Grew up on 3 wheels and 2. It was so much fun letting my friends try and ride my 3 wheelers. Never failed they always tried driving up their own legs.
I thought my 250R was fast. I can’t imagine it with a 500 strapped to the frame!
True work of art right there I think something people forget is yes it took him 35 hours to polish that head but now you have to keep it that nice keep it that polished and clean so it stays nice. True commitment and craftsmanship
I'm ordering the trike conversion kit from BVC trikes for my 2002 Honda cr250r. I've been saving up for the last 3 years ever since seeing their work. Cannot wait to ride on 3 wheels again. Grew up on a big red. My cousin rode on the back with no shoes on (against my advice) and we rolled it and her pinky toe got cutoff by the chain and rear sprocket. Soo many memories on these things. When I used to race 3 wheelers on flat track back in the 80s i always felt like my ass was hanging off the back of them like on a kid bike . 3whellers were king in the 80s. Loved my Kawasaki tecate 😪

I had new 1982 Honda 185s ATC my parents got me for my 12th bday. It was so easy to ride. Automatic clutch. Easy shift pattern 5 down. We took it everywhere. WAS SO MUCH FUN. This 500cc two stroke ATC blows my mind.
When you’re too old to race but you still wanna break some bones 😂👍 gotta love everything that’s going on with that ATC ❤️

On another note , sad news from california , the Oceano Dunes " Pismo Beach " is being shut down within 3 years 😪 The frieking Sierra Club and other tree hugger groups finally managed to get the only riding area in central california shutdown 🤨 Though I don't ride sand/dirt anymore , it makes me really sad that kids these days are going to miss out on camping right on the beach and dunes and being able to ride and take in the scenery along the Pacific Ocean right there , it just totally stinks!!!! Thanks for all you do keeping bikes and trikes alive Ken , I Salute you!!!!

My neighbor had an 86 trx250r that still had the original tires from 86 on it when he sold it to a guy up north. He barely ever rode it.
TRX 250 tremendous quad.
My brother used to have a 250 and that was blisteringly fast. With the 500 engine in that thing it must be an absolute monster 90 rear wheel hp Jesus I don’t think that would be rideable if the swing arm wasn’t extended. But of course i guess if anyone was going to build one it’d be you sir another amazing job. Been binge watching your channel over lockdown and being a bike guy absolutely love seeing all these gorgeous truly unbelievable bikes especially the single cylinder big bore’s as you very,very rarely if ever see them anymore especially over here in Scotland you are a true American idol mate god bless and stay safe. P.S sorry if this was a bit long but i almost never comment on video’s but i just had to say you are living the dream man your son must be so proud 👌👍🏴subbed.

I know the word legend gets thrown around a lot by younger people to the point where it’s almost lost it’s meaning but me at 44 (well 45 in two days) have only ever called one other man a legend and you my friend are the second as I said before your son must be so proud as I’m sure you are of him god bless your whole family. Trust me buddy i guarantee you the world notices especially the dirt bike community not just notices but is in aw at how you bring these dirt bikes back to better than when they were straight from the factory what you do is without a doubt truly amazing being one of those dirt bike guy’s I’ve honestly never not once saw one of your videos and went ah that bike was nice but it could’ve looked nicer if he had did this or that you literally always as you Americans say knock it out of the park (clear into the next state) lol every time. And it’s not just the build’s neither you actually get to ride the bikes i mean wow like i said you are living the dream of every dirt biker not only in America but all over the world. When you unveil your new build telling people what you did and how you did it people especially dirt bike riders I’m certain can tell as you said you are going all in all the time. Then you start the bike up and show them it’s not just a shower but a goer. Just let me simply put it this way I’m from a small town in Edinburgh most people have never heard of and every bike anyone has no matter how nice and new someone will say if you think that’s nice you should check out Ken Kaplan’s channel it’ll blow your mind. Just came home from racing my screaming eagle at Red Bud- only 2 smokers in 30 B class, one was ktm 150 from Rhode island local southwick rider. What a good way to decompress with badass 500 smoker. Sick. 🤘🤘🇺🇸

I've never ridden anything more than a 300 but from what I hear the high cc 2 strokes have decent torch as well as the crazy top power. 500 cc 2 strokes would be awesome for quads and 3 wheelers

I use to run a KX500 standard swingarm, and ATC 250R with extended swingarm at Monson Kenny. This thing would be sick there.

Years ago I out-ran 3 local police cruisers with my stock '85 Tri-Z 250....had I had this thing I could've out-ran the local, county, and state boys all at the same time.
That long swing arm keeps the front wheel on the ground too, it's a shame there isnt snow on the ground... that would be a blast with the paddles.... speaking of snow... ice oval on your pond?????? Food for thought.. keep on keepin' on

I had to increase my French healthcare payments just to watch this. I once rode a CR500 for all of 45 seconds. I opened it up in 2nd and instantly realised that that my skill level was way, way below what was needed to ride it and not die.

Those 500 3wheelers were the norm at Glamis back in the late 80's and 90's even a kawasaki 500 3wheeler a saw there that was fastest thing at Oldsmobile hill until Laeger showed up with his duall cr 500 engine quad hill shooter. Even a tz 750 engine banshee was there in the early 90's. It was an awesome time to see those wild creations. The late Sam Moreno of Sam n Ed's cycle with his 4cylinder 4stroke big block turbo nitrus quad was king of the hill back then. I miss talking shop with him.

Alcohol is great but…..where you would normally burn 1 gallon of gas, you would need 2 gallons of alcohol. The last UAS kart I built was a CRF 490 converted to alcohol. Talk about crazy, check them out.
