Im in the same boat as Juan, my transmission went out on my car so all my money went to fixing it. I would totally buy the program, I watched Creative live when I could and learned so much just watching bits and pieces. For me, I can't understand any part of the face being out of focus. Both eyes, etc., should be in focus. This shoot wide open and having one eye in focus, the other eye, nose, and ears being out of focus is silly. But what do I know? I've only been shooting portraits since 1964.
Personally, I never shoot with too wide of an f. stop. Nothing less than 5.6, or f.8 Other ways exist to blur the background if necessary. I can't see having any part of the head out of focus.
LeoneClub, you are right! Explaining photography, which is a VISUAL art, with no photos to back it up is useless. We have to visually see it in our mind and since we all think different, it could be misleading. Tangible photos please!!!
Great system for posing, terrible photos. They all look like they've been shot on a cellphone by someone who wasn't actually looking at the screen. The group shot could have saved it but it was poorly framed, the angle is off, and could easily have been symmetrical but isn't.

Then m43 fits you perfectly. Their pro zoom lens has constant aperture of 2.8, equivalent to 5.6 in ff in terms of depth of field
