Like my cousin spend so much money on his jeep and looks nice but he never takes it off road he says he's scared it will break down lol also where I live I see many nice jeeps and Toyota's that I know people spend a lot to make it look cool but they are so shiny and clean I doubt they ever go off road.

I agree with the lights. I had a mate that was using his highbeams in the suburbs to get home late at night, doing the speed limit and rounded a corner where he saw a child run out onto the road just inside the blind spot. If he didn't have the highbeams on, he wouldn't have been able to see the kid in time and would have definitely hit them. Stay safe people, better to annoy a few adults for a few seconds with highbeams rather than hitting someone or something.
Aside from the limited leg room in the rear seats, this truck absolutely rocks. Love that it was designed prioritizing function. Love the dual exhaust stacks and the sound of the V8 diesel. You Aussie's are lucky to have the 79 with the V8 diesel as a platform. So many US Tacoma off roaders want a diesel.
That was a real treat, easy as good as anything I've seen built by anyone else, Australian's are certainly up there when it comes to building innovative vehicles with real imagination and talent, and as a Kiwi that's not always comfortable to admit. I really appreciate the in-depth look, the detail, intelligent questions and explanations, thanks guys I definitely want to see more, what a special truck.

You may want to tell him about a system we have here in the states. It is called Hydroboost. It's a power brake system that runs off of the power steering system. Works much better. Also allows the use of huge master cylinder.
First off I'm Canadian 🇨🇦, second imho Australia not only has some of the very best off roading country in the world but also, Aussies have led the way in modding 4wd's since the inception of 4×4's. Simply put, nobody knows more nor does it better period! And yeah I know how much shit I'm going to take for my opinion but it's truly what I believe. Australia were the inventors of the 6x6 set up too with a true thru shaft middle diff, iv notice they don't do that in the states, they still run normal diffs and a extra drive shaft from the transfer that huge and complicated and prone to vibration and breaking, I don't get why they don't use the proper diffs

Hi Jason, noticing the twin truck exorcist system on the MEGA 6X6 ; Having open out-let throats, you might need to think about, installing weather proof flappers or 90% bends to a side flow, with both out-lets. [you might be surprised how much rain/snow, could enter those openings.] example: rain gauge.

Some very special, secret and magical locations in this area that you would love. I never thought I would see you in my part of the world.
That feeling you get when you look at a neat concept/idea brought to fruition only to realize it had been done before......back in the 60s...by one of the best offroad vehicle building companies at the time...Jeep and their M715 Jeep Kaiser 6x6, or their CJ2A. Willies overland 6x6 1ton i believe it was called That being said... STILL beautifully done.
It's a Show Pony/Promo car and fantastic at that. Period. If you going on off road trip, leave it at home. Promote your bussines or attract attention, it's perfect.
Awesome truck. I’m glad we don’t have strict regulations like Australia does here in America. If we want to make a 6x6 with 40+ inch tires we can. Some states limit the maximum tire size but in the states that don’t you can legally run up to a 54” tire on the road. There are other laws like requiring mud flaps or fender flares to cover wide oversized tires but in most states you can get away with quite a lot. Just look at some of the trucks built by guys like on the show Diesel Brothers. It’s insane what can be made and legally driven on the roads here in America.
Most of the 5 speed transmissions here in the states, back when they were popular, came with directions stating to not use 5th overdrive when towing. So when towing a load you just leave the transmission in direct or 4th gear.
2 years later I see it..what a beast... I thought it was the Mercedes AMG 6×6 (my dream truck).. then wtf.. Land Cruiser... I'm down with any chance of breaking the laws of physics.. u have made a mechanical animal... the hell with cost...

