. Add some brisket and other BBQed pieces. Mix cheese and gravy, leave in smoker so it's fully melted then pour onto poutine. Man I am getting hungry, let me know if you expand in Vancouver!
I live in Ontario east of Toronto. I’ve been smoking various meats for twenty years on a Green Egg type Komodo smoker/grill. What type of wood do you use when you smoke brisket? I use an oak maple hickory blend.
Hey man, great job working BBQ the old way. We all start on the pellets, but anyone that knows anything about BBQ, will quickly move on to sticks. It's just better! Good luck out there!
Do you have difficulty finding good cook wood to use in an offset? If not, where do you source your wood? I'm interested in running an offset myself but did some research and couldn't find much in the way of easily sourced hardwood to run one with out here in Alberta.
I’ve heard other provinces are tough to find wood, hardwood just doesn’t grow some places apparently… which shocked me. I’ve got an abundance of oak and maple around me so I use that.
you should totally partner up with a microbrewery - cold beer and southern bbq are a killer combo! plus you could help share the costs of brick and mortar shop.
Food looks really good, but you got to put up some Astros/Rockets/Texans/Dynamo stuff when you get that brick and mortar lol🤘🤘 I'll definitely check this place out next time I'm Toronto 🤘🤘
Homie, buy yourself a headlamp, it is game-changing for checking on stuff in the dark
