Starting with a full loadout of everything, 17k, and a Cutlass black is NOT only not Zero, its not One, its like 4/10 minimum. Love you, love the vid, absolutely not a zero to hero vid. A 1 would be starter ship (Aurora MR or Mustang Alpha) and 15k starter cash.
I wouldn't be to hard on him in that regard. I do agree that starting with what he has is more than what people usually do but Cozy releases more "story-based" content. Also, he isn't the most knowledgeable about the game as you can see in the video so his version of zero might be more from the knowledge side. One thing I notice about most zero to hero paythroughs is that the people who do them have a good grip on the game, thus they pick a starter ship and go kick the NPCs butts in combat and have hundreds of thousands of credits very quickly. It might be more fun to see him learn as he goes than see an expert blow through what we all knew they could do anyway. I do agree that a Drake Cutlass Black isn't anywhere near zero.
@@Vorm17 i dont mean to be overly harsh, just i was excited (and still would like) to see him actually do a Zero to Hero, wbich this was not. The entertainment value of a Zero to Hero is always the start when the total lack of vehicles and resources forces one to socially interact by meeting new people or stowing away on ships to get their start. After a long day of dying to kamikaze NPCs yesterday, I decided to do a budget bunker. Went in with basic armor and a knife and that's it. Came out with a full kit and then some.
i hope to see the future of this serie i'm a man of fight but INDUSTRIAL i love it, it's not my gameplay cuz i need to be "active" when playing game but i love watching people doing it a nice approach change !
My zero to hero was just playing and then eventually getting invloved with some great players and doing cargo running with em and getting cuts, bought the reclaimer and making my own fat stacks of money now!
I like this a lot! Even the struggles of learning the delicate balance of mining ;) If I could suggest.. try renting a Prospector and going that route.
Love me some ROC mining, but i think eg. The mid vid rock explosion is coz the red charging bar has charged up like 1/3 of its charge bar so when the green finishes charging it explodes quite violently; Edit- think u want the red charging zone to have absolutely nothing ^^ Im more interested that when the power-in-rock meter is in the red the green actually continues to charge ….
Nice vid, i love these rp type vids. When the rocks werent scanning or becoming physical entities is usually an indication of poor Server FPS. r_displayinfo 1 helps Im sure you know but mining is a fickle beast with poor fps.
these were mostly hand mineable rocks, thats why you were blowing them up. i did the same in a prospector and fell to the deck, had to call an srv for a tow.
ok, for others watching. when the power goes critical turn the laser off immediately and back away as far as you can. If the charge line (the thin one on the right) is still in the red when the green part completes, it will explode. @Cozy boy - Aphorite I believe is bugged so you can only sell one at a time (someone may need to fact check that), and the rmc canisters currently can only be used for patching up your ship and cannot be sold.
Gonna make a positive constructive comment here since my other one seems negative at first glance and we wanna boost yo engagment. Enjoyed this vid even if it wasnt a Zero run :) My ideas for levels (0-1-10-11) of run 0 - No ship, no vehicke, no credits, no suit, no weapons, no tools. Exceptional, only for challenge runs, in no way resembles a "start" in star citizen. 1 - gear you spawn with + max 5k (for challenge runners and your average zero-to-hero experience) 2 - Aurora ES + Spawn gear + max of 5k (for light challenge starts, for experienced players looking to start at the bottom) 3 - Normal base starter package (Aurora MR or Mustang Alpha) + spawn gear (can include tutorial gear and funds starting here as replacment for "spawn gear") this is a true average start in SC. 4 - Advanced Starter pack (Titan, 100(s), C8(s), Nomad, Syulen, Cutter, Arrow, Gladius) + spawn gear (this is what most of us who play long enough will gift our friends for a better starting point) 5 - Super Starter pack (Freelancer, Cutlass Black, C1 Spirit, Talon(s), 300(s)) + spawn gear (this is the level most advanced players and mid to long term backers will start with) 6 - Level 5 + ground vehicle(s) or other promotional items Level 6 is where you started this video. I am happy to defend this point. :) 7 - Professional Starter pack or Advanced Generalists/Multicrew(Prospector, Spirit A1 and E1, Raft, Vulcan, Terrapin, Cuttlass Blue and Red, Hawk, Vulture, Banu Defender, 400i, Connstellation(s), MSR, Corsair, Freelancer Variants, Scorpius(es), Hornet(s), etc...) 8 - Advanced Proffesions/Subcaps (Galaxy, 600i, Mole, Glaive, F8C, Ares(es), Redeemer, Carrack, Hercules(es), Hull C, Retalitaor, Eclipse, Liberator, etc...) + a starter at any level 9 - Capital Ships, Advanced Multicrew, and Endgame Proffessionals (Polaris, Reclaimer, Nautilus, Kraken, Idris, Endeavour(s), Crucible, Perseus, 890 Jump, etc...) + a starter at any level 10 - Super Ships, Goliaths, Dreadnaughts, and Exceptional or Unique Cases ( Javalin, Banu Merchantman, Pioneer (is that what the CO basebuilder is named?), Bengal Carrier, you know them when you see them) + a starter at any level 11 - Fleets. You got more than 1 big boi + 1 smaller boi, then you got yourself a fleet. Fleets are not starter packs, they, like a true zero run, are not resembling a starting experience in any way. Those are my arbitrations as to what level of starts there are. I am happy to defend or explain them, and would love to see what others would consider at what levels. In particular Cozy... after this video I am VERY curious as to your scale. If a Cutty Black and a mole + 17k is your Zero, what is a 45 dollar starter pack to you? And what on earth does a 10 look like? I would have to assume a Praetorian Pack or whatever the $48k has to be your 10.