This car is is insane. It proves how much you can build these 79s up with the products in the country. The only thing that would improve this is honestly a lowered lift. You take it back to a factory lift height with portals and it'll handle rock hopping amazingly and will be way better on fuel (she's up around 30Lper apparently)

Really nice to hear him say regarding the 70, "Coil conversion and an Auto box." Over in the UK we never got the 70 but we could get a Japanese Import 70 Prado. Which I own. It is very underpowered with a 2.4D from the Hilux but it comes standard with Coils and an Auto!! Now does anyone know of a spare 1HDFT engine in the UK.
@Gus Johnson Its no where near the same experience. U little jimny with its 1.5L non turbo 4 cyl with 31's cant compete with this. He said this is a touring vehicle. Ur jimny cant tour, let alone tow anything over probably 1 tonne. No one in Australia has a jimny, all utes. Because they can fit bigger lifts, bigger tyres, accommodate more items and are way more comfortable, not to mention also probably faster, and have more torque etc... Any decently hard track and ur jimny wont cut it. To low, short wheel base and stance. Damage to tracks isnt an issue trust me. Any vehicle can do the same amount of damage, just depends on the driver.
@Gus Johnson bruh, you just comparing new Jimny with Land cruiser series. LC is a living legend. Don't compare it with Range Rover and especially with lower level like Jimny, it's not apple to apple. Look in Indonesia we introduced new Jimny with test ride offroad, but do you know what is the rescue car on the event? It's VX80!

I did not realize that the Australian Govt. was so strict on the automotive industry. Are the that strict on vehicles that are shipped over to? I would like to build an overland vehicle to tour the world in but now I've got more concerns than before I watched this video. In America they are not even close. ( SEMA) proves that .I know people do things differently in other parts of the world but that is what makes it fun and exciting to go different places. I guess I need to do more research on regulations of the countries I am interested in. That is a really cool vehicle and I have been sold on the 6x6 concept sense 1977. sadly mercs, landrovers are fine from the countries they hail from though if you want them off road in the conditions in Australia I will say this you'll be gutting the shit out of it to use offroad because up north In WA they cost mega dollars to keep on roads and you can be 2-7 weeks camping on a caravan parks whilst you wait until the parts come in .. whilst landrover and merc might make a good 4x4 for the market they're in, whether it be europe/UK, however external markets they are nothing but in prim and priss class of vehicle aka soccer parent mentality.. and to both for australian condition you may spend $100,000 just to get it offroad though I doubt the landrovers engine will stand up offroad unless you are buying exmilitary vehicles.. sad to say much like jeep or other american 4x4 offroad scene in its market it does fine though try and put it in an area it was never designed to run in you will be spending mega bucks just to suit the vehicle to Australia This why you don't hear of jeeps/landrovers/g wagons going offroad that much over here because each time they brought a vehicle to test they break them,, Hate to tell them if you what a cruiser 200 as a comfort machine and a towing rig ya looking at $150,000 bare minimum
Definitely a very sweet build, probably the second toughest after the unimog. Despite everything being almost perfect, there's a couple of things I don't like: 1. Portal axles: Looks great and provides great diff clearance, but honestly longer springs would provide way more articulation offroad. I've noticed the mega 6x6 lift wheels on minor obstacles, which is disappointing. Diff clearance probably wouldn't be an issue anyways with 37s or 35s. 2. Rear setup: Not really great for touring. Looks great though. Otherwise, I love it. Great Aussie build.

The portal axels his running has 16percent reduction, it was said in his build series that with the portal and 37's it works out the same as driving in the standard 31's, being he now has to use 35's and his done a lot of engine work done his fuel economy would most likely be standard of not improved.
love the truck!! great job on engineering ,looks, fit and finish..if you want a jeep with a hemi look for the brute.. i own a 51 willy's (military) with a 2 speed transfer case with a gear reduction. 3 speed with a bull low and 37's..dana 60's with 6:56 gears and full lockers. i don't have to touch the throttle on a 45 degree climb.55-60 degrees a little throttle. ..have you guys ever built a 4x4 holden ute? a ford ranchero ? i bought some parts for my 66 ranchero from australia.. good people ,straight forward no bullshit... good experience in all..(northern canada)

You touched on Land Rover doing a 6x6, my father was in the R.A.F. as a fireman and LR brought out the 6x6 in the '80s for the Airforce fire service

It is very underpowered with a 2.4D from the Hilux but it comes standard with Coils and an Auto!!

