Watch ASAP. I am 3 months after a major hand surgery. My hand has limited movement and swelling. I can only wonder were I would be today if I had started sooner. It's not that I didn't move my fingers it's more like I could have been smarter in my exercise. All of her videos provide value.
After watching several I discovered I was doing my hand exercise wrong. Working smart and hard is better than working wrong and hard. 😊
Good luck to everyone. I took my hand for granted. Now I am trying to get it back.

As a recent severe elbow injury person that Splint/Cast/Brace looks so much more comfortable than the ones I had!!! ( I slept elevated at night and also did something called a Six Pack of hand exercises, helped a lot)

I got a bone bruise injury in my right arm close to 2 months ago from a fall at the local grocery store and the only way I prevented from having swollen fingers was to use both the elastic bandage/gauze a little more loosely than usual instead of tightening it to help with/the blood flow and not getting purple ones when you lose circulation

THANK YOU!!! So glad I finally googled swollen fingers and broken elbow. Neither the ortho doc nor the primary care NP gave any tips for dealing with the swelling -- they both blamed the sling and suggested I ease up on using it a bit. Not much help. Can't tell you how happy I am to see your video. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I only found you yesterday, wish I had found you weeks ago? I broke my elbow 6 weeks ago, full arm cast comes off tomorrow. I have only been following a couple of your videos for two days and what a difference 😊 , I can now bend my fingers and get my thumb to touch my little finger, before that I could not bend any of fingers almost at all, as you say felt like concrete, Thank you sooo much. ❤

Very helpful. Great video. I had a compound fracture/dislocation that required surgery for internal fixation and an external fixation device installed. Now 6 months post injury, surgeon is saying I need to have the internal hardware removed as well as my ulna styloid that is giving me discomfort. In general, what limitations happen when the ulna styloid is removed?

That's what my physiotherapist in the hospital told me to do (I broke my elbow and had a surgery this week) but I find myself really bad time doing this... and she told me that I have to do so every few hours, which I don't... so I find your videos and channel as a motivation! yet, it is still so hard for me... even mentally....
Please, can you tell me why is this so important? an you tell me words of motivation?

Watched one of your videos, Great content. Wanted to ask about my finger. Jammed it when trying to catch a soccer ball about 5 years ago. It didn't break or dislocate and healed fairly quickly after typical symptoms. However after 5 or so years it still gets sore and feels tender. It also clicks when you flex it while putting pressure on the sides of it. Any advice? Thanks you!

If someone were to break four fingers in the same hand, what would the treatment be? How would the cast be applied? Or would the hand just be immobilised? What would the treatment be like and how would it be done?

Thanks for your video. Im in the UK and hardly any advice on this subject. Im 10 weeks post humerus fracture, brace removed 2 weeks ago. Im using my hand and arm much more but the swelling is bad every day. My question is this - why am i getting this swelling at all, when the bone is 95%healed and how much longer have i got to suffer this.? Its very depressing. With regards to using ice, be VERY CAREFUL people. I left mine on for too long and now still dealing with the effects of ice burn 3 weeks later.! 😢

Broke my olecranon and had hardware installed. For swelling of the hand I tried to keep my arm elevated at all times with pillows and I used my squishy stress toy a lot. It was soft and that was good since I had little strength and sometimes I put it in the fridge so it was like squishy ice pack. It gave my fingers the movement needed for like 10 days until the swelling went down and I could've used my arm a bit.

I am waiting to have surgery on my displaced fractured elbow. Currently it is splinted. Is it still safe to do exercises before surgery? I have had 2 broken wrists on the same arm so I am already doing as much as I can minus holding anything in that hand. Can I safely use a squishy ball?

Thank you, Michelle. I am about 10 days out from brace removal after a broken wrist. My doctor cheerfully changed my cast to the brace and told me take it off in 3 or 4 weeks and I didn’t need to come back in. I also didn’t routinely need PT. I tell you that only to explain I’m kind of on my own and you’ve been a big big help. My question is, my hand and fingers still swell up constantly. Is this normal? They loosen up if I use/ move them but soon are swollen and stiff again.

    • @VirtualHandCare
