Pro tip: don’t fill concrete all the way up. Leave a few inches to put soil back in and allow grass to fill in

Great job! I would just advise in the future to paint the underground portion with the anti rust before you cement them. They are protect somewhat from the concrete but can still rust from any moisture buildup specially at the very bottom.

@@alextaylor9746 No it doesn’t, the high PH nature of concrete forms a protective oxide layer on the steel. Moisture and air is what fucks the steel

This is exactly what I'm going to do. Everyone else used wood but I love in Florida with a ton of sun and rain. I think the pipes would hold up better
Excellent. This is exactly what I need. Im tall and I like to hang from the bar when I do my pullups too. This was a great video. I may simply find someone who can do the work for me and give them this video as a blueprint.

Everything is great but paint actually decreases friction (in a bad way), it can cause pain the the palms and even rip skin on them, that's why outdoor parks have shiny bars and they are never painted. Or painted with some special paint
You should regularly check the iron piping for signs of rust on the external surfaces. Especially where the pipes enter the concrete.. Also tap the pipes with a hammer to detect interior signs of rust. I would use a geologist hammer. It has a point on one side. Maybe you could use a ball peen hammer first. You would be checking for the different sound created by a change in the thickness of the metal. Any sound difference would indicate a problem. Which should be taken care of when necessary. Those pipes were designed to be used inside walls or underneath the floor of a house, still fairly well protected from the elements.
We have had a lot of old metal playground equipment failures a while ago. And then they were replaced with some sort of ridged plastic tubing.
The other thing that you could do is add concrete inside the pipes.

Great work. The only thing i would do is hide concrete, 5 cm less from top, after some time grass would grow.
It's better to paint it white so that the metal absorbs as little heat as possible from the sun. Can't do much in your outdoor gym when there's no shade and the metal tubing is scorching hot.
You can even include a water cooling system in the summer 👍
Great video! So great I think I'm going to build one in my backyard. Curious of a couple things, your mains are made of 2" and your cross pieces are reduced to 1.5"? Also, your layout... Is there a standard for dip station spacing? Or did you build things to your personal dimensions? Thanks for the help!! Looking forward to building my gym!!

I feel like using treated 4x4s would be easier, don't have to worry about making it level, just put the posts in the ground and then bolt the pipe to the wood level then..
4×4 would cost much more. Blavkniron is cheap light and strong.. and yes u would still level it. Atleast this guy can't stand back and admire his work

Wonder if you can make a tripod out of pipes about 12 to 14 feet with a climbing rope hanging from the top. Use either the rope or the pipes for hand over hand climbing workout. Along with that gym set you just built
you shuld add rubber to the bars so you dont slip, or the paint doesnt melt in the summer time and stick to your hands
I think a thick wood is just a better post as it is more steady.
Is the 80cm hole deep enough not to swaywhen doing freestyle calisthenics? Like swaying for momentum, etc.
Its stabelised with concrete, if you dont build in a swamp you are good to go
Hi, bin auf dein Video gestoßen und muss sagen wie du es gemacht hast gefällt es mir am Abstand am besten. Ich habe immer fest Holzbalken eingeplant aber diese Metallkonstruktion ist der hammer. Würdest du mir eventuell eine Anleitungsliste in Stichpunkten geben, das wäre so toll. (Wie lang waren die stangen, wie viel kg zement...) Vor allem interessiert mich wie deine Rohre im stärke und durchmesser sind und die (Temperguss?) Verbinder gewählt wurden!

1 1/2" black iron pipe cut and threaded to length...a bunch of 90s for the elbow joints...and that's about it really..they cemented everything into the ground to keep it stable.

Looks awesome! However, don´t you have to wait at least seven days because it takes a week to dry to have concrete that is cured to 70% and have strength.....?
I mean for the amount of concrete you use, mine was fine after 3 days but it depends on what concrete you get and how much you use

Almost every other tutorial I’ve seen uses wooden posts instead of galvanized pipe (for the sides) but it looks much simpler to use pipe for the whole thing.
Is there any reason why wooden posts would be better?
Also how deep do the holes have to be?

Roy Reta I did wooden posts because I had them already, but wooden posts will be significantly cheaper as well as being easier to customize and/or add onto later.