@Gus Johnson Its no where near the same experience. U little jimny with its 1.5L non turbo 4 cyl with 31's cant compete with this. He said this is a touring vehicle. Ur jimny cant tour, let alone tow anything over probably 1 tonne. No one in Australia has a jimny, all utes. Because they can fit bigger lifts, bigger tyres, accommodate more items and are way more comfortable, not to mention also probably faster, and have more torque etc... Any decently hard track and ur jimny wont cut it. To low, short wheel base and stance. Damage to tracks isnt an issue trust me. Any vehicle can do the same amount of damage, just depends on the driver.

@Gus Johnson bruh, you just comparing new Jimny with Land cruiser series. LC is a living legend. Don't compare it with Range Rover and especially with lower level like Jimny, it's not apple to apple. Look in Indonesia we introduced new Jimny with test ride offroad, but do you know what is the rescue car on the event? It's VX80!

I did not realize that the Australian Govt. was so strict on the automotive industry. Are the that strict on vehicles that are shipped over to? I would like to build an overland vehicle to tour the world in but now I've got more concerns than before I watched this video. In America they are not even close. ( SEMA) proves that .I know people do things differently in other parts of the world but that is what makes it fun and exciting to go different places. I guess I need to do more research on regulations of the countries I am interested in. That is a really cool vehicle and I have been sold on the 6x6 concept sense 1977. But I got way more out of the video then I expected,Thank you for making it, in fact I have subscribed to both channels.

Really nice mate , well done , maybe few more touches and you have it , personally I don’t like 79 series, only because I find them small and too simple inside, rather a 200 series 6x6 with that tray and definitely get rid of the CVs .
If I was going to pay that number , I’d get a AMG 6x6’all day !

sadly mercs, landrovers are fine from the countries they hail from though if you want them off road in the conditions in Australia I will say this you'll be gutting the shit out of it to use offroad because up north In WA they cost mega dollars to keep on roads and you can be 2-7 weeks camping on a caravan parks whilst you wait until the parts come in ..
whilst landrover and merc might make a good 4x4 for the market they're in, whether it be europe/UK, however external markets they are nothing but in prim and priss class of vehicle aka soccer parent mentality..
and to both for australian condition you may spend $100,000 just to get it offroad though I doubt the landrovers engine will stand up offroad unless you are buying exmilitary vehicles..
sad to say much like jeep or other american 4x4 offroad scene in its market it does fine though try and put it in an area it was never designed to run in you will be spending mega bucks just to suit the vehicle to Australia
This why you don't hear of jeeps/landrovers/g wagons going offroad that much over here because each time they brought a vehicle to test they break them,,
Hate to tell them if you what a cruiser 200 as a comfort machine and a towing rig ya looking at $150,000 bare minimum
Definitely a very sweet build, probably the second toughest after the unimog. Despite everything being almost perfect, there's a couple of things I don't like:
1. Portal axles: Looks great and provides great diff clearance, but honestly longer springs would provide way more articulation offroad. I've noticed the mega 6x6 lift wheels on minor obstacles, which is disappointing. Diff clearance probably wouldn't be an issue anyways with 37s or 35s.
2. Rear setup: Not really great for touring. Looks great though.
Otherwise, I love it. Great Aussie build.

The portal axels his running has 16percent reduction, it was said in his build series that with the portal and 37's it works out the same as driving in the standard 31's, being he now has to use 35's and his done a lot of engine work done his fuel economy would most likely be standard of not improved.

love the truck!! great job on engineering ,looks, fit and finish..if you want a jeep with a hemi look for the brute.. i own a 51 willy's (military) with a 2 speed transfer case with a gear reduction. 3 speed with a bull low and 37's..dana 60's with 6:56 gears and full lockers. i don't have to touch the throttle on a 45 degree climb.55-60 degrees a little throttle. ..have you guys ever built a 4x4 holden ute? a ford ranchero ? i bought some parts for my 66 ranchero from australia.. good people ,straight forward no bullshit... good experience in all..(northern canada)
