probably one of those games you always wanted a reboot of that never will happen due to licencing, however imagine next gen graphics with this game would be mind blowing, i would say the arcade system is as good as you will get with its parallax scrolling, an opportunity missed back in the saturn days and had an identical arcade port on the SEGA AGES BUNDLE, where this could have had better graphics and sound but i guess the licencing for the tracks were long time gone. not to mention the passing of ayrton senna during the hype of super monaco GP 2,which might have caused delay or cancelation due to other laws etc.
the mega drive genesis version is probably 2nd it had no track side detail but at least the background changed with every course and it gave you a sense of being in a different country and as the arcade would never have a championship mode as you would be sat there for hours putting in your life savings to win the championship. and the rival system and team progression was probably a holy grail in racing games that the home system version did so i say its a level peg to the arcade but second in terms of graphical detail.
the master system was probably the worst and it mocked you as you played it with MD signs on the track side as if its telling you to get the mega drive version.
the AMIGA version looks great but its the 2fps that ruins the game it as some additional trackside detail but i think that's where they traded of frame rate,i mean when the c64 has a more sense of speed than the amiga or the ST its saying allot, the specy and amstrad versions well specy wins there.
lets face it nothing will come close to Jeff cramonds gp4 ever in a million years not even codies can replicate the realism of that game.
regardless of the track side detailing in the arcade version your still not actually in the harbour at monaco as its miles away in the foreground so its a tough one to gripe over, IMO the mega drive genesis version does do a great job of replicating the arcade so I'm going to say its the best of all ports, not bad for a 30 pound game back in the day when there was nothing else like it out there we were all used to a top down version or rear view version of a f1 game but this put you in the cockpit and from that era this was a massive achievement, there's worse games on the sega 16bit than this one gets a thumbs up from me,man i even still have the poster of the mega drive version i got in one of the games all nicely framed on my wall so i say mega drive is probably the best of sega f1s achievement's.
i don't care for f1 games of today and f1 in general due to the big headedness of drivers, but to have an f1 game with no licenced drivers or teams would be very nice.
ANY DEVS OUT THERE WANNA GIVE IT A GO.

I always wished there were some sort of updated version of the Sega Genesis port that had visuals and sound closer to the arcade version. The World Championship mode made the port a lot better than the original game despite the significantly worse visuals, but it could have been better.

An interesting array of ports that have absolutely no hope in hell of recreating the arcade experience. Ahh, those were the days!
I've never played the arcade original and the Amiga version did little to endear me to the game. It was OK to play I guess, but there was much better stuff out there. Megadrive looks more playable than the Amiga/ST offerings, but still doesn't look like a thrill ride.
Of the 8 bits the Game Gear looks the most playable but the title music on the C64 absolutely slaps! Pity the rest of the game leaves a red mark.
Also, what's happened to the woman on the Spectrum version? She looks more like a Star Trek alien!

They really butchered the grid lady in the ZX Spectrum intro 😂

Amiga\ST have more roadside detail than the Megadrive, but the latter is way smoother.

Sega Genesis/Mega-Drive port (version) has less detail because it is 4 or 5 megabits

@@jasonlee7816 Amiga version is taking up 360kb of one lousy 880kb floppy and still managed more detail without playing that much worse than the MD.

Did the Megadrive programmer forget to include roadside objects??

The MD cartridge media was expensive back then to cut costs
or keep costs down they only used a 4 or 5 megabit cartridge

@@jasonlee7816 again, the Amiga version is smaller (360.6 kb 377.1kb on the genesis) and still managed to pack more detail in there...
