Really nice video. I love these early little trail bikes. I have restored four XL250 (two K0, one K3 and one K4) and I am just restoring another XL250K0. I would realy like to have one of these two shock Yamaha DT models. But these are hard to find here in Germany, and even models in very bad condition are too pricy. I guess they are quite rare in Japan, too.
Thank you for your comment. You are the great enthusiast! There is nobody I know that is enthusiastic as you. By the way, As you have mentioned the Yamaha DT models are very rare in Japan too. Actually, I especially like 1974 Yamaha DT250!
You have inspired me! When I am too old to manage my BMW R1250R I will buy a Japanese 250 trail bike. Also, why did the DT1 have a clothes peg attached to the cooling fin?
Thank you for your comment😄 Light weight trail bike can go to a lot more places, of course big bike is powerful and reliable! By the way, that clothes peg improves a cooling effect. However, it is still unknown whether this opinion is true or not🧐
@@King07T yes, you are right. Big bikes are powerful and can go a long way. I will enjoy my big bike for as long as I can and when I can no longer enjoy it I will get a 250 trail bike, maybe a Kawasaki.
My friend had a '72 XL250 and I had a'76 XL 350. Both were like new,, but the 250 looked better, handled better, stopped better and had more power. I have to say, my two 350's were not very impressive. For a fairly big single it was a dog. My ''71 SL 350 twin was a cool bike. Sounded excellent and looked excellent as well. Like to have that one back. Another friend had a black RT 360 and I always wanted one, but now they're impossible to find. Oh well. Superb video as usual.
Thank you for your comment. I thought you had a productive motorcycle life!👍 BTW I like the SL350. It is a very cool exhaust system. also the RT-1 is very rare in Japan too.
@@King07T I've probably had almost 50 bikes, mostly Japanese. Some BMW's, Harleys, etc. My love is still Japanese 4 cylinder bikes. Back in the 70's, Hondas had the best sound. CB750, SL 350, CL 450, Had a '20 MT09 that was cool, but I prefer my Z900. Unfortunately, it's so cold and icy in Idaho, all of my bikes are hooked up to battery tenders. Come March, I'll fire 'em up. Thanks for the reply.
