  • Pattern speaks to those who speak the language.
A lean condition can also impact firing line amplitude. Detailed in a future segment.
Being the lazy bastard I am…quick, non invasive but accurate testing that supports/provides a troubleshooting direction is very appealing 😁 Ignition waveform interpretation was master mechanic domain late 60’s, 70’s into the 80’s. Seems to have slipped from the consciousness, not sure why? (Scan tool data, no doubt has something to do with it). But it continues to provide a wealth of information.
Again, I am not a professional Mechanic, only an interested amateur.

Thanks for sharing, the small change in the waveform is telling us useful information. I once went on a training course, wanting to know stuff like what you are showing. The course instructor said " I'm locking into it too much, all i need to know is that it had a waveform, that ment the coil was ok" i wasn't happy with that answer from him.
I got a copy of a Halderman book too.
This is useful information that you are showing here. Cheers

Hi Matt. Doesn’t seem to be that much interest in secondary interpretation these days. Not so long ago it separated the seasoned mechanics from the juniors. I kinda regret the approach of this video, just dropping into a scenario might not have been the best approach. Anyway… hope all is well. Thx for watching. Cheers Pal 🍻

Yes admittedly this change is very subtle. Checkout the latest scope vid (Turbulence) if you like your changes dramatic. Thx for watching 🍻