I TOTALLY agree! Calling it Zero to Hero was not the right move. I wanted it to be a challenge to have limited funds and only mining gear. I'll clear things up in the next video :)

Oh geez, that was an unproductive day! Just saying, having been more careful though, you could have made more profits. 1. You were probably just joking but I wouldn't give you a diploma as professional roc miner :p. You need to try not getting in the red section gauge! It's gonna explode if the green fills up while there is still red charged. Dont go full throttle with the laser, unless for only a short while. Gauge fills more rapidly with aphorite as it is often weaker than other gems (Hadanite and Dolivine). I find ROC mining is very chill and fun when done properly. Hopefully your video does not discourage people from doing it. But it needs patience and some concentration. 2. It looks like the server was slow. You could have waited a bit for the rocks to be recognized as mineables instead of leaving bare hands. Just look at one rock at a time and try switching from fracture mode to siphon mode until the rock gets highlighted (unless it's a new bug I'm not aware of). 3. You need to know aphorite is currently bugged when selling (3.22). It's been a while i have Mined, but for Aphorite you need to separate your stacks into individual gems within your inventory... as it was for all other gems for a while. It is a pain, unless you use something like Voice Attack (there is videos about it). It then worked normally for a short while, and then not anymore only for Aphorite... go figure... alpha... 4. And as for the RMC selling, you were at the right place to sell at TDD, but it seems you did not select the proper inventory, you selected New Babbage, whereas it was on yourself (notcozy) as shown at the previous terminal. You would have seen it listed if you were in the proper inventory. You can check the current inventory of where you want to sell, by looking at the sell tab on the right (we see it for a millisecond in your video: there was 3521 SCU in stock for RMC, I think New Babbage has 4000 max SCU capacity, so you would have been good to sell!). Well I hope this helps if you want to ROC mine or RMC salvage again later. I myself are often searching for answers on the web while playing, but I understand you want to make it more genuine by experimenting yourself, which makes your videos definitely more interesting. Cheers and thanks for your time making all those nice looking videos.
I see this bug is still in the game. The reason some of the rocks aren't scannable or crackable is because of desync. Sometimes they will eventually show up and sometimes they won't. You're always rolling the dice. Unfortunately, this has been the case since they introduced the Roc.
Is it at all possible to fit a Roc on a 400i? All I hear are some saying yes and some saying no. The latest data says no, but is possible with care. How much care is needed?
They really do need to provide a financial incentive to ROC mine, because right now it’s just a waste of time. You can spend 45mins loading up, travelling, searching, mining, extracting and going back to maybe get a measly 45-50k UEC for all that work. Or you can do so many other contracts in a fraction of the time and effort. To me, they need to rebalance it to make it more than a novelty, I don’t mind it not being super profitable, but this really isn’t worth it because you’d never earn enough from ROC mining to work your way up to a Prospector.. or to put another way, it’ll take an insane grind to do so.
0 to hero starting with an almost 2 million AUEC LOADOUT* its not by far 0....... Start with an Aurora ES and just a Flight suit. I would do some low bounties, raid some outposts for armor and consumables, hit the shaddy outposts for guns, get enough to rent the cutlass and ROC... Ill assume you did that as a start and its on your 1 level, having the setup to ROC mine... i mean, just the tractor gun its 19k aUEC right now. thats a pretty not 0 start.
