Came across your video randomly today and want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I have never been diagnosed with ADHD but have had a huge problem with procrastination all my life but the last few years has been so bad that I thought it was caused from depression. The debilitating anxiety, feeling worthless, lazy, overwhelmed by multiple tasking build up when looking at something I need to do and everything else you talked about in this video really got my attention. I have to admit just the thought of trying to journal ramped my anxiety up 100%.

@@laurelbaynton8011 omg, I'm so glad you found me! If everything is overwhelming, even journaling, I recommend starting smaller. Take a walk! Put a bag of frozen peas on your chest (v regulating!) Do 3 deep breaths.
And most importantly, remember that you are valuable, even if you do literally nothing today. Your worth is not dictated by your productivity.

My bullet journaling hack. Want cute layouts but don’t have the time? Use a ringed binder for your journal so you can reuse pages of art. So page on the right: art, page on the left my to do list for today. I keep about 15 of these pages of art and mix and match them depending on my mood. Once a month is over, I take those pages out of the journal and then reuse the art.

    Hey I just subscribed
And your channels has been so mindblowingly useful for helping with my adhd. I was wondering if you could give a “plan” for tackling projects and work(especially mental) that you do for getting work done. If it is executive function friendly I’d greatly appreciate it. My biggest issue is I know all the general ideas about it (to a certain extent) but can’t find practical strategies or a game plan for executing tasks and dealing with low dopamine levels. I’m young and want to do well in college, I’ve already had to drop for health reasons and now adhd is just bringing me down more. I appreciate all you do, thanks! ❤

I love your description of the invisible brick wall! I feel that so often but it's hard to explain to others. I refer to it as me "bouncing off of" a task. It's there, I want to do it, but my brain actively resists somehow.

omg, bouncing off, YES. that describes it really well too!

Thank you for validating how I (and others) are feeling and putting it in words!

18:46 the more annoying the better LOL otherwise I wouldn't notice the timer but I also have to balance that with finding the perfect sound that doesn't overwhelm me every time it goes off LOL

I just found xtiles and I LOVE it. It's like the best parts of bullet journalling, but I don't have to make it pretty! You've shown me some stuff I didn't know how to do though :)
    I'm loving your channel.

The sweating and hand-wringing 100%, that's me to a T. And task disorientation is real, especially with kids to look after and all the distractions that comes with 😅

I really think that I have auDHD. all my life I've been given so many diagnoses, but as I get older my symptoms have been becoming worse and worse. I feel like I am at an all time low struggling with emotional dysregulation, staying stuck, not being able to communicate my feelings, feeling like my life is just a whole bunch of chaos. I really want to do better but I need help. I have been in an abusive relationship because I feel like I couldn't take care of myself.. or handle the change. Your videos are helping me feel better on not knowing what's wrong

I'm gonna think while I type this to give my thoughts. I'm thinking that it all comes down to our monotropic thinking we only have a few things that can even be there especially when we are focused or hyperfocused on something and it's usually in my thoughts that I'm focused. Or I want to learn something so your assessment on prioritizing the tasks is spot on. Even when I think of autistic inertia, that does not really fit because it's our monotropic thoughts prioritizing what we need to do and what we end up doing. Some days are more difficult than others but at the moment my weekends or Saturday I will make gemstones and take a break from my thoughts. I have both Autism/ADHD so it's a double whammy and my 2 thoughts talking it out doesn't help so I am assuming I have not found all the answers I have set out for. 👻🤪🌶🤘😎♾️

What is it called when something like this that you just described about telling yourself it will only be 5 minutes does not work 19:26? Could it be somewhere in our past our parents lied to us or something like that or is it more like a pathological demand avoidance? how do you know the difference?

I don't think a bullet journal would work for me cos I don't like my weekly schedule mixed with my gift list mixed with my brain dump, etc.

Interesting. Attack it sideways ….. get rid of the brick wall between me and my AirPods to play baroque music in order to write on my laptop. The AirPods wall is not as high as the writing wall 😅
